I've wanted to make a No.6 vid for a long long time, even started one with another song, but didn't finish it. Then some weeks ago, I heard this song. It was around 1 am, and I was half asleep, but I saved the lyrics and named the file "NEED TO MAKE NO.6 AMV LIKE YESTERDAY" (I'm very coherent when sleepy, can you tell?)
So the next day after work, I started working on this. The worst thing were the lyrics. Not the text in the video, but the actual lyrics, because I swear, there are 3 different versions of them floating around the internet, and then variations. So I listened to probably every live WT version of this song, searched through countless pages, even the Within Temptation fanclubs, but still I wasn't sure about everything. So I cut the lyrics, and just used some parts. Surprisingly, it doesn't look that bad. Which is a pretty nice change, considering the texts in my videos always look somehow out of place.
Also, this should have been a gen vid, but I blame the lyrics (not that I needed any excuse XD).

You know I probably would have been 10x more okay if it weren't for Nezumi screaming "Shion" near the end. Even if I'm doing something else, with this tab playing, I don't have to see anything (which I usually do) but every time I hear that one "Shion" I have to pause whatever I'm doing for a moment and just kind of sit there and silently cry for a bit.

I remember being totally blown away by the emotions this edit carried as a child. As a result, I came to watch the anime but quickly dropped it because I couldn’t understand such mature thematics. I gave a second try to the anime in my late teen years but I felt like I hadn’t totally grasp its meaning. Now that I’m playing this edit again, I feel like achieving to pursue the meaning behind this edit which enthralled me in the first place

op if you're still out there i want you to know that i still watch this amv even ten years later. i don't think there's ever been a more perfect song choice in the history of amv making and every time i convince someone to watch no. 6 i tell them they HAVE to watch this directly after. sometimes i forget i have both this version of the song and the studio version downloaded until i scare someone with nezumi screaming for shion while we're in the car but even when i listen to the studio version it feels empty without it. hope you're doing well wherever you are!

Je ne pence pas avoir déjà écouter cette chanson sans fondre en larme, c'est juste magnifique, et le montage est l'un des mieux réaliser qu'il me fut donner de voir.. Cette vidéo à tout pour émouvoir et mériterais d'être connut de tous les fan de N°6 ! No.6 might be very short and fast paced, but it’s a masterpiece. The animation, the characters, the plot. It’s all so amazing and drawn and written in such a way that is amazing and makes it the best masterpiece. The explanations might be brief, but it gives us enough clarification so that it doesn’t entirely confuses us.

On everything I own, this video needs a reward. It is BY far the BEST video I've seen of No.6, and I've seen countless. At first, I thought it was just going to be so-so, but my opinion changed instantly and now I'm fighting the urge to cry. So little videos focus on the actual suspense and terror in No.6 that make it such a unique and finely-crafted novel/anime. I applaud you. You should enter this in a contest or something.
