@@freddymyres8718 no he wasnt, headclashes are common part of boxing especially if they fight in close range. Headbutts work both ways. Also you gonna just ignore fact that Tyson punched most of his opponent after bell, and used to elbow them.

I will always say Tyson should have kept Kevin Rooney as his trainer..It was a big mistake don't never think that a trainer don't make a difference especially if he was around you when you started out....If Rooney was in his corner am sure he would told him to look at for the head butt...Man he head butted Tyson during the first fight lol!!! Do anybody remember how Rockman head look after fighting Holyfied.....That was a good move try replace the refearee didn't spell it right but don't remember him taking points away from Holyfied for the head butts...But don't remember Lines taking point aways neither for the head butts !!!
Tyson went off with King and took up King's offer of trainers and by doing so did not keep Rooney on which in turn broke their contracted agreements... but way worse than that, it destroyed their friendship because Mike was like Rooney and Cus' family and Cus used to warn Tyson about people like Don King (wolf in sheeps clothing) and Rooney reminded Tyson of that but Don King brought the race card into it and swaded Tyson to choose 'his black brother' over the white dude. Which was crazy.. because of that Rooney took Tyson to court and WON millions but to Rooney that did not mean anything because he knew Cus set out a blue print to him for Tyson and nobody knew the blueprint. After winning millions in court Rooney and Tyson never spoke ever again, Rooney became seriously depressed and turned to alcohol - now he is a full blown over-weight alcoholic and he still can't get over what Tyson did (to all of original team tyson). Rooney's son however is now high-up working for Dazn boxing USA

Tyson was losing 2 to 1 until that ear bite. But thats not good if you consider hes Mike Tyson. Tyson is a fast and agressive starter. Statistically Tyson peak performance comes in first 3 rounds, after that it drops by some margin. Holyfield on other hand is a slower starter, as fight goes on he gets better. Anyway Mike prepared himself for this fight probably more than ever...217 lbs...closest he was to this iirc was against Spinks.

People...stop calling Evander Holyfield a dirty fighter. Heads come together. Further, if someone is butting you, butt him back. Look back on how Ali handled Chuck Wepner. Wepner kept rabbit punching him and when the ref wouldn't do anything, Ali rabbit punched the shit out of Wepner back. You don't spend all the time whining and fussing over the referee. It's a fight.
lol Richie Giachetti is a great trainer, one of greats, he trained Larry Holmes for years and years and almost finished undedeated. He also trained Mike in both fights agaist Razor Ruddock. He had a good trainer in his corner for this fight. Lets not try to blame everything and everyone for his losses against Holyfield. Evander was just something else, dude was a mental mountain.

@@MuhammadAliGOAT peekabo is overrated style, very limited and one dimensional. Its made for shorter guys. If it was that effective everyone would be using it. Floyd Patterson, Cus best student before Mike was best example of it. Anyway back to topic. One of the reasons Mike Tyson fired Rooney and never wanted any peekabo trainer was because he knew pretty much everything about it. He already had 16 years experience with it. So no peekabo trainer could improve his peekabo boxing. Mike didnt even want some experienced trainer. Because his ego wouldnt allow someome to tell him what to do. Thats why he mostly hired his inexpirienced friends as trainers. Giachetti was probably best trainer he had in his career after leaving Catskills. Anyway Holyfield studied Peekabo to perfection and knew how to counter it, as peekabo being one dimensional (only plan A, no plan B) Mike couldnt adapt and adjust to Holyfield.
Tyson was actually winning the second fight but holyfield kept headbutting and tyson bit his ear if all that didn’t happen tyson would probably win the second fight he was serious coming back in round three
I dont belive everything i read but i just read mikes childhood friend rory holloways book taming the beast and it all makes sense it was a great book i suggest all tyson fans to read it he was there from the start he cleared up what happened with tyson and rooney he said kevin was talking about robin alot and mike went to him and said kevin you have to stop thats my wife and kevin looked at mike and said fuck you ill say what ever i want to say about her so mike fired him and never talked to him again then after a couple of fights team tyson seen mike slipping and they wanted rooney back so rory and his friend went to see kevin at his home to ask if he would come back and train mike again and drop the lawsuit rory said kevin looked at them and said 8 million dollars if not get the fuck out of my house i dont want to give anymore away read the book!!

Evander has heart??? I used to think that too but later realised he's the dirtiest fighter in heavyweight history. I also believe he took roids. For me you can't say you have the most heart or are a champion if you do that.....
Certainly in those fights you're correct, such a shame they didn't meet earlier as it would've been interesting to see if Tyson could've overcome Evander.
Tyson wasn't the same after Douglas and especially after prison. Holyfield, while a great fighter was juiced to the gills...it's obvious. If these 2 fought in 1986-1989 Tyson wins.
Everyone back then was on something. That's why it was such a great sport and such great fights. Also why they all had such good recovery and could basically get knocked out and be back on their feet fighting again in 8 seconds. Lol.
