Great interview....I deal with depression too and to hear someone like Tyson Fury talk about this makes me feel more and more empowered to continue spreading my message that it is okay to talk about mental health and depression
very true, talking about it helps me as well. the world can be a therapist you can bounce your ideas off of, just have to know how. also, having a real therapist is a real good thing to have where you can learn how to talk.
Jean H Pierre and its very strong to talk about it. It’s definitely for the better and good people around you can usually give you power to fight depression. Stay strong like Tyson!
I love Tyson Fury. I love how he is communicating about his struggles. I love that he corrected Rich Eisen and gave credit to Andy Ruiz. I love that he is giving respect to his upcoming opponent and how he handled the pure speculation about a Wilder fight in 3-5 years. Class act.
Look at Fury’s face on the pic on the right at 6:25.. He is on the canvas and his eyes are on Deontay Wilder.. At that point its only 2 seconds since he has gained consciousness... That right there is a man possessed, with his eyes on the prize.. A fighting man in every sense of the word... He was not lying when he got up in Wilder’s grill in New York after Wilder vs Spzilka and said “There’s only 1...”
Thomas Dauphan no that was a HBO PR stunt that video.. cus of the obvious robbery that occurred that night they needed something to counter with... there’s actually a real video of the count and he was up in 10 seconds have a look on RU-vid... also ur making up a rule... there’s no rule that states u need to be up by 10seconds...the rule is u have to be up by the refs 10 count and be able to carry on fighting... ‘refs 10 count’ isn’t 10 seconds so even if that doctored video was real the ref still didn’t get to 10 so was impossible to call it off... Wilder won 3 rounds maximum out of 12 so I think it’s so safe to say Fury won the fight fair and square even including the knockdowns in the scoring Fury should of still won by a round... yet it was a draw... u know exactly why it was.. HBO needed to hold that belt for dear life 😂 Wilder is walking talking plastic champion right now its embarrassing I can’t wait for the rematch.
Before the Wilder fight, I really didn’t think much of Fury. He has skill for sure, but (especially against Klitscko) I thought he was a grabber whose theatrics were over the top. Seeing him fluster Wilder nearly all night and get off the floor from that knockdown to finish like he did, and hearing candid interviews like this have really earned my respect for him. Proof is in the pudding, and he proved it to me. Tyson’s a champ in my book!
If anyone can watch this man discuss his challenges with such sincerity, humility, and conviction and NOT be moved almost to tears...well...I don't know what makes you tick. That is powerful, powerful stuff. And we can all take from this a certainty that Tyson Fury is going to be a handful for ANY fighter he ever faces, because this man has looked the darkest of forces dead in the face and he's lived to talk about it. Whatever might happen in a boxing ring pales in comparison to that - and I know I wouldn't want to face a fighter with that perspective! I couldn't be more impressed with this incredible survivor.
When I hear Tyson talk he's so much more relatable to me than most top sports stars, he speaks with no hint of media training and sounds like a mate of mine so he seems like a nice fella to me. Mental health is a massive killer it's true so hearing that a millionaire boxing champ suffers just like loads of us is good to know.
You can’t help but admire this guy who is helping a lot of people with his words of wisdom about mental health and he’s also got a lot of balls to withstand the lethal punching power of Deontay Wilder
Stop the Tyson Fury drugs... Fury is not the best heavyweight fighter out there especially when Deontay Wilder is still the "undefeated" WBC American world champion.
@@simonhh The same Wilder who knocked the JESUS 😂 out of Tyson Fury in the 12 round where Moses 😂 himself had to come down from heaven to help Fury get back up off the canvas (LOL) after a long count from the referee in a fight that Fury clearly LOST.
@@barrywilson3643 Long count that has been debunked about a million times. Seriously just search it up on RU-vid. It's old news. And yes 115-111 to Fury minimum.
karld83 Do you not remember Tyson officially retiring when he fell into depression and his belts getting stripped after the Wlad rematch didn’t happen?
12:28 totally true. This is something that people can't seem to grasp. It's all about being wise and finding better ways to deal with it. Tyson my man, massive massive respect.
KCDirectBuysmart The way he describes his mental illness sounds very much like my mate who has bipolar and anxiety, I will see him and he's in a good mood, joking and talking about fights, football, life in general and then out of nowhere his whole mood changes and he's quiet, hardly answers and comes across as a moody as fuk guy! 🤔 I'm thinking WTF happened here?! He has talked about suicide before and been hospitalised so it's frightening, Tyson sounds very similar imo.
CaptainMaakasu Swartz is a can he has fought no one of any level or standard...he’s best opponent seems to be Gashi who just ran away from Chisora who Fury has oreads beaten and is levels above. Swartz has Ben cherry picked by Frank Warren and Bob Arum for a dominating Fury LV debut. Nothing bu a patsy.
Absolute legend of a man the best in the world at boxing, a true life warrior and an inspiration to millions. Keep fighting your way through life 1 day at a time Champ! Gypsy KING 👑
Why are Americans so focused on superficiality pisses me off you have one of our most inspirational athletes and the first question you ask is about his shirt ffs
Why don't you fucking relax. He did a description of what he was wearing for the radio audience, pretty common for Video/Radio broadcasts. It took all of 10 seconds. It was a pretty good interview overall. And stop the Anti-American hate, it sounds ridiculous.
Real talk I've been there and I know exactly what he is dealing with on a daily basis. Long story short I was a prospect boxer in the pros whose career was cut short due to issues. It started with a female that I gave my career up for to make her happy. She was as faithful as her options. She already had a kid, I knocked her up, she said I would never see my son again because I broke up with her a year later. Was too tired of the cheating with her 1st baby daddy and a dude who played for the Cincinnati Bengals and 1 night I wanted to end it all. But I ran into a friend named Mr. B Addison from Alpha G.E.D school who took me to a church on that premeditated night and HE with the grace of the LORD stopped me. Today I tell everyone Im a husband and a proud parent of 2 wonderful children that are my life as well as 1 of the most respected amateur and professional boxing trainers/ City Employee today considered along the ranks of the Great EDDIE FUTCH AND FREDDIE ROACH!!! I take one day at a time because every single day is a struggle......NO LIES
It's the only thing that matters. You're not allowed to trade the belt in for it's value in raw metals. A belt is literally meaningless, the only thing that matters is the man on the top. The lineal champion.
i love You dirty bastard . You are my light in dark days !! i also love Deontay ! I know He loves you as well , he just play with this killing sh..t , but he just need attention , just like You Sir :)) Deontay and You are my no1 !!The rematch must happened!! Please fight Guys , but don't let him hurt you!!
Imagine if, when Tyson Fury won the 'belts', he literally never took them off - he wears them every where, even sleeps with them on. He tells people, to get this belt you'll have to beat me up, or knock me out, but I am not just gonna give it to you - you have to take it as the better man. If that was the case, he would still be wearing the belts today and thus is the lineal heavyweight champion. It actually means a lot more than a governing body's title - those belts are just a physical manifestation of a business or brand. Thanks
@@will5098 No no, thanks to you! Oh, by the way, that really isn't how it works. Firstly, he lost those belts, all by himself, so no champion. Secondly, if we are buying into this nonsense lineal crap, it only goes back to Klitschko, that's it, not back to John L. Sullivan like he erroneously claims. Fury uses the lineal nonsense like a marketing tool, i can't believe his fanboys lap it up. It's pathetic.
Stop it with the linear champion crap... It means nothing,, there is no belt for that. Its like fighting for bragging rights, lol. Nothing is on the line except an I told you so.
His style is like from Charlie Chaplin movies boxers! :) He would be knocked out in the first minute, the first round of most legendary boxers for the past 30 years! Respect for Ruiz, brave heart but Anthony Joshua is the best in the universe, every next opponent will be demolish by Joshua!Ruiz illegally struck Joshua behind his ear and he lost consciousness! But of course it's part of boxing
In a fight, if I knock you to the ground, I could take the top position and cause serious dmg. So to me, when a boxer is knocked down, the boxer has to knock out/down equal or more to win the fight.
That's like a guy winning one event in the World Strongest Man and expecting to win the trophy even though another guy wins all the other events. A boxing match is scored on 12 rounds. Knocking a guy down just wins you that one round. You still have to win the others to get a fair decision.
