Thank you. Our family went through a lot when Saturn shut down. He transfered to Fort Wayne for years on his own. Paying rent while also paying a mortage here at home so we didn't have to pick up and move our lives as well. Years later being able to transfer to Bowling Green where he could move back home but had to carpool with 4 other people due to the 2 and a half hour drive and the cost of gas. Some days this was as much as 3 and a half hours. I would get off the bus and many times that he drove he would be asleep in the driveway from the exhaustion. He deserves this. All of them deserve this. I am sure there are a lot of people who have missed out on some things that worked just as hard and I feel for them but I am thankful that this time things worked out for my Father.
Worked at Saturn in Spring Hill. Had to put up with racist affirmative action and my three quality degrees didn’t get me anywhere! I was even told they had to hire a black guy, “ Oh, you understand don’t you!” No, I do not! Skilled trade process at Pontiac Motors and Saturn allowed non-whites to go to the community college and take classes and earn up to 20 extra points added to the slicked trade test. GM racist against white people! I called an attorney and they all wanted $100k just to take the case to sue GM for racism. They all said GM has unlimited money, so I could not financially afford to sue them.
Great! Now get Lordstown the MSR. So many people poured their lives out for GM, some with over 20 years had to make a very hard decision without all the information. We should get the same as the L34s! Please there is only a few of us left.
What about all the rest who have worked for decades who have already retired do you not think we worked just as hard but we get penalized for retiring in other contract years, being born in earlier years or hired in much earlier? Also the GM employee discount program is absolutely a joke, price for the GM products have skyrocketed. WTH.
I remember the norm was 18% off sticker and 24% off options, plus any rebate. It’s a joke now. I walked in 2019 to buy a Acadia and got a better price taking the price dealer offered than GM employee price. I was not allowed to get an employee discount on top of their offer. One or the other. I ordered a 2018 Colorado and discount was only $1400. I found out my neighbor got one a month later and he got $1800 buying one-off the lot!
While I appreciate what you're doing for my GM brothers and sisters I would like to know what is being done for the Stellantis skilled trade IPRs. I first signed up last May 2023 which was ignored and signed up a second time on 1/2/24 which has so far been ignored. I have been told that they have no replacements for skilled trades. I'm also told that we have to many trades! You can't say you can't let me go then say you have too many! You can't tell me you have no replacements if you have HR placing a hiring freeze!
It wasn’t $50k when I retired in 2008. It was $25k and said it’s a one time deal ever and never offering SAP ever again! Well, what do you call a person not telling the truth 🤔
@@NT-lz5ez Why should our pension get cut in half when we turn 62? All the people in other companies get full pension and social security at age 62. My 2 neighbors worked at really small companies and earn $3,000 a month, plus SS. Hell, my uncle worked for the road commission in a small county driving a salt truck in winter and pothole repair in summer and earns $3600 on his pension and $2400 social security. While Mary Barra earned over $300 million and stocks since she took over and running GM in the ground pushing EV, no one wants because she kisses Bidens a$$!
