In today's video, we are sharing pour 2 of 3 with this Alcohol Ink artwork. To watch the first pour that was created view our recent video:
For anyone that may be unfamiliar with Alcohol Ink, it is another form of fluid art that consists of pigments in a solvent-based liquid (alcohol) that is used like an ink. It is commonly used on ceramics or Yupo Paper (or synthetic paper) however, in this video we are working on an Aluminium board.
The benefit of working on these ACM boards is the ability to wipe off the inks if you are unhappy with the results of the pour. At the start of this video you will see we flooded the board with isopropyl alcohol and wiped it clean with a microfibre cloth. The board was then ready to go again, as if it was brand new!
After this piece was dried, we applied a couple of coats of varnish to seal the inks in. We will then apply a clear coat of resin for a pop of shine to the piece (seperate coating video coming soon).
