It's disheartening to see how the Romanian gymnast was stripped of her well-deserved medal after a contestation, while everyone is focusing on the wrong issue. She is the real victim here, not the American gymnast. The hypocrisy in the gymnastics world is glaring. Instead of celebrating the talent and dedication that brought her to the podium, people are turning a blind eye to the injustice done to her. It's time we recognize who truly suffered from this decision and stop pretending that fairness was upheld.
If the judges missed a skill entirely (rather than a dispute about a subjective matter, such as a .1 vs .3 step deduction) then the 1-minute rule shouldn’t even come into play.
Logic and reason is strong here Blake. I can’t even disagree. I was looking at other arguments for the Romanians but what you said is so true. With them adding the skill it simply bumped her ahead of everyone.
The judges did not miss a thing. They just wanted to give it to Romania. Nonsense. US will be fighting for that medal. Do like we Americans do, sue them in Paris court or even better in US court. Bring them to the US.
@@Jeanne90275that’s my other issue, if someone feels robbed why isn’t Sabrina in the talk! Tech she’d get 13.8, Barbosa had 13.7 and got same deduction but did step out! Not my job JUDGES? Hello
UPDATE: USA Gymnastics is appealing the decision, submitting video evidence showing that the verbal inquiry made by Coach Landi was done 47 seconds within the allotted 1-minute time. So we'll have to see what happens next.
Jordan stepped miles outside of the area, with both feet. The Romanian was demonstrated to not have stepped outside, therefore, should never have been penalized.
What does that have to do with the price of French fries in Paris? What you mentioned has nothing to do with the controversial decision to take Jordan's bronze medal away and give it to an undeserving gymnast.
@@puremustang732 I'm just a person who knows the judges didn't give Jordan her correct score. That may or may not have been a deliberate act. They later did the correct thing and awarded Jordan her medal, but the Romanians were sore losers. They cried and regressed to the stage of terrible two. I can only imagine how they looked as they were on the floor kicking, screaming, and holding their breath until they turned blue in the face. Talk about being childish and feeling a sense of entitlement!
This is f up from the committee if they knew that why did they made her 3rd place for then. That’s their fault. They need to give both of them a medal each bc they messed up and made someone going through hard time now
Terrible judging! The other Romanian gymnast who originally came in fifth and was dinged for a non-existent out-of-bounds step probably deserved the bronze. Very, very unfair to all three athletes.
If she gets her medal then Thompson from Jamaica should get his gold in a tied race, because JA didn’t file appeal in time and race should have been decided on hundreds not thousands of a second.
I read that USAG(?) is going to appeal the CAS decision? Gosh Idk but please make it stop. It's saddening for all the ladies involved. I'm sure they are so over it. Even Ana released a statement saying she hopes to share the podium with Jordan and Sabrina in LA28.
To be fair, it's a good decision. I felt straight away the Romanian girl was robbed, and when I went online, I saw many people writing the same thing. Ana Barbosu deserves that medal. I'm sorry for Jordan Chiles, having the dream dangled in front of her and then taken away, but justice must be accomplished.
The situation is even more complicated. The judges incorrectly scored another Romanian gymnast, wrongly deducting points for stepping out of bounds (which they omitted to when reviewing video evidence). This error placed her in fourth. Romania tried to appeal, but it was too late. During this process, it was also found that Jordan's coach missed the 1-minute window to petition. The correct scoring would have placed the Romanian gymnast in 3rd (initially placed 4th), Jordan in 4th (initially placed 5th), and Ana in 5th (initially placed 3rd). I'm angry on behalf of all three of these women. I'm so sorry. Take strength in knowing your performances inspired many. Be proud of your excellence.
The judges shouldn't have changed their score. It's not one but several judges. One judge can make mistake but not all the judges. This is a subjective scoring system. Stick to your score even if you're being pressured by a strong team.
The Olympic committee set a dangerous precedent here by reversing a judging panel's decision to accept an inquiry and change a score via the gymnastics rules and process. They took it to the level of stripping an athlete of their medal days later after having had a ceremony and the athlete went home, over a matter of 4 seconds that is arbitrary anyway as the panel never timed the process. They accepted randem video footage provided by Romania who actually benefited.
All of the videos in this electronic age will be arriving. The CAS does not have to worry about the Romanians lying. We are in an electronic age. So let's see the CAS and Romanians walk around this one.
Moving from one battleground to the other battleground in order to win the medals of honour and peace of nation that she shares with and for all the world. Lord bless USA.
The US is now saying they submitted the inquiry within 47 seconds. The Olympic committee never gave them time to create a defense or present evidence before they issued their decision. No due process.
IOC is showing their racism and displeasure of the display of pure respect and love shown by Jordan and Simon towards Rebecca. Its the podium celebration stupid.
The Romanian Olympic official made a false accusation without evidence to back their claim. The inquiry was timestamp at 47 second followed by a second one at 55 seconds no way was that 4 seconds over the 1 minute mark. The us filed an appeal

@@puremustang732 so a black athlete should accept her lower score when they misjudged her in the first place and she can’t contest it then in your bigot world. The Romanian grazed the floor with her toes. Its out of bounds

You must learn to let go of material things the medal is a material thing, just try harder for 2028 and you might win one remember Snoop will be watching. Bye!🦮😛🤔
