This video is done quite well and entertaining. It makes the building process look so clean and easy breezy. Meanwhile I was at a table in my shop with a huge mess of toothpicks pieces, wax bits, and a little bit of blood....(I jammed a toothpick through the tip of my finger)
I made sure to build, sand , and wax everything perfectly. Mine doesn't work either unless I flick the engine a few times. I guess this is why we don't build cars out of toothpicks and rubberband. Lol!
I had similar problems, I didn't give up on this after the time spent building it, the first issue was the main gear at the back required moving back and fore quite a few times to find its correct gear position, after loading up the elastic bands, no movement, after part stripping the front of the engine, I found that the engine fan was touching the radiator, this was quickly resolved by removing the fan and sanding the flat surface a bit, tested ok, rebuilt and retested, all good, what a marvellous feeling this was.
