A human metronome. It's relatively easy to cover up some missed beats or off-tempo hits when playing the full kit...but to keep perfect beat with just a tambourine is just pure talent.

I was there. and it was a genuinely spine tingling moment. This was the first time Noel had performed live since the Manchester bombing, and Don't Look Back In Anger had become the kinda anthem of defiance. So when he didn't perform it as part of his opening act I wondered if maybe he had decided to drop it as he didn't want to perform it again live until he was back in Manchester. But to do it this way was perfect, and made for a perfect way to end the night.
Noel rocks. No rock song made in the 90's and 00's is as great as this one (of course I'm not counting the past seven years because there are no basis of comparison) This is just genius, even other artists "borrow" this song because it's just so genuinely superb. No Coldplay, Blur, RHCP, Pearl Jam, Nirvana etc song will ever become such an anthem.
You heard the other Oasis tunes? All of them are so amazing. Champagne, slide away, live forever, gas panic, listen up, masterplan. Oasis imo is the best song writing band oat.
Gracious would have been going backstage and letting Noel take center stage - not leering from 3 feet away, drinking water and otherwise being a distraction. I spent the entire song expecting Bono to take a verse. It's called showmanship.
It was a U2 show. Why would Bono not be onstage during a U2 show? Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Leave the stage, it's 'People paid good money to see you so stay your ass out there/Bono's ego is so big he can't stand to play second fiddle'. Stay out there and sing and it is 'Asshole couldn't let Noel have his moment'. Stand and watch and it is this crap. Can't please perfection.
oh my god, its heartbreaking to see this comments section. Oasis fans divided between 'noel' and 'liam' fanboys. Oasis is an icon, an icon of music, and if ur gonna fight over liam and noel, ur fighting over what makes up that icon. Noel and Liam make up oasis, and i love both equally. Yes, liam made mistakes and noel couldnt handle it. but at the end of the day can we stop fighting over one of the greatest bands that existed and truly be MADFERIT instead?
U2 are legends as is Noel one, which I'm going to see them on the 22 July in Croke park (can't wait) I'm a huge fan of Noel.s I went to see him three time in Dublin from the first solo gig with the HFB in the Olympia theatre fucking amazing that was. Noel just looked out of sorts on stage with the boys, maybe he still can't believe he going on tour with the best live show ever bar none (pop tour 1997 landsdowne Road and 360 tour Croke part 2009 I was lucky to be at both) can't wait for the next one

Not sure why Noel is getting so much shit from people who think they're Oasis fans. Liam was only a good front man when he was singing his brothers songs. Where have all these people been who are suddenly shocked that Noel would open for a band he's friends with? Is anybody shocked by his friendships with Morrissey, Marr or Weller?
Bunch of moaners on here. Seems no one can appreciate a genuinely good moment anymore. Ok Noel prob should have done it on it on his own but this is actually a gesture from Bono saying you know what that song is as big as anything I've done so I'm going to get you up with our set. You just can't please everyone I guess.
My thoughts exactly, I thought this was a masterclass, noel still absolutely nails this song and it was nice to see the edge try something a bit different
U2 were good in the early days around the time of the "War" album. Not much cop once the political agenda & guitar shaped swimming pools came along. Oasis were by all standards a great band who also dropped the ball after fame hit. I think it is very immature & disingenuous to call them "shit"? I listen to & play a *LOT* of music & have done for 40 years & when Oasis were good they were *FUCKING* good!
This is hilarious watching Team Noel and Team Liam duke it out. This will go on for a long time until they both realize they can be great artists separately or the best together. Liam is on such a massive comeback I am proud of him.
Sorry to all the Noel haters but Liam's success and millions in the bank are all thanks to his brother's genius lyrics. Liam has to shoehorn Noel's name into every interview and Tweet so it gets publicity. I've heard plenty of Noel's interviews where he never mentions Liam, because he doesn't need to. Liam tried everything to get Noel to perform at the Arianna Grande gig in support of the bombing victims. Why should he? Who's Liam to start demanding who should be performing there? Why didn't he call out New Order/Morrissey/Marr/the Stone Roses? Because they'd just laugh at him. And, anyway, Liam wouldn't have performed there if he wasn't trying to jump-start his solo career. The guy's a joke, and if Manchester is so important to him how come he moved away from here? Nothing funnier than hearing him trying to disguise that Primrose Hill accent. Jog on and grow up.
