I made an error on 1824. John Quincy Adams won as that particular election was decided by the House of Representatives. If you notice any errors please let me know. I will correct it after the 2012 election when I do an updated version.

2. "Rhapsody In Blue" by Gershwin
3. "An American In Paris" by Gershwin
4. "Rhapsody In Blue" by Gershwin
5. "Symhony No 9 In E Minor Op 95 'From The New World'" by Dvorak
6. "Poor Old Joe" by Stephen Foster
7. "Symphony No 9 In E Minor Op 95 'From The New World'" by Dvorak
8. "I Wish I Was In Dixie's Land" by Emmett
9. "Battle Hymn Of The Republic" by Steffe-Howe

As a Polish citizen I'm really jealous for Your continuity of constitution, law, and the republic. 19 years after the USA gained independence my country was beaten and it disappeared. But before this happened we had a Constitution, that gave us hope for a modern country just like the states. After this we had... (not counting the 1st one) - 6 constitutions, Duchy, Kingdom, Occupation, Republic, Occupation, Communist Government, and now the Republic again... Now I hope that Poland will have a calm and bright future. Absolutely love the USA, I hope it will be strong forever, and that it will guard the democracy and freedom in the whole world!

n the United States presidential election of 1824, John Quincy Adams was elected President on February 9, 1825, after the election was decided by the House of Representatives.

Interesting argument although I believe it be incorrect. Mr. Hanson's title was "President of the United States in Congress Assembled" and that's not the same thing as simply "President of the United States." I will agree, however, that Mr. Hanson was our nation's first chief executive.

No, what is today the Democratic Party (the party of Thomas Jefferson) was initially called "Republican" but that got changed later. It has nothing to do with the current Republican Party which dates back to Abraham Lincoln.

Disregard the "Monroe Doctrine" comment; at the same time I typed this I was also doing some adjacent work and did an erroneous cut and paste.

Nice video. The sparse popular vote notes you make from 1800-1820 are not necessarily. No popular vote was used for consideration in the EC until the contested election of 1824.

John Hanson was our first president under the Articles of Confederation from 1781 to 1789.

Good video. A couple of things come to mind watching it. Notice how popular Richard Nixon was in 1972 when his presidency was being defined by his accomplishments rather than Watergate. Notice too that in the election of 2000 democratic candidate Al Gore didn’t even carry his own state of Tennessee. And one correction to the video, John Quincy Adams defeated Andrew Jackson in 1824 (decided by the House of Representatives), President from 1825-1829 thus setting the stage for the Monroe Doctrine.

Well, USA is not a democracy like Sweden or UK(I know it is a monarchy but the government is democratic-based.) Which means that there is a different voting regulations. I agree that it isn't fair but we cannot do anything about it.

Sweet! I had the desire to do something like this, but didn't have the ability. I was thinking of having a shape of Congress and the Senate too where the Congress seats didn't change their individual size as more seats are required.
