After a year of use i give my review of the U.S G.I cold weather "Mickey" boots. I purchased mine from Colemans Military Surplus.

Hy, thank you for the great review. would you say it's confort enough to walk like 10 miles? or more?

Thank you. For me it was comfortable for 8+ miles. That was on trail. Once on pavement it wasn't as comfortable.

Thanks. What about traction on snow and wet ice? Broke my back some time ago and don't want to slip and fall again...

For me they worked good. I would even use them when shoveling snow and sometimes it was icy and I wasn't slipping and sliding around.

@@JasonOutdoors Right on! Thank you for getting back so quick. Believe it or not I found size 9r at a walmart coming in from a 3rd party surplus store. I do 10s usually but I went down 1 size because of many recommending this as they are 1 size larger. We'll see.

Anyone have any idea if you can take the valveless Mickey Mouse boots onto commercial aircraft in your luggage without any damage to the boots due to pressure?

From what I've read the valve was put in to keep the boots from rupturing in unpressurized aircraft. Unless the luggage compartment was pressurized I think it could be an issue.

How do I stop them from digging into my legs/shin? I love these boots they're great for subzero temps but I swear no matter what kind of sox I wear they always ride down and I have to keep pulling them up I really don't want to wear thermal underwear since I'm already in artic Carhartts and would be to warm is there a trick to stop them from rubbing my legs all day?

Written on the tags that came on the boots, it explains that you take the top of your socks and fold them over the top of the boots. This is what I do and haven't had issues.

@@JasonOutdoors oh wow ok thanx. I got mine handed down so never had any tags but ill def try that tomorrow been working in this beautiful sub zero wind-chill midwest weather lol. Also what about the laces is there a reason they're thin and kinda hard could I replace them with longer ones like a regular boot lace?

Oh yeah, perfect weather to be wearing those lol. I don't see why you couldn't put new laces on. The only thing that I think would be important is to keep the lacing the same because they have that double lace thing going on half way up.

From the cutaway images I've seen it looks to be a thick felt material.

I wear US 11 and I'm planning to wear these with thin socks, should I get a US 9 then?

If I had to guess I would say probably. I haven't tried on a size 9 so I could say for sure.

The ones I got are now 59 bucks but most sizes are gone. I see that others are now up to 149 like you said. Great boots but at that price commerical made might be a better option.

@@JasonOutdoors i see the valveless option is $59. I might have to try those. They are pretty proud of that valve.....lol
