Recaps for these videos, my dude. Not theories. I have watched zero trailers and avoided reading anything. I love your videos, but won't be watching the recaps.
Merch! Love the X. I have an idea though, and if you make tons of money then just give me a little kickback.. kidding? What if you have a gilded wheel .. and it's broken .. and it just happens to splinter on a tangent or five. Of course the main wheel would have or be made of little floating Snippets of dialogue from your summaries of betrayal and murder and power .. and food but with tangents on philosophy and psychology and drinking stories and ..gosh, ive been so busy lately I don't even remember some of the lovely tengents during your long Rambles. Anyway.
Alt Shift X can you make video about Five Forts-that is kind of a second wall in essos there is more about it in World of ice and fire i red it there and i it got interesting
Peter Dinklage did a truly amazing job making Tyrion such a robust and likeable character although he is so very flawed. I think a lot of people really like Tyrion and sympathize with him. We want to see him succeed but are very afraid he will make a really horrible choice that he can't talk his way out of and bring on his demise! Sadly I think that's what we will see in season 8!
What's wild C M D is Peter is the only American actor in the production. Flawless acting like many of the British actors. May I humbly submit that he's also a champion of smaller people. I only go there because his performance is so powerful that his size never a cures to anyone. Peace
Tyrion was GRRM's favorite character and one that was rumored to make it to the end of the books. Unfortunately, I feel Dan and Dave's version will kill him off like they did other favorite characters (Barriston Selmy.) I love Perter Dinklage and his portrayal of Tyrion. It has been one of the stellar highlights of the whole series. The writing (IMO) has gone down season by season, so the ending will probably be everyone we love dies and everyone we don't survives. Figures.
They premiered the first episode last Friday in NYC and threatened people there to not say a word about it or take any pictures. The word is that in that one episode, they don't see Tyrion making it to the end. I think he turns into a traitor which is a rumor for the last episode.
@@ilovemusic4556 oh please. Rumored? Lmfao. Any rumor about the books, I would just let that go. Here's a fact for you though, Shireen was burned alive because GRRM said that will be in the books. Stop blaming the show runners for everything. As if GRRM doenst kill 90% of the characters. Lol. And Selmy is only frigging alive still because the books haven't gotten that far. Do you guys think before you type some of this stuff?
Rock the free world "J L " .....I couldn't agree more. There are many web-sites dedicated to GoT but they're all Fords and Chevy's compared to this Rolls Royce. Peace
@@MiniatureMasterClass no he won't be. See Peter Dinklage's latest interview on Game Of Thrones Channel. He is so emotional on the part where he says "Tyrion is a very good person, just wants justice in the world and he wants to fight for the people who don't have a voice" He isn't gonna turn villain anyway.
That doesn't mean anything in Game of Thrones. Ned Stark was a main character too, and he didn't end up doing much of anything before being killed off before his time.
I'm totally behind the notion that Tyrion is torn in season 7, hence his poor decisions, but I just wish it was presented more clearly and executed in such a way that didn't make him look like a complete idiot.
The joke is his wife made 3 wishes. The first was for a house fit for a queen, so that was the honeycomb. The second wish was for the nicest ass in all the kingdoms, so that’s the jackass/donkey. Her third wish was for his cock to hang past his knees. Punchline is “I used to be six foot three!”
@@StottOnTheDot I heard something along the lines of the man is a beekeeper living on his own and brought some honey in to pay for sex in the brothel because he's tired of having sex with the donkey.....or something.
I don’t have any real questions or comments or anything, I just wanted to say thank you for all the videos. I think I have watched every single video you have uploaded to your channel. I enjoy them and think you do a great job with all of them. Thank you. Looking forward to season 8.
I really appreciate the way these videos are made. I was trying to watch one by Screen Junkies called "Game of Thrones Recap CRAM IT" and I had to shut it off and come to this one. Your videos are so much better than that hyperactive, loud, annoying drivel. I could not take that tone or visual presentation style. Yours is a much calmer and clearer presentation, both in your speech itself and in the way you synchronously present visuals to further demonstrate and compliment what you're saying I also like that these visuals include relevant quotes from the books as well as the show episode. The extremely clear presentation style allows for perfect recollection of events without grating on my nerves like high-pitched, loud fast-talking audio mixed and mashed with erratic visuals tend to do. Thank you for having one of the coolest, most collected Game of Thrones channels. Seriously, it's quite refreshing, particularly during times of stress.
i honestly don't think tyrion has any loyalty left to his family but loyalty for jamie. i think that when he sees jamie riding north to help john and dany to fight the dead, he will no longer have any problems with afilliating with dany
Soooo I always wondered: When we see Shae in Tywin's bed, it made me wonder if Tywin is the one who put her in Tyrion's tent back in season 1. He paid for her, told her to "fall in love" with Tyrion as a means of keeping an eye on him. It's why Tywin is content to send Tyrion to be Hand of the King. Tywin only tells Tyrion that he can't bring Shae because he knows Tyrion will do the opposite. It could just as easily not be any of that at all and it's just that Tywin swooped in after Tyrion casts her off.
Braun was the one who "found" Shae by taking her from another soldier's tent. Then Tyrian took her. So it's hard to fit Tywin in there unless you think Braun was working with Tywin.
Agree, he is at his best, being an forced to act cleverly in the cultural background he is the theoretical expert of - in Westeros. Essos line, his high position beside Daenerys doesn't let him show his true Tyrion.
Wice Well, him being a pig riding amusement for a fat slave owner isn‘t that satisfying either, so you have a point there 😅. But he could flee in the end of the books, if i remember correctly, so there is hope.
what makes zero sense about tyrion's plan to siege kings landing is that i think an extended siege that starves out a city would hurt the common people way more than danny burning the red keep and being done.
"with the Shae in the TV series, you can tell she actually has real feelings for Tyrion - she challenges him, she defies him. The Shae in the books is a manipulative camp-follower prostitute who doesn’t give a s-t about Tyrion" GRRM So I think Shae in the show truly loved Tyrion, but she was hurt when Tyrion called her a whore, and Cersei forced her to testify. In the books, she never really loved him and was willing to betray him.
Aaand I was just about to go to sleep but was looking for good excuses not to, thanks for another great one! P. s. Dorne was spelled Dome but it's all good
Not really. Lazy to blame that. The issue is, he's not good with foreigners. He's better in his own city. He thrives around his family. And that brings me to my second point. He needs conflict. Whether it's Cerise, Joffery, Tywin, Kat. Right now, he's around someone who likes him that he gets to help. No enimies and hate constantly around him. His position and surrounding are different. His character thrives with conflict. And he really doesn't mess well with foreign cities. It just doesn't work. It's about 30% writing when u really break down what's going on
@@el34glo59 The fact "there is no conflict and everyone likes him" is in and of itself bad writing. Also he spent the last season back in Westeros with wars going on and he still did nothing.
The only thing I'll miss as much as GoT when it's over in 6 weeks is Alt's commentary on it - YOU SIR are a god among men - BY FAR the best GoT commentator on RU-vid - The others arent even close
Loving watching these! It's challenging our perception of the characters. The personal opinions and speculations make for very good content, not just the recaps which also help when talking about such a complex timeline.
0:28 you're wrong about this though. His loyalty is never in question. It's always with himself and by extension, his family (who, yes, the majority hate him but they also give him power and gold). Last season he even talks about how much killing his father destroys him and you can see how tortured he is by Dany burning through the Lannister forces.
Awesome as usual! I'm really going to miss these videos. Maybe make one on the Dune Series? A huge body of work to draw from and the interest will be really high when the first movie comes out.
I know there are a bunch of important plotlines to wrap up, but in my eyes the most important thing is that they have one more season to tell us what Pod did to those girls.
Tyrion's very good at talking himself out of trouble *when he's sober* The tragedy of Tyrion is his alcoholism which clouds his brilliant mind from seeing traitors and schemes ganging up on him. Despite his memorable quotes, you can't drink and expect to know everything.
Excellent breakdown. I’ve seen a lot of videos saying Tyrion’s character isn’t as clever as he used to be, but i disagree. His Casterly Rock military and Meree. negotiation decisions didn’t work, but they were good ideas. Also, he avoided carnage for Westeros by calming danerys, talked his way out of getting killed with Jorah, had her meet Jon Snow, got rid of the liability that was Dario, arranged for peace meeting, and made Cersei at least pretend to be loyal. He truly is a hell of a character.
Thank you. Hes absolutely in love with her. Shown by that exact scene you showed before he bacame hand. It's not hard to see. You're supposed to see it. And people are like why is he pissed about job and her. Um, because he loves her.
I'm utterly convinced Tyrion is going to somehow sit the Throne one way or another. Dany is too much of a nutcase and Jon is on borrowed time. In the end, after all of that time, a Lannister will indeed sit the Throne, but a Lannister like no other in history. A bittersweet ending, where the smallest man (literally and figuratively) is the only one left. This also makes sense strategically. Jon and Dany are probably going to be on the front lines, and Tyrion will always be in the back as a strategist (at least, ideally) so when Jon and Dany fall, Tyrion is basically the next in line for command of the army Dany brought with her.
I don't think Tyrion actually loves Dany but admires her. As in, he wants to work with her to get the respect and admiration she's giving him that he'd always wanted but never got from his father so, in a sense, he's getting a father figure in Dany as he'd always wanted from Tywin, or perhaps a mother figure he never had at all?
Tyrion specifically promises that the hill tribes will rule the Vale. That hasn't come up again in the show, but in the books, it's looking possible that the hill tribes will come back in a big way..
Please disable motion smoothing in your videos. Seems like something you enabled very recently. It gives the clips a "soap opera" effect that is very noticeable/distracting to some people. Love your content!
Alt Shift X See when Jaime's hand was taken, in the books, he spoke about how his phantom hand BURNED. He also spoke about how he gripped Cersei with his golden hand instinctively and how "old habits die hard" when he was talking about pointing. We know that the "Firey Hand" is the Faith Militant of R'hllor and when Merra asked, "how will we know the end", Jojen replied, "you'll know", whilst he looked at his burning *right* hand. I am convinced Jaime and Cersei are the Mad King's children and I am convinced Jaime is Azor Ahia. Also, as I have seen you point out, there is something in Valyrian that is very similar to something, I can't recall but I am sure you know what I mean... Onos something Lord and Gold, maybe? What do you think?
Hey there. I have appreciated all of the content that you created throughout the years and am wondering - What are your plans for after Game of Thrones is over? Will you cover a different show/book such as the upcoming wheel of time amazon series or the series deep into the future that i'm sure will be made of the Stormlight Archive? Cheers.
This was really good. His story was rather weak in season 7 and it wasn't clear what his motives were and his actions are unsuccessful in contrast to the political maneures we loved to see in the first half of the show. This video puts him in a nice human light with failings and desires just like all the rest of us.
I hate that Tyrion is in love with Danny. Every man is in love with her and he has zero chance with her. And even if he did, she has/had 3 dragons. You honestly think Tyrion would give up whores for her? She'd feed him to Drogon.
Shae didn't testify under duress, but because she was hurt. Tyrion called her a whire so she can give up in their relationship. He dis it to protect her from Cersei but Shae didn't seeit that way.
Tyrion's behaviour in s7e5 frustrates me to no end. First for how he walks around the battlefield all horrified, like he hadn't burned Sannis' fleet to a crisp, sailors included, back at Blackwater, or if he hadn't just let her burn half the slavers' fleed back in Mereen. And secondly for the whole talk about the Tarlys. Why is everyone losing it about the Tarlys? They defied Daenerys twice (three times, if you consider they were sworn to her via House Tyrell and switched sides out of pure xenophobia), even when she did propose a non-violent solution by sending them off to the wall. What was she supposed to do, just let them go? What kind of message would have passed, that a ruler lets everyone get away with anything, even traitors who specifically refuse to bend the knee? The whole episode was bull on Tyrion's part.
I don't feel it's right for people to say Tyrion is dumb now just because his plans for Dany's war didn't go as plan. The idea of not using Dothraki and Unsullied was a sold one seeing as how the people of Westeros didn't like foreign invaders (as echoed by Randall Tarly). Also, how was he supposed to know that Casterly Rock wasn't worth protecting anymore? The only people who knew the gold ran out was Cercei and Tywin.
