Wow that sound brings back memories, wide open through twisty mountain roads in Mpumalanga, South Africa, pure power! The 3MA is probably one of the best two stroke road bikes of all time IMHO.
I've ridden all kinds of bikes but nothing beats the kick in the pants acceleration you get and the screaming banshee sound when you hit the power band on a decent two stroke

sorry to hear that m8, but you missed out on a very special ERA of motorcycling. hear in England most of my m8s had YAMAHA 2 STROKES ...... my first tzr125 did 105 MPH it drove the local POLICE crazy i had a number plate made up saying 1/8 OF A LITER POLICE CAR EATER then i got a tzr250 and WOW this thing was special, so so sad they don"t make them anymore. if you get the chance to buy 1 get it you won"t loose money, stay safe and good luck in these challenging times

Do you know what firing interval these have? Been trying to find out why they sound so different to the 90 degree V-twins like the Honda NSR or Suzuki RGV
I miss my RVG250. I placed the first order in Australia and received the second one off the boat (the first was the company demo). I wouldnt mind one of these either. Mate had a KR1S. BALLSY LIL BEAST THAT WAS TOO.
The sound is amazing! I've got a tzr50r as first bike, with full arrow exhaust - and the power-band kick at 7000 rpm was just breathtaking for that moment
I had a freinds 88 TZR to look after & ride for 3 months in '89, could not get off it afterward without a grin from ear to ear, most fun bike I ever rode & best handling too.
Fucking awesome! I had a TZR125YPVS, which left a long-lasting impression and was hard to beat on the twisties. Always wanted a TZR250 and might yet still get one after watching this, lol.
I make research on this bike this year, I buy an import in 2 weeks. Many thanks for this video, Yamaha was crazy to sold them in 1989, a pure twostroke bike on the road.... 🌌🌄 I run a R1Z 250 today, I can't wait to run the 3ma.
They sound awesome. Im waiting on my bike registration coming through and I will do a couple vids. Mine is just on standard pipes, probably going to get some nice aftermarket lol. Sound lovely 😍
I have the tzr125 belgarda ( 4dl ) which has the same frame as the 3ma, and even that is very nippy and quite lively when that power valve opens up, I can only imagine how it feels to ride one of these beauty’s 🔥🔥
suddenly missed my old Kawasaki AR-80K Liquid Cooled, after my contract here on the ship, i will ride it again! pure 2 stroke spirit! (decals on Yamaha TZR-250RR).
This will put morden inline 4 cylinder bikes to shame. What a beautiful bike this is. Must so much proud to own and ride. This is the reason why I love Yamaha more than any other company. Love this beauty ❤️
