Decided to take my son to this show when he was 10. It was his first concert. This was the last song of the show. As we were leaving, I told him you started at the very top and you’ll never see another show better than that.
This was our fifth anniversary. I surprised my German with excellent tickets. Vanderbilt Stadium has only had two acts perform there. The Stones and U2. We left after an encore. We had a bit of traffic then a drive. But before we reached the garage, we heard the melodic start of this song. My husband took me in his arms and we began to slowly dance. Soon, other couples joined us. It was the romantic and beautiful night, EVER!!
I was there in the inner circle for that moment about 30 feet away I guess and that was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in a live show, nah, THE coolest...such a privilege to be there for the moment!
First time I've seen this and I thought it was cool right until Adam and Larry came in, then it was complete. To give that man the stage was one thing, then to allow him to make the song his own was such a great great thing, and another notch in the reasons I've been a U2 fan for the past 28 years.
At the beginning of the clip I was thinking "Wow, this is great. Maybe Bono will let him keep the guitar... nah he'd never let go of his Irish Falcon." then at the end... my goodness. He gave the man his Irish Falcon... kudos.
So this is my cousin! His wife actually changed my diapers when I was a baby! So Adam has been a big fan of U2 for a long time, him, his kids, and some of my other cousins(big family) went to the show. They had real close seats, because once again he is a huge fan, and he had a sign that said "Blind Guitar Player". Adam is a wicked guitar player and he's taught all of his kids and at our family talent show(we have a reunion every year) he has even played U2 songs. Bono saw the sign and brought him up to play for an encore. Adam's wife Andrea, my diaper changer haha, wasn't at the show I believe and so he dedicated that song to her. He has that guitar in a special case in his music room and won't let anyone touch it haha! The story doesn't end there though, Bono reached out and told Adam to hit him up if he ever wants to come out to a show again! Was really awesome for the whole family to see him up there, it was a dream come true for him!
Awesome!!! U2 has got to be the classiest band ever! That is easily one of the coolest things I've ever seen on RU-vid. Bono just earned a special place in heaven.
I seen U2 a few times..Once in about '82 there first tour here in the US I think...It was unBelieveable..Crysler Hall Norfolk Va.,and maybe another time inbetwen,Before Oakland this past year.. What Perfect Bookends ...there was only one thing missing..pw.
@Greed4Speed you know I think the end of that era has little to do with u2 getting older, they have plenty of tunes left in them, I think it's more the audience, u2 sing about the great struggles of being human, love, loyalty, friendship, betrayal, frankly I just don't think there is much audience for that anymore... maybe I'm wrong, any youngsters our here? :) Bono sang Jerusalem in Glasto, what a gesture! yet all the young audience raved about was Coldplay's... confetti and outfits
@Chetbakersings Actually, @3:18 Bono turns while still singing, that might give him a clue where to look, because he knows Bono's walking in that direction.
Ye this man being blind an all, he played better than bono did so he gave him his guitar, his only guitar the famous green one, absolutely unbelievably outstanding ,, chamoan,,oooh hooo!
Adam Bewell durante ese recital en Nashville sostenia un cartel diciendo que era un guitarrista ciego, Bono lo vio y lo invito a tocar ¨All want....¨, encima le regalo la viola!.
