at approx 49:00 they are discussing how to figure the percentage of gammons and the tricks they use to calculate and they both explain their math and when i count it they both are counting 4 extra pips somewhere that im not seeing or theyre leaving out of their math!? i hope someone sees this and can clarify cause its driving me mad
Nick was just trying to count the outfield pips out loud. He said 49, which I think was the start of his count before adding the midpoint. I wouldn't read too much in to this: they're trying to come up with a quick estimate, not knowing how long they'll have before the position changes. It shouldn't be surprising that sometimes commentators are 4 pips off. Anyway, the 80-90% estimate of gammons was in the ballpark. The actual percent G was closer to 70.
