I've been commenting this for quite a few episodes now. A lot of his war woes would be taken care of by simply forcing territory gains with naval invasions.
Kinda wierd that the army is invading Italy when they could attack western France from two directions. You might need to do a naval invasion to take that
Chris, are you using the beta ? If no then a warning they are changing stuff in that beta and it's awkward to play at the moment- 3 main issues are recruitment of sailors is harder, diplomacy does not tell you the cost in advance of the action and the economics have gone wierd plus economics warfare is a real thing where you need cruisers in their dual roles as commerce protection and raiding.
