They tried to say only a madman would take this mission, lucky they found me instead. (It's pretty sad that fanboys could almost make a Capcom game for free better than Capcom can sell poor games people don't want.)

FUCKING AWESOME! MY only complaint, and I'll admit its a nitpick unless you're an aviation nerd. The variable incidence wing on the F-8 Crusader is designed to stay up for takeoff instead of retracting.

Most of the video is visually very impressive. However, the flight crew's arms felt very stiff, disjointed, and puppet like. Move your arms in the way they do in the video and see how the upper arms naturally want to move with the lower arms. Could add a touch more realism to your videos.

Showed this to a buddy of mine from the USAF and his reaction was "all those dials; my fingers bleed just seeing them." So, great work. :D 10/10 would enjoy/traumatize again.

L.P. Enjoy your replies. I wish Konami would release another compilation of their 1986-1992 arcade games for PS2 or Xbox. Taito Vol 1 & 2 along with the Namco museum collection on the PS1 was good. (Liked having to press the select button on the controller to add credits! Minus the cabinet, was like acrade at home.) That is what I'm yearning for, but it seems like I'm gonna' have to learn about MAME and emulate on my PC what hasn't been released for the consoles. Thx for reading & replying.

I agree with Ventipossum...your game intros are amazing. Talk about breathing new life into old games! If the game companies (Hello Konami!) ever wise up and use home grown talent like yours the demand for these games would explode! The way I feel right now I would buy U.N. Squadron (the re-release) just for your video alone! Btw, did you notice that Capcom did not put U.N. Squardron on their Capcom Classics Collection? Yep, unless its hidden or unlockable, I've not seen it on Volume 1 or 2.

Yes, and? He stuck with the right font on Mega Man II, I am fine with that. He just picked some bad fonts in this one, and I know he can do better - "rushing it" in the description probably applied more to everything else going on in this clip. But since "picking the right fonts" among other things is my day-job I noticed it and commented - also, I own a couple of the CPS1-boards so I noticed the "off" font right away. He may or may not care, but I posted anyway.

But it makes no sense from a design standpoint. Also, the font on both the cab and the SNES port is a lot different. Especially the headlines (which are obviously not Garamond (or similar)). The point is, he did a much better job picking suitable high-res fonts in basically everything else retro he did - so, I wanted to hear from him what the idea behind that was (if any). This way it's just a horrible mash-up that does neither work from a retro nor slick high-res perspective.

Oh, no trust me... I understand that much... but yeah you are right... Unfortunatly all game companies seem to see now a days are dollar signs, and they'll do what ever they can to make and maintain a profit, which now adays seem to be by rushing out half baked rehashes of every other game out there to appeal to the "Current" gaming market

Leonomus Prime you are right. A point I hadn't realized when I made that comment. But would you agree that whether its Japanese or US developers, they are capable of missing the boat by not giving the public what they want...when they could? (Although as I'm typing this the realization of profit is probably what affects their decision.)

Only two things I didn't agree, that it took place night/dusk/dawn in the intro and Shin's hair wasn't blond in the game, he was in the TV series though so that's alright. The song before the actual intro song, I think you could have picked a better song in my opinion. Other than that, hearing the intro and hearing those turbines ready for launch...perfect!

Cel-animation and realistic CGI never works for me - no exception here. Also I don't understand the fonts you chose. Some of it is pixelated, then you got the serif-fonts with horrible layer-effects and the awesome logo all mixed up. Everything from 2:00 is pretty awesome, the rest not so much.

Absolutely awesomely well done! This was one of my favorite SNES titles and I still play it sometimes on ZNES. For a "rushed" effort, you sure did great justice to this great game. :)

Okay, I have to admit that about half way though I was thinking "The only thing wrong with this is the lack of music." Que an AWESOME version of said music starting. NICE.

It's still just as good as the others for such a "rushed" job, and I'm not just saying that. Keep up the good work and hope you find success in all your future endeavors.

makes me wish Capcom would do an HD remake of UN Squadron, though there'd be licensing issues (though if they can get Disney to let them remake Duck Tales, I'm sure they'd get approval for this). I did have one issue (and sorry if it's been brought up before), in this the wing on the jet locks in, but actually the F-8 had a wing that would tilt up during landing and take off for better angle of attack. This is why unlike most other naval aircraft of its time, it doesn't have a tall front gear.
