Loneliness is truly the worst punishment. In a world full of social people and not being able to interact would drive anyone insane, who cares if you are introverted. Even introverts need people.
yep. as an introvert, i can attest to that. bugs the HELL out of me! LOL! i'd love to be able to be away from people for the rest of my life but... i know life don't work that way :)
I know it seems like he can do anything he wants due to the invisibility but i think it is more about the loneliness..this episode is like the old episode where the criminal gets killed and thinks he is in heaven because his guardian angel grants his every wish....he soon gets tired of always winning and it turns out his angel is actually the devil and he is in hell.
* Excellent writing and very believable acting....Worth watching. Very touching and thought-provoking...I had tears in my eyes at the end. This was one of the better TZ episodes in my opinion. I just finished watching all three parts, but had to come back to the first and now this second part, so as to share the whole episode on my Google+ channel. I'm trying to comment on all three parts. Thanks for sharing! :)
Nena Elizabeth No. I am an introvert as much as I avoid interacting with people. In a way I long for it and wish it was easy for me and didn’t make me have panic attacks.
im an introvert, quite a bit, but still after being alone for long enough I have to be around people, at least for a little while even if i don't talk to em. Makes me feel human and "good".
True, he could've done anything he pleased but he probably figured it would get boring after a while. Either that or perhaps if he did, the government who sentenced him could add on to his sentence somehow. But there's the lack of companionship or just having someone to talk to. It's not a good feeling to be ignored or treated as if you're not there. Like at the comedy club, it was as if they wanted to get rid of him without actually acknowledging him. So it no longer became fun for him.
Of course it would work. We do it today. It´s not as extreme but we do that today. Think of someone with a criminal record or someone who is the victim of a malicious rumor or someone who is the victim of discrimination.etc.
In the long run, this would only make one worse. If a society ceases to acknowledge an individual, then the individual owes nothing to society. There's not exactly any further deterrent that can be applied, when the whole world has become little more than one's own reality TV show.
In regards to everyone who says that they would do whatever they want, and for those who are wondering why he didn't... there was still a government, even if he was invisible. The drones were watching his every move and the government had the power to force him to stop doing whatever he wanted. They would extend his punishment or increase the level of banishment, in a sense.
Cannsanity One and the same, really, especially where this world is concerned. Those born with the wrong set of genes are the invisible ones. I honestly want this kind of world to be real. Then the cold-hearted ones will know what it's like.
Who cares what people thought in high school? I don't. I did when I was in high school but I'm not a teenager anymore. It shouldn't bother you anymore.
The corvette was traveling in a straight line at him, yet he as an invisible runs away from the corvette in the straight line path the corvette was going instead of running to the side, lol
