@@sparkeydmh Pro-abortion with no restrictions. In other words, allow women to be completely irresponsible and then take it out on the poor 20 week old baby in their womb. It is sick really.
My favorite part of being a U2 fan is every video from every album has someone in the comments saying "this album is the best rock album produced, period!" and they're all correct 😀
"Early morning, April four, A shot rings out in the Memphis sky, Free at last. They took your life, They could not take your pride." This song's almost 40 years old and I hear it random times throughout each one mostly on the radio but those lyrics still get me every single time. And likely always will.
My child was born on that day and I can only hope that he will embody everything that Martin Luther King Jr and those that advocated for a world based on equality did. ❤
He plays with his pick backwards, also his pick has dimples on it for grip. but since he plays backwards the dimples grab onto the strings and make that unique and beautiful sound.
"Pride (In The Name Of Love)" One man come in the name of love One man come and go One man come, he to justify One man to overthrow In the name of love What more in the name of love In the name of love What more in the name of love One man caught on a barbed wire fence One man he resist One man washed on an empty beach. One man betrayed with a kiss In the name of love What more in the name of love In the name of love What more in the name of love (nobody like you...) Early morning, April 4 Shot rings out in the Memphis sky Free at last, they took your life They could not take your pride In the name of love What more in the name of love In the name of love What more in the name of love In the name of love What more in the name of love...

you and i know what youre talking about i will quote you! " this song is amazing through headphones in a dark bedroom with closed eyes, nothing but you and the music" yeah!
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how well the guitar effects are used in this song? So often they tend to be way overused, and also used in the complete wrong places. The Edge gets it 100% right here, and it works with the overall timbre of the song. Absolutely world class guitar knowledge
U2 could have made any song, sang any lyrics and had a hit. They really sat here and gave us a classic honoring the late Martin Luther King. Salute to you guys 🫡
No one except me, playing it at church in key of D on a tenor guitar (Irish tuning, naturally). And yes, it'll sound completely different from U2. I feel I must attempt it because it's 'Pride Sunday' ... pray for me 😉
I am a fan of U2 since 1984! Their songs have a profound meaning and stll represent a guide for me... I am 52 years old now and I have been following U2 since I was 14 years old !
I'm a little older but same here. I remember really buzzing that they were going to belive on the Old Grey Whistle Test. I had a proper teenage epiphany that night! A band timed just right and they felt like my band.
I'm 57 years old now. I met Bono twice during the Unforgettable Fire tour in Hollywood, Florida. I'm a huge fan of The Who and so is Bono so we had a lot to talk about. Bono mentioned to me it is Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders doing the vocals at the end of Pride In The Name of Love where she sings the "oh oh oh oh....oh oh oh oh" part.
You people need to learn English. In order for something to be underrated it has to be unpopular. This song is one of the most popular songs ever, top 500 by Rolling Stone, in fact it was U2's first Top 40 in the US. It's had covers and has been used in movies and television shows. Hard for it to have been more popular.
My parents broke up when I was 9 years old and I cried myself to sleep every night. The only thing that could calm me was this song. It was the song I’d listen to every time I was sad and I still do now.
This is song is just pure power, both in it's meaning and it's delivery. The vocal performance from Bono is incredible, the guitar from The Edge, just fucking amazing
+RoisinT2 Checkout Joan Osborne & The Funk Bros. performing "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted " ..... there's still a little magic & majesty in this world of rotting souls if ......
When I was 3-4 years old, my dad would pick me up from preschool and play this song as he drove me home. As blurry, and faded as the memory is, this is the very first song I remember ever listening to. It’ll forever be part of my early childhood.
This Wonderful U2 song Pride In the name of Love is such a Wonderful Amazing Brilliant song with Powerful lyrics this Wonderful song is a masterpiece of music 🎶 from a 61 years young Irishman fan from Dublin 😊
@@thegteam4349 Right?! Wham! even stopped by one night. The store was in LA and they were on their way to the airport. Fatburger was two doors down (I gained SO much weight at that job lol). It was late and we were closed, but we still got them to come in and sign a bunch of stuff. We had a Ticketmaster in the store, so I can't even tell you how many concerts I went to that I wouldn't have otherwise (Prince's Purple Rain 6 times, the last of which my friend and I actually got on stage). It really was the best first job that anybody could ever hope to have. Our manager was cool as hell, and more than half of us were fresh out of high school. In the summer after the store closed at 11 on Friday and Saturday nights, we'd take a Duralog out to the beach to just chill. Our customers even noticed how much fun we were having. In seems completely ridiculous to me now, but they'd tell us that they lived closer to another store in our chain, but they'd come to ours because the staff was so helpful. We'd have people singing to us when they didn't know the name of a song or who it was by, and the crew was diverse enough that somebody could figure it out (no matter how bad the singing was 🤣). The store also had a video side (in the days that renting videos meant standing in long lines), so even those of us on the audio side would help our favorite customers by jumping them in front of the line or just zeroing out their charges so they could just return the videos without waiting in line. Very special job 😊
@@LiNK52500 SO many more lol. It was the "right time, right place" on steroids. We even ACCIDENTALLY scalped Springsteen tickets in the first 10 rows at the Coliseum 😆.
This song should not be categorised in one genre of 80’s music as it is timeless and U2 are more than an eighties band it would like saying The Beatles are a sixties band,80’s bands are like Heaven 17, Human League,Blancmange,OMD, bands that never had much success outside the 1980s
Early morn, April 4, shots ring out in the Memphis sky, Free at last, they took your life, they could not take your pride! This song still send chills down my spine, and brings tears to my eyes. Such a beautiful tribute to a man who knew what fate held for him.

The words of this song and raw emotion Bono sings with bring on my tears every listen. Music sounds ethereal, beautiful, powerful. Thoughtful tribute to such a great man! RIH dear Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. ❤️
Starry&Bohemian lol i never saw UFO, I was 13 and he already left and formed MSG. I did see U2 in Long Beach, they had there first hit I Will Follow, I'll never forget that show, it was not sold out, they were not huge yet. I love U2, especially the early years. And I love Michael Schenker forever!
Non so voi ma quando il ragazzo cammina con le mani in tasca e passa davanti quella bambina mi fa accapponare la pelle e mi scendono le lacrime e questo succedeva quarants anni fa e succede anche ora ,che capolavoro di canzone e di video
This was the soundtrack of the movie “ In The Name of the Father” with a very great acting of Daniel Day Lewis” 👍👍 U2 is to me 1 of the best music band ever !!!! Bono you’re truelly a gift with your voice!!! 👍👍
I was a young teen in 1984. I still remember seeing this video and listening to this song for the first time. It made a huge impression on me and made me a U2 fan for life. Thank you boys!!!
My girlfriend and I were driving around memphis in January of 2020, and we drove by what was the Lorianne Motel and this song came on her satellite radio. She'd never actually listened to it before, but we were both on tears

My music teacher showed us this in class and omg i love it. Its sounds amazing and the part "April four a shot rings out in the memphis sky. Free at last, they took your life. They could not take your pride." Love that he included something about Martin Luther King Jr!
Ok class when I get mad I will give something that you never had. Young people throughout the world were taught be people who call themselves educated to fear Jesus Christ and the 5 percent. That's knowledge born November 2 1970. Some who call themselves Christians have fear of high rolling shit I have fears too. But right is right and wrong is wrong stealing money for a cause no matter what it is still wrong class evil is a verb it is action and whatever you do in life wherever you may find yourself good will always overcome the bad. Yo. Church is on Sunday but what about the rest of the week. You stand on the corner and sell drugs. At the end of the day when the sun goes down what you going to do with the surplus throw it away. Hell no you going to smoke the shit and have the latin plug who also would rather switch than fight fairly in Armageddon. Don't mimic talk and write in Hebrew like josh Jacob says be a woman and or man and be real with yourself because in the end you have no one but yourself to blame for your own ass kicking you will and have already received.
U2 has been singing about what's going on in the world for forty years now and people still don't want to do anything to stop this madness. The world is burning and I, for one, am ready for it to freaking stop. This insanity has to stop and it has to stop today. Let's get rid of hate and bring back love.
I was just about a month shy of my 20th birthday when this song was released . Man there was some amazing tunes back then . It was a great time to be young.
