I was there!!. Super cool as it was my 50th birthday, watching my favourite band, just 2Kms from where I was born in Surry Hills just half a century before. But the best part was that my oldest son busted his guts working in McDonalds for weeks, to gift me the tickets to the concert. He was the champion on this occasion. Sorry U2, but you for the first time got out done in my world.
Wow what a story, so glad you were able to be there! They were the band that made me fall in love with music and are still my very favourite, to be there with my dad who introduced me to them when I was seven years old was unbelievable. Best day of my life
@@alexprince8504 I didn't mention that I had fractured 3 of my ribs 10 days before the concert. I was afraid that I wasn't going to make it to the concert, but I dosed up on prescription analgesic medication and my wife drove us in the car for 5 hours from home to Sydney, plus a further 1.5 hours walking and taking public transport to the SCG. All that being said it was so worth the effort and I have never forgotten Larry Mullen opening the show with Sunday Bloody Sunday. What a great night!!
@@ddt677 wow that sounds like a whole family effort! Would’ve been tragic if you’d missed out, totally agree with you since I was standing about 5 metres from the B stage so Sunday Bloody Sunday began right in front of me!
