Wu-Tang brought you that intelligent, authentic, 1990s era hardcore New York street rap in a way that didn't glorify the streets like N.W.A but didn't sugarcoat it either. They also lived what they rapped about but gave you narration as opposed to glamorization. Listen to "Cold World", "C.R.E.A.M.", "Can It Be All So Simple", "I Gotcha Back", and "A Better Tomorrow", and "All That I Got Is You" for starters.
yeah Wutang clan was more raw than NWA, easy e & those Jerry curl dudes were more commercial just like Dre & Snoop.....NYC in general has always been more complex & intriguing over California.
U-GOD is a Wu LEGEND! He used to KILL it on VERESES but he never got the SUPPORT he DESERVED on his albums production wise. "BIZARRE" tho, is STILL one of the HARDEST Wu tracks EVER!

Absolutely, I remember listening to Wu Tang, La the Darkman, Big L(RIP), Mobb Deep, Sunz of Man,etc. They were always dropping dope lyrics and knowledge, might as well put these experiences to pages and bind em in a book.
One of the best interviews on The Breakfast Club. I grew up on the WU and enjoy anything having to do with them, especially inside stories from the "original" god (sorry CTG, lol). I'm literally ordering the book as soon as I'm done typing this...

Wu is up there amongst the greatest rap groups. People talk about their top 5 rappers but we hardly talk about groups. The impact that groups had cannot be understated - Public Enemy, Wu Tang Clan, Run DMC, Onyx, Bone Thugs 'n' Harmony...
Can't compare 10 niggas to Duos, Flav is a Hype Man, and Bone is a whole diffent style, Wu Tang is for the children and it is forever, no other anything in anything music has 3 top 5 Mc's a top 3 producer and ODB who ain't got no father to his style.
