U.S. Economy in Crisis, the Demise of the American Dream & China's Rise w/ Prof. Richard Wolff

The latest economic data shows that the U.S. is still battling inflation, which is no secret to the American people as they are feeling the pain every time they visit the grocery store. As for the dream of home ownership, that is unattainable for many Americans, as home prices have soared and the Fed keeps interest rates high, and the increase in wages is nowhere near the increase in the living costs.
Prof. Richard Wolff, an Economist and founder of Democracy at Work, noted that as the American middle class is shrinking, the U.S. is facing one thing it hasn't in decades: a legitimate competitor on the world stage. While the U.S. Empire may be declining, China is on the rise...

lol no. that doesnt make the rich rich, or back up the social control system. the us elite take pride in how little they can get by doing without the peasants even making a noise. the less than they can do, the better. they will always only do the bare minimum. this is individualism. we are not a society. we are not in this together. we are cattle and they are lords. the dumber we are the better. the top 1/3 can get educated and the rest is managed by importing the best brains from around the world. thats how the US works.

Investors are still in denial about the fundamentals of the economy. They expect rares will soon be cut and believe the topline GDP numbers signal a strong economy. However, they dont. Credit card balences are maxed out, more credit is hard to come by for consumers, a ton of companies are about to beforced into refinancing their debs at far higher interest and the regional bank backstop program is out this month. There's also the fact that inflation ticks higher than expected every single time the markets believe a rate cut is around the corner and a rate cut would cause a surge in inflation. The fed sees this stuff, guys. The only wild card for us investors is to actively engage the market by trading, we always over complicate things when we speculate. It's not about guessing the market's next move; it's about playing it smart and steady during trading...managed to grow a nest egg of around 100k to a decent 732k in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Linda Wilburn, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

People dont understand that the prices of things are never going back down. This inflation is deeper than we think. Those buying groceries are well aware that the real inflation is much over 10%. The increments dont match our income, yet certain investors still earn over $365,000 in stocks and assets. Wish I could accomplish that.

It would seem to me that if we know we're on a rapid decline, the solution would be to have a pronounced pullback of all military assets to the US. That would save us billions alone. Secondly, we need to stop sending our money to any other nation, regardless of reason. We're in a crisis, and we have to look after ourselves first. That would also save us billions. By spending that money exclusively on fixing and upgrading our own infrastructure, we're creating good jobs here in the US where those students will be able to see opportunities. Sadly, I don't see any of that happening though, and we're going the way of the Roman Empire, but it'll happen a lot faster.

US govt is in bubble along with the billionaire donor class who only care about filling their pockets and seem to think the ride can continue. There is a reason they keep doubling down on stupid. The reason US goes into most countries is to steal resources. It seems power and greed really make people stupid.

Over the next 10 years Africa is going to start to build a block similar to the EU. China and Russia are going to help develop them. @MikeGuvick Peer does apply because the US doesn’t really produce very much. It’s mainly a financial hub. Somehow the inflation calculation does not include the food and energy costs in it's calculations. The reason they say it is because it is too difficult to calculate. It just happens that it is impossible to come up with 2-3 % inflation rates if you include just the food inflation which is above 18%.

Politics determines how wealth is distributed within a country, while wars and diplomacy determine how wealth is distributed between countries. These are not good outcomes of US government policies for US citizens: Economic inequality, inflation, stagnant real wages for the last fifty years, costly healthcare, an expensive education system, student loan debt totaling $1.7 trillion with an average balance of $38,000, poor public transportation systems, racial inequality, mass incarceration, the militarization of police, deteriorating infrastructure, housing affordability, homelessness, the opioid epidemic, and gun violence. Instead of prioritizing the welfare of their people, they meddle in other countries to spread their version of democracy. Anywhere in the world, if there is a border dispute, it is usually the result of a line drawn by an Englishman; if it is an internal dispute, it is usually the US fueling it. Difference in implementation of divide and conquer strategy.

The approach of the United states hostile policies, solutions and methods Adopted to deal with issues leads to further hostility, instability, degradation, conflict, chaos and war. This has been the outcome for the past 100 years. The leadership of the United States, the advisors and financiers alike have largely consisted of hostile individuals rather than individuals with rational and diplomatic approach. This hostile approach has gone on for far too long. It's bad enough participating in a democratic election process where the major party’s candidates are selected by the ruling class. It's even worse when the selection largely consist of individuals who prescribes to a hostile approach to the way the U.S. government conduct affairs, especially when hostility is their first approach, and solution to everything.
