I don't think I've listened to this song since the 80s! I was 16 when it hit MTV and the radio. For the next 6 months or so it was in frequent rotation. You couldn't get away from it if you tried. So I kind of got burned out on it. It kinda stings to say that now. As I'm watching this I'm so happy that I got to experience this in my lifetime! I didn't recognize the magnitude of greatness that this video would become! Some of these performers were at the beginning of their careers, some were already icons. The sadness sets in when you think that some of them are no longer with us! Thank you for this reaction and for taking me back to an awesome era! New sub here!

The man standing by Harry Belafonte is comic actor Dan Ackroyd. Dan was one of the early SNL cast members. And an awesome musician as well. He was half of SNL music/comedy duo the Blues Brothers with John Belushi. And in the middle of it all is 60's voice of his generation and counter-culture icon, Bob Dylan. FYI - his son Jakob Dylan fronted 90's singing sensation group The Wallflowers. Michael Jackson wrote this song and it was produced by Quincy Jones. Like others in the day, I counted down the days to watch it's debut on MTV or VH1. I don't remember which one. The pairing of Stevie Wonder & Bruce Springsteen was genius. Their voices contrasted beautifully.

Thanks! You actually knew something about the record before you played it. You also know most of the singers. Very smart of you.

So glad you did this....I love that song to this day. I agree, it would be hard to get this caliber of musicians together today to make a song and 'leave their ego's at the door'. The girl with the sunglasses on the front is Sheila E. and after Bruce was Kenny Loggins, Steve Perry, lead singer for Journey, and Huey Lewis. Great reaction!

You were questioning someone and it was Kenny Loggins... He sang "Footloose" and many, many others.

I watched We are the World behind the scene , after American Music Award all Artists go straight to the recording studio wearing the same outfit they had for the awards night. They need to learn the Lyrics , melody and execute their lines perfectly bcoz they've never heard the song , they did the recording and editing from 9PM to 2AM without proper sleep and *_without_* Autotune 😂
