U.S Marines - Eagle, Globe, and Anchor speech by the Company First Sergeant
U.S. Marine Corps First Sergeant Flores, the Company First Sergeant with Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, gives a speech during the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor Ceremony aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif. The Eagle, Globe and Anchor Ceremony takes place after the Crucible and signifies the transformation from recruit to Marine. (U.S. Marine Corps)
The Crucible is a 54-hour culminating event recruits must go through to earn
the title of United States Marine while training at Marine Corps Recruit
Depot San Diego. This event consists of several team-building activities and
allows recruits to take on leadership roles by being the squad leaders of
the challenge. In this final event is where the Drill Instructors can see all the work they have done and where the recruits put all their skills they have learnt to use. After this culminating event, is where the recruits are awarded their life changing Eagle Globe and Anchor and forever will be Marines!!
