I'm a U2 fan since the early 1980s and I love that guitar sound. Many, many years later I watched The Edge explain his set-up and he played dry without any effects. I was dumbstruck. That guy is a genius and you hit every note to a T.
The most intersting part of this song os when we look only the guitar! Ok...this is a beautiful song but the creative process of composition guitar by The Edge is fantastic!!! Great job Robert! 🎸🎸🎸
Interesting little device you got there. Nice sound though man, this song has to be done justice! It's not just a classic, it's a timeless piece and you did it right. Thank you!
One the BEST songs ever written. Your sound and performance are FLAWLESS. Thank you. I own my own publishing company. If you ever want a job for studio work or in a band, let me know.
Robert I keep coming back to your cover In my mind you are the Number one cover of WOWOY I close my eyes and I think the Edge is playing OMG Alan From ITALY
Gracias Juan! For the delay I used the Timeline with the dual setting to get as close as possible to The Edge original sound, a low overdrive before it and a hall reverb for the ebow parts.
It's called an Ebow. Don't ask me how it works because I haven't got a clue all I know is it can makes some epic sounds in the right hands. The Edge's hands for example.
Best guitar tone for this song ! I read in the comments the 3 pedals you used. But you dont say if you miked an amp or if you used an amp emulator in a daw....
Very good. May I ask what effects you're using here? After 16 years playing I've never seen that sustainer device. I was like what the heck is that thing😄never seen it in all my years.
Well, as you can imagine there was a Timeline with the dual setting to get as close as possible to The Edge original sound, a low overdrive before it and a hall reverb for the ebow parts.
I keep watching this cover it is that good Can you tell me what Overdrive pedal you where using & was you tuned in EB & what BPM you where set at.Thanks Robert
Thank you Alan. I used a Timmy overdrive pedal but just with a tiny bit of gain to emulate amp natural breaking. Guitar was tuned standard but I know U2 play it live Eb. Sorry I don't remember the bpm.
