I was the quiet metalhead kid among a bunch of kids who liked Tiktok and rap. I got along with two teachers because we both shared a love for Metallica (not saying I didn't get along with any other teacher, I just don't go out of my way to talk to anyone unless we have something in common). I still interact with my chemistry teacher from my sophomore year through Gmail and send him memes and videos and I even educate him on memes and certain things in meme culture

I guess the best way to describe me in highschool was that i was the guy that everyone knew. Most people described me as weird at first but after they interacted with me a few times they said im actually pretty cool. I didn't really belong to a clique and it was awesome! I could nerd out with nerds because i kept up with internet stuff, i worked out with the jocks because they saw potential in me (i worked out before i got in highschool), i had an interest in metal so me and the emos talked music, i vape so i got along with those people too, i even chatted with the hot cheetoh girls and even though they are loud and annoying in the morning with their bonnet wearing minions they are actually really nice girls its actually shocking how nice they are

Not looking good and having nice grades can clarify you as a nerd. Cuz when the "popular handsome jock" remind the teacher that there was homework, he is praised for being responsible and shit like that

Looking back, I'm glad I grew up and went to K-12 school in the 2000s and first half of the 2010s. I couldn't imagine going to K-12 school post 2016 in this day and age. Let alone thru a global pandemic.

Knew a friend who vaped. Some people said later they saw him in tears leaving the office because he knew his parents were going to kill him.

I remember one time during our lecture, some popular troublemaker in our class farted. Almost everyone laughed, but the teacher told everyone it was a 'bodily function.' The thing is, when somebody else farted in class, the teacher yelled at them. My classmates told the teacher it was a 'bodily function,' but she didn't take it. She sent the troublemakers in the hall and now everyone farts with their arms and says it's a bodily function. It still continues today, it was super funny!

As a band kid, you mostly find them funny if your also in band, my band has a lot of inside jokes and such but some band kids are genuinely funny to be honest. Although some are just very strange and are actually just unfunny.

My highschool was pretty much hicks, hood, nerds, emos, and stoners. Being in the south, jocks really wasn't that big of a deal since pretty much everyone played some type of sport and the popular kid stopped being a thing after elementary.

I am a British person watching this, and I am surprised by the diversity of American schools.

When I was in middle school, there were only two types of kids. The popular kids, who were all jocks, and the quiet kids/ npcs. I was the smart kid, not the one to remind the teacher of homework, I wasn’t the teachers pet, but I was the annoying know-it-all nerdy kid

1:01 - 1:20 I actually had a moment where I reminded the teacher that she assigned homework. After lunch break I went to my next class. Right after everyone sat down, I (silently) pulled my homework out of my backpack and put it in the turn in tray. And as I did that, the tardy bell rang and the teacher saw what I was doing as she walked into the classroom. She said “Oh thank you, I forgot that I gave everyone homework.” And everybody looked at me and started fussing at me. I really didn’t time that on purpose I swear. At the time I felt really anxious about making my classmates mad at me, but now I look back and laugh lol.

I was def the band kid (was that kid from middle school to college) in high school, but not for the meme references; rather for my somewhat obsessive passion for music (practiced the Euphonium fairly religiously to become one of the top 10% of talented musicians in the many band programs I was in (I was so good where during the one spring competition I did for marching band in 8th Grade, my middle school marching band won 1st place in our division and me playing my solo part really well in one of our marches was one of the major reasons as to why my band placed the highest in our division in the first place), know some fun facts about various instruments used in marching band and orchestra, and score read many different concert pieces on my own time almost everyday (I even learned how to read different transpositions for various musical instruments all by ear because of score reading)) 😂😂😂. I was sort of the nerd in high school, but more of the sense that I was basically a try hard in school where I graduated high school with a 3.95 weighted GPA, took a decent amount of AP classes, was within the top 10% of my graduating class, and ended up graduating from a UC (University of California) that's within the top 100 universities in America as a result of my hard work from high school (I definitely wasn't the kid that reminded my teacher about when homework was supposed to be assigned 😂😂😂).

Dude, I'm in Grade 11 and kids in my school smoke, not vape, but anyway... One day I was in History Class, and suddenly the fire alarm rang. Now the announcements tell us when we're having a fire drill, but there was no announcement. Everyone was freaking out because they thought the school was actually on fire. We evacuated, and no fire was visible. Later, the principal found out that a bunch of smoker kids agreed to smoke in every single bathroom at one time. Those kids were suspended for a looooooong time.

I would call myself a sleeper kid- had a lot of trouble socially because I probably came off as seemingly autistic since my mind was always fixated somewhere else, but when I was given the smallest chance at creativity, I tended to blow the entire class away (but still had basically no social life until the end of senior year)

I was half-emo (I say half because I didn’t act depressed constantly but I was very monochrome and didn’t like to wear any colour, even though my friends decided to call me depressed). I had to sit there while my friends were known as ‘the hot ones’ and I was, ‘the funny one’. I was mixed with the popular kids (I have no idea how I managed to pull it off but hey, I’m not complaining). I played guitar and drums and was kinda a nerd (not an annoying one though). You didn't properly specify the difference between nerd and geek, as geek isn't a part of this list. Although geeks are what I'd say are who almost always get A's and are the type of people to remind the teacher about homework. Nerds can know things, but it is very specified determined by self interest. Nerds tend to procrastinate a lot, which is basically me. The way you can differentiate between the two is by telling them to respond to "May the force be '______'." A cultured nerd will always respond with "with you" but a geek will most certainly respond with "equal to mass times acceleration". If you don't answer with any of these, you are uncultured and not a nerd or geek, but if you managed to completely read through this, then ur probably a NERRRRRRRRRD

Hah I’m in band and I sometimes say extremely unfunny stuff/reference old memes to annoy people/because I haven’t gotten out of the habit lol. A lot of people in my band are like that, since it’s mostly middle schoolers, but it’s all just us being ironic/fooling around.
