Moreover, as a former skilled trades contractor who spent time in various GM plants throughout Michigan, I seen it long before most did. GENERAL MOTORS builds some of biggest steaming piles of 💩on the road.

Unions are 10% of the workforce nation wide and that’s mostly state governments employees. I work as a non union carpenter and I can tell you I wouldn’t work for a union.

@LoveableLincoln32 supply and demand are the overall forces driving the economy on a macro level. On an individual level, we see that union members tend to get paid better and have better benefits. Some unions aren't great and can actually hurt their members, but this isn't the norm. We also have to give unions credit historically for fighting for things like paid overtime that now all workers benefit from.

Only entitled people think they can get others to do their work for them , and they should cost your business for you , with bad laving conditions and bad health. I would never expect people to do a job where they use their time and then had to live in a smaller , less well maintained home, worry about healthcare and keeping the family feed. It’s as if nothing happened and the public will simply accept being fleeced by these political operatives. Here are the facts: 1. There are dozens of legal establishments in the NY region 2. Hundreds of judges 3. It could take one judge in one legal establishment to make a verdict in a week 4. Excessive delays have seen courts drag their feet for half a decade now 5. There is a clear reputation for bias, one of them ran on the slogan ‘let’s go get DJT’. You have to ask yourself is there anything to gain? What will the opposition do, to get it? Do they care about an innocent outsider to the establishment? Are there attempts to cover their tracks now that their plans are out in the open??

And even the old one with the infrastructure build creating jobs ALL OVER the USA. This is about a single small instance of jobs vs a general politics stance that helps ALL workers for decades. Biden admin also broke a strike for the railroads, which i wasnt happy about but understood , because it was to avoid halting our recovery from the pandemic. But overall we finally have some say, instead of being completely at the mercy of companies that thinks workers is some kind of lose appendix they can threat like however the please. A power balance that has been so extreme that wages has been stagnant for many decades. And workers had to work in more and more dangerous environments. You shouldnt be able to be fired for taking up work risks or hazards. Because its thew workers that knows what works and what doesnt when executing the job. And then you can feel pressured to do things that are dangerous, and then if it goes wrong you and your family is then hurt for the rest of their future. And it has become more and more skewed, so it is beginning to almost resemble an oligarchy . Where people are close to serf. And they have then made it seem like you have a way out because you can just resign and leave the job. That makes for an environment where all job are much harder to advocate for good business ethics and good jobs that doesnt wear you down. In the US the pressure has been closer and closer to a race to the bottom for decades now.

I had been threatened by my union rep he was going to file aggrievance on me because I would fix my machine, and they would tell me it was not my responsibility or in my job description to fix a machine. I had to wait for maintenance. (3 hrs later) I had to push a broom ! UGH !

I’m seeing it with my girls union right now. She says a lot of the close to retirement employees are seriously underperforming which is creating undue work on those below them. Ontop of never getting optimal time off from her job because of seniority. I don’t get the attractiveness to the union model.
