U.S. Air Force Pararescue Training | Pararescuemen PJ
Pararescuemen provide emergency and life-saving services for thousand missions the U.S. military performs and frequently deploy with U.S. Navy SEALs and U.S. Army Special Forces. Their motto "That Others May Live" reaffirms the pararescueman's commitment to saving lives. The process of becoming a "PJ" is known informally as "Superman School". Almost two years long, it's among the longest special operations training courses in the world.

I spent almost a decade in ranger regiment, I always say besides my ranger buddies the AFSOC guys that I’ve met and worked with are the coolest and most impressive men in the world. CCT’s, JTAC’s, etc. But PJ’s… thank God for PJ’s. They’re like doctors who can shoot, move, and communicate with the best of them. Literally.

@@andrewgromovoy1619 No matter how powerful you say now, almost all of them died in the first round of the invasion of Ukraine. We SFs from different countries are all laughing at Russia, how can it be so rubbish? It may not be the soldiers themselves that are rotten, but the Russian army is rotten, and this cannot be refuted. Otherwise you cannot explain how an entire regiment of excellent soldiers could be lost in a single battle. I am from Taiwan. I am a SF soldier and a doctor. I have received help and training from PJ. I know that the strength of the United States cannot be matched even if the whole world unites. Only ignorant people will underestimate the United States.

That's why Delta can't switch, they are not allowed. Delta takes everybody for their process including National Guard. No way in hell would the AF send a doctor into combat lol. A doctor enters the service as a Maj. so that rank alone kinda eliminates the possibility of them seeing combat.
@TheGreenfoot

@@MrZachgonz The AF has sent at least one MD into combat. He was not an Officer. He was a PJ that graduated from med school while in service and by my knowledge was the only enlisted MD ever on active duty. Does not mean he was the only one, but if there are others I never knew about them.

Do they have to learn basic first aid or do they go deeper Into detail like first responders?
@dallasyap3064
@dallasyap3064 3 года назад
They start out with EMT Basic. After that they go on with Paramedic which is the highest level of emergency medical care in the US. There are 4 levels in the US, from the most basic to the most advanced, Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B), Advanced-Emergency Medical Technician (A-EMT) and Paramedic (P). Pararescuemen are at the Paramedic level, throughout their careers they go on to train much more in other skills as well.

@@dallasyap3064 aren't they battlefield surgeon certified as well? Not that I understand what that means, I'm guessing they are capable of basic surgery operations for GSDs and other more serious Battlefield trauma where transport to à field hospital is not available at that time?
@dallasyap3064
@dallasyap3064 3 года назад
@@Alhy-ls3dv yes from what I know these guys conduct battlefield surgeries as well. They are not just a typical paramedic. Being a paramedic is just their baseline, they are more than that. They will eventually learn more advanced medical skills as they progress through their careers.

I’m trying to join the airforce for either this or becoming a pilot as a former athlete. Is there any requirements like a certain amount of years to even apply for this? Like I don’t know how to swim but the running distance and the physical part I feel I can handle or improve on

Fundamentally there are two school of thoughts to produce legit operators. The “brake and rebuild” doctrine followed by SF and SOF across all Branches and the “time-method” followed by PJ’s in their 2yr long training. Both have the same fallout rates (75-85% for SF, SOF and PJ), but statistics show that the mental issues and PTSD experienced by the active duty operators in PJ’s are significantly less than any JSOC company. Of course the objective of pararescue cannot be compared with ones around raid, assault, DA and reconnaissance. But that’s a small difference for most parents out there or their young athletic action seeking offsprings.
