How come Shawn Fain doesn't work for $500 a week?
Shouldn't all UAW officers work for $500 a week while the strike is on?
Why is the union strategy to damage the car companies?

That means the Cost of a new Cadillac has increased eight hundred time. The average UAW Union members earn $24.00 hourly, while Tesla average hourly wage is $45.00. The new here is The Big Three have deliberately held the UAW Union members who are American workers wages down. The UAW Union members demands and deserve to be fairly compensated for the work they preform. No American workers should have to rely upon government handouts; such as Section 8 Rent Subsides, Food Stamps EBT, government Subsides health insurance. I'm a former UAW member. for many years I used to lecture people about not buying American cars. The greed of the UAW has gotten to the point where I will no longer support the big three or a supplier. How can anyone possible justify the pay and benefits they are demanding when all you need s a high school education or a GED? Don't think that this doesn't have a trickle-down effect on the entire economy. When these people can't make the payments on that expensive house they bought because they were replaced with a robot doing their job for 1/10 the cost, they'll be sorry they got so greedy. I'm tired of paying $60,000 for a car with $1,000 a month payments, from now on I will only buy used cars or Asian cars.

@user-jw5jm6fw2f
@user-jw5jm6fw2f 8 месяцев назад
@Pro 1 er. First off UAW wages only represent about 10 % of the cost of a new car. Second im not sure why the education level bothers you. If you have ever been in a assembly plant for very long you would understand why they have to pay those workers that much. Those jobs are mind numbing and the pay is the only why the auto companies can keep a steady work force. Now before you say there are thousands of people that would do that job for less your wrong! Out of thousands of people that start working those jobs vary few stay around. The cost of constant employee turn over and lack of productivity would devastate the industry much faster than the wages. Now I agree not all of the demand are logical but from a negotiation stand point you have to start high and settle somewhere in the middle. As an engineer for one of these companies for the last 26 years I can tell you there are no CEO's that are worth 30 million dollars a year. Just as you think UAW wages are out of line so are the upper managements. So you blaming the UAW wages as your justification to buy a foreign car doesn't really hold alot of water. Just admit you wanted that vehicle. Its your money you can spend it as you wish.

The 500 a week amount for strike pay was voted by the membership. Not decided by Shawn Fain.

I don't much care for hypocrites but the simple fact is that the automakers screwed over the workers since before the financial crisis. It would have been easy enough to have stave this off by giving some decent bonuses as their balance sheets improved. But Fain had damn well better keep the members wellbeing in mind.

For a clerk, he sure is kicking the shit out of all of those $30,000,000 a year do-nothings. How much should they be making for losing market share very year, bright boy? The clerk is tearing them to pieces. Pretty tough clerk, don't you think? That clerk just made them stop paying new hires like they work at fucking McDonalds.@@JRS0404

😢😢 I feel sorry for Mary Barra. How could she survive on $30 million a year, part zero taxes, fly private jets, stay at 5 star luxury hotels, eat at the best restaurants... and retire with a diamond parachute worth hundreds of millions. She gets compensation even when they lose money and big bonuses when she layoffs and cut benefits. HOW CAN SHE SURVIVE ON WELFARE MONEY. BAD LEADERSHIP DECISIONS LEAD TO BIG BONUSES. THE SUFFERING OF HER AND THE EXECUTIVE TEAM. JOHN, YOU MUST BE on GM PAYROLL! ENJOY THE nice yatcht with Mary.

I would follow the person that makes millions and writes paychecks, not the leftist usurper that scalps paychecks. The UAW never built an auto plant and hired thousands. The Teamsters never started a trucking company and hired any one .@@seymorefact4333

So what? I don't want another UAW car. Ever! We bought our first Tesla, a Model X, in 2017. Loved it! When the Model 3 came out, we traded our last gas car for it. LOVED IT. In 2021, we traded our 2017 Model X in for a Model Y Performance. Love it! I never want a UAW made car again. I couldn't go back to having to fill up at a gas station. I won't go back to a slow car. I don't miss paying for oil changes. 3 Teslas in the past 6 years, and if our Model Y was totaled tonight, we'd be ordering a new one. Screw the UAW strike. I don't need their crappy cars.

Also you did not mention as this strike is tiered most members are not living off 500 a week so the majority will continue to support striking. It is a very good tactic. I think auto companies need to take off gloves and either strike bust hire or publicly state they will build more in Mexico.
