The best book I have ever read about Lana was The Private Diary of My Life with Lana by Eric Root, her, of course, gay companion during the latter years of her Life. You will get a kick out of Lana admitting she was not aware of what fellatio was during the 1940s, astonishing since she was Hollywood's most promiscuous star. And, of course, she confesses to Root that she killed Johnny Stomponato, something that even the most intense Lana fans now recognize as the truth. There was justification for it since Lana killed him in self defense. It was a little bit of a bummer that Lana's gay daughter, Cheryl took the rap for the murder, but she served a very short time in a luxury school for wayward girls.

I think Tyrone was a promiscuous bisexual. At the start of his career, he had an affair with Barrymore's stepson,Robin, but left him cause it was the best for his career. Robin took his Life soon after. Tyrone left Robin, Judy and Lana all in the same matter. I wonder how many others he did that too. His co-star Anne Baxter agreed with you though saying Tyrone was without question the most beautiful man she had ever seen. I have read that Anne and Terry Moore were Tyrone's closest friends.

I do not believe Tyrone Power was as promiscuous as what hype, publicity, legend and legacy sensationalize. He may have had a homosexual affair while he was single or divorced, but be rest assured that he was faithful to those women when he was married to them. Annabella and Linda Christian would not have put up with any affairs, etc...

The studios ruined his 1st wife's acting career because they rebelled and got married. Poor Lana, despite her rep as a fast women. She was only human, and got a raw deal with other guys as well. Maybe she realized she deeply loved Tyrone too late. He gave his heart to someone else.

Ironically, considering Tyrone's bisexuality, Robert Wagner's first marriage to Natalie ended in divorce in 1962 when she found him in bed with another man. Natalie was so distraught by it , she attempted to take her Life. It is detailed in the fantastic, very well researched book by Suzanne Finstand about Natalie called Natasha, published sometime in the 1990s. Very much worth checking out.

People were kinder and more gentle in the entire approach to making love. In many ways human nature has not progressed as it should have.
