I also thought characters would have their unique abilities (Yellow Toad could push things with the power of the Elephant power up, Daisy could flutter in the air like Yoshi but not being easy mode and Toadette could use Peachette)
I'm the indie pilled nerd: Sees dashing in the air "hey they stole it from Celeste" Sees the black spirit follow the player "hey they stole that from Celeste too!" Clears Climb to the Beat in 10 ish tries "that wasn't that bad as people made it out to be. Has to be the training I got from Celeste, ha"
Bro I’m a fan of yoshi and I don’t think it’s the players fault that yoshi’s invincible, if you’re a yoshi player who wants to take actual damage in some sort of way, when you get hurt you can run around for the time of his invincible frames, gives you a risk of falling into a pit! 👍🏻
