I experience several stages of grief when listening to an average Kikuo song.

I think you can split disturbing/creepy vocaloid songs into 2 subcategories: 1: Lyrically disturbing 2: Audibly disturbing like for example Kikuo's more disturbing songs have pretty upbeat and/or chill music attached, acting almost as a false safety for those listening to it, meanwhile theres people like Daijoubu-P who really just jumped in and made earbleeding nonsense but in the best way possible yknow?

Then there’s Utsu-P holding up the entire vocaloid metal scene.

Also the songs with the most complex, head scratching, bamboozling lore behind them (Onibi Series, Kagerou Daze, Evillous Chronicles etc.)

Then theres producers like Daijoubu-P, Hikki-P, and Mondaiji. They always make such horrifying SOUNDING and visually disturbing vocaloid songs. They’re so addicting but they bring a different sense of discomfort that is not the same other “disturbing” producers.

The main categories I listen to are "happy with messed-up lyrics", "'ROCK", "horrifying", and "obscure songs with less than 1K views" lol

I fall into the old crusty vocaloid fans category, since I've been actively listening since 2008. The fandom space for vocaloid was a lot different back then. Vocaloid used to be considered too wierd for even western anime fans, by the way. When a song was popular, everyone in the fandom knew it. These days, a song can hit like 20 million views and not everyone who listens to vocaloid will know about it? It just depends on what producers you follow and what the algorithm blesses you with it seems. Because vocaloid is so diverse now and the barrier to entry for making music with the software is a lot lower than it was back then, a lot of good vocaloid music gets overshadowed. I've stumbled onto absolute bangers with less than 10k views even when the song sounds like it could've easily made millions of views ten years ago.

No.11 The song that goes hard to me are basically gaku songs or ,miku songs sang by another voice snyth that fit the song better than miku (no offense queen we love miku )

masa's songs: questionable disturbing (onibi series, sisters story, secet story, liars story, way way more) either involves s3x, drvgs, violence, canibalisim, or alcohel
