My acceptance rate is 1% right now. I won't take stupid rides for a quarter of what the passengers pay. I was doing Uber as a side work but this year I found out it is not worthed at all. I'm doing it occasionally at the airport only when it is snowing. Thanks for your video. Salute from Salt Lake.

My acceptance rate here in Kansas City, is no higher than yours. You are absolutely correct, if the trips were of acceptable quality, the acceptance rate would automatically go up. I do not sit and wait for quality trips Because I want to. I wait because I have to.. Keep up the good work

I'm in Miami and it's the same bull sh!t here. I already have a nag screen that comes up when I open my Uber app saying my acceptance rate is trending down. Lol! That's because I'm not accepting anymore $3 and below bs rides. If it's not close to $1 a mile I'm letting it pass, I'm done with that scam. I used to love long rides until they lowered the trip fares, now the longer you go the less you make.
7% acceptance club here. I've done most gig work from food and package delivery to rideshare. I have only bad things to say about these companies. They're all predators trying to fool us into working for pennies or less. There are so many drivers who don't even know how to figure out their expenses. I was one of them. Thank goodness I saw the light. As of right now in Miami Florida, UberX will cost you money to drive.
I canceled a ride after accepting it. Was a nice cherry pick. Movie theater pick up, five minutes away, an it was over ten bucks. I pull up. An this chick has this bucket of popcorn bigger then a human head. And a cup with liquid in it, that was probably no less then 64 ounces. So I ask, "are you such an such?". "Ya..." Straight up "YOUR NOT GETTING IN HERE WITH THAT". I wasn't even nice about it. I mean its not worth it. The drink alone could have alcohol in it. Last thing I am letting happen is my car get turned into a movie theater seat.
These companies are all messed up and just want to threat the drivers. I got rid of rideshare weeks ago after doing it for a hot minute and seeing it was garbage. I now use Uber and Lyft to discuss with my students as circumspect companies, to say the least. Come on they totally stink. I said it.

Uncle Sam says it cost us 0.655/mile to operate our vehicles (gas, maint., depreciation). Rides have to pay MORE than that for us to make any money at all.
I am in Atlanta. My issue with Uber is that they are making driving painful and dangerous for drivers while at the same time reducing pay. It’s not just money. The driving conditions have deteriorated because of Uber’s greedy ways, trying to squeeze out the maximum amount of money from every driver. In the past you would drive less than 300 miles to make $300 and do it in less than 12 hours. Since Upfront Fare you have to drive 450 miles or more for 12 hours or more to make less than you made 5 years ago.
Man I was just in Atlanta area doing rideshare for both. I started at 2am and stopped at 8am. Honestly that's the best time and no traffic. They were tying to give me a $15 trip for an hr or more drive in traffic. Ain't no damn way I'm doing that. Rather just stay in a radius to be honest
Driving between 2am and 8am might be awesome without traffic. However, stay armed my friend. This is a VERY dangerous time to drive in a major market like Atlanta. Covered the story of a woman shot dozens of times riding in an Uber in that city.

To fix the problem would be if ride share give a price. If ride does not get pickup then ride share can send rider an updated price to get a ride. The customer can choose to increase the fares. Then pass it on to the driver.
I haven’t driven in over a week. Weather sucks but no surges. Been enjoying not blowing money on food and gas in my new car. Maybe next week I’ll do something. Idk
There is one main reason. They dont want to pay the driver cuz Dara will be getting a 50 million dollar bonus if he can keep the stock up to 60.00 a stock for 6 months. Its 62 a stock now. Thats why that wont pay the driver more!!
The app still does this, but I remember when I would continuously get those drive 15 minutes to pick someone up, and I'd decline it, and there's a trip waiting around the corner. The app from Day 1(since I started) has been messing with drivers. just like you mentioned the surges and it sends you across town to pick someone up. Then they have the audacity to make us feel bd for a problem their algo is causing.

I’ve been driving a month and I don’t trust UBER and LYFT. We’re turning our apps off on Valentine’s Day this year. I think all drivers should get involved and make as much money as you can to take the day off on Valentine’s Day. I wish we’d done this for NYE and Christmas.

If you're in any of the medium to big urban markets, look around hard at all the other drivers. You'll find that a huge contributor to the driver over saturation problem is coming from people driving on fraudulent accounts. Many driving unregistered/uninsured vehicles. It's way worse on the delivery side than rideshare, but it's a problem everywhere. Who do you think is snapping up all the $2-$3 trips? The gig-companies are looking the other way.

Dead on. The long trips out of town aren't worth it. The pay offers on the long trips is barely on the edge of "worth it" for one way only. And just barely at that. But are a hard no if you factor in the $0 pay for the deadhead time & miles back.

Yeah these pay rates are just insane. I also cannot see the riders destination in my market at all, regardless of acceptance rates. And yes good delivery is mainly for immigrants now, the pay rates for food is crazy.
Already in line with this. I went 1 week, from a platinum 5 drives from diamond, back to pro. TX Feb 5th all apps off solidarity for Austin drivers taking it to the Capitol. All major ciries follow suit

Same thing here in the Detroit area,if a pickup isn't within 5 miles I don't F with it, and as far as assistance rates mines is low also, and I run a route for myself within the area that I live in, for pickup and drop offs, and if the passenger go into Detroit where they live, and once I drop them off, I'll look for a ride that's take me back in my area,or if the next ride isn't far from where I dropped off the prior passenger, I'll go get them if it's worth my time, I'm just vieing my time to see if the next ride is going back into my route area, and if it takes to long to get one going back My way,then I'll just Deadhead back, which won't be far from the suburban area that I live in. And I been stoped accepting long trips not worth my time.
I love when I do take somebody to the airport, then I get the message that says go to waiting lot and interquay or whatever. And I always say no. I'm not going there. And then I circle our airport, cuz it's the Salt Lake City airport, it's easy to circle, and within one or two circles I get a fair. And sometimes they're pretty good. I can even cherry pick a little bit if I want to. Go to waiting lot LOL. I've been to the waiting lot, people are sitting out on their chairs, on their hoods for hours waiting for trips. All you got to do is circle the airport. You'll get a ride. I think it's hilarious. And yes, I've gotten this message once my acceptance rate. Dipped into the 60% range. They're trying to shame us into thinking that we're making other drivers lives harder. As if there are drivers out there that are resentfully taking up the slack LOL
Well done! All very true. Sometimes I think that Uber feels as if we only drive around to collect money FOR they alone. They appear utterly deaf to the needs of drivers while throwing demands that are of NO benefit to drivers! I'm finding it very difficult to continue driving for them!
Yesterday, I was driving Lyft and had two instances where I was sitting less than a half block from the passengers. With one, I was literally stopped next to the passenger. Did Lyft ping me with any of them? Nope, they put them up on trip radar. They would rather send someone from across town and make the passengers wait in the rain, than just ping the closest driver. They don't give AF about us or their passengers.
Yes they control that I found that out years ago.. I pulled up to a customer that accidentally canceled the ride just as I pulled up to him.. And he try to request the ride again sitting halfway in my backseat and they sent him another driver
I just looked at my Uber Acceptance Rate, it's 2%, I accepted 4 and declined 196 out of my last 200. Cherry picking is not working anymore since pretty much everything is such a low offer.

I live in DC area and during our last week snow, uber was charging riders 300 bucks for 100 miles ride while paying drivers just over 100 bucks. I said f u uber.
My market is decent, and I've been down to 40 percent acceptance, now at 60 percent. Generally, if the ride isn't paying at least a dollar a mile... then I don't take it. I have an electric vehicle, so their rewards don't do me much good anyway.
The rideshare platform policies towards drivers are not different from those of slave owners towards their slaves in the colonial era of slavery. The only difference is that they are not using chains and whip but have turned the the absence of regulations and a framework of protections for rideshare drivers into whip and chains

I get ride requests paying 47 cents or 53 cents per mile constantly! Then after rejecting these shit rides, Uber sends a message they are taking me offline due to rejecting too many rides!? Why the hell would I accept this horrible pay and subject myself and my vehicle to $5 per hour wages, this is not even half of minimum wage in my state. And the surge zones are a joke, were like cats chasing a laser we can never catch, I've been IN surge zones gotten rides and received zero surge pay while the customer was charged a surge fee, I have been OUT of surge zones and gotten surge pay, what the f*ck is going on here!?

when uber suggests that it causes farther trips for drivers, it's because they'll reach out further to find a driver and that driver could be 10-15 miles away. here in south texas, we have 3 airports and the one i live closest to is where drivers make the most money and when sitting in the queue (this airport is the only one of the three down here tjat has a queue) i may get a ride request to pick up someone 9 miles away just to take them 2 miles to their destination all the while, uber doesn't pay for that 9 mile drive to get the passenger.
Took 40 hours of driving to make 800 bucks but spent 150 on gas, applied to some w2 jobs last night got an interview tomorrow. Ubers a good side hustle but that’s it unless you wanna drive 6 days a week, 14 hours a day forever. Conspiracy theory, the app loves to send me ride after ride picking up folks in the most dangerous hood in the city way across town. I think they send black drivers into those areas on purpose. Uber means to tell me the only trips in a metro area of 1.2 million are mostly in the hood, come on now Uber.
For sure you’d do well with Uber as a side hustle. If you only do Uber it kills your motivation and makes you lazy. Been doing it since 2016. I am mAking less money and I am discouraged now since doing it full time. I am now looking for something more stable.

Got a ride from a drunk rider going almost 200 miles to a alcohol treatment center...headache the WHOLE trip and even though insurance paid for her trip, no tip...why was I not surprised.
Had a rider today said she paid 23 for me to pick her up I told her Lyft was paying me 8 for the ride she was shocked. 5.30 tip next rider was happy to pay me 15 to get a 4 dollar discount. Keep your heads warriors this battle will be long. FEB 14

100% agree with you, I've been delivering food for uberEats for 5 years and recently a lot recently all I've been getting are orders for $2 $7 $8 or below. I must have decline like 20 or 30 orders in a day just to get a 10, 11, 12, 15.00 order worth my time. The other day I got an order for $10 It was an hour drive to another township, and on top of that they kept on giving me orders for a township that I don't deliver to anymore and that township is also the township that I live in so I know driving in there at night ain't the right idea so Uber continues to blowing my shit up just just to get me a delivery in that area and recently a year ago I gave I Uber passenger a chance and I stopped because of that exact same reason. The pay just don't make sense. What happened? Oh greed yes yes 😅🤔
I got some record sht 'opportunities' last night. It was Wednesday, but I am talking about $3 for 10+ miles atleast 6 times. Anytime my acceptance goes above 80%, within a day it will be in the 60% (+/-). The company is sht. They aren't transparent and they get sneakier.
As long as there are 10 Drivers to sign up for every 1 that quits, Uber and Lyft will do whatever they want! Everybody including their grandmother is driving for Uber and Lyft so don't waste your breath.
