I literally just bought a bunch of them off Amazon. I don't see why these mounts have so many sizes. Why isn't there a standard here? I measured the width of the front and the mount on the fork is 74mm and the Shimano I have is also 74mm, the one currently mounted to it is 80mm+. I assume I can't just mount it directly to it, so I bought a few pieces that seemed like the correct one. The rear says 51mm on the bike and my Shimano is also 74mm again, the one on the bike is also 80mm+. I bought a few adapters for that to. I don't know if width makes a difference or if the front disc brakes need to be shifted differently. This is way more intense then it needs to be...
I also would probably educate what a post mount is, what an international mount is. Then go into what the standard sizes are for them, and how I can figure it out myself. Then get into how I can figure out my current disc brake size. Then put it all together. I needed a 180mm disc brake post mount which is 74mm front and 51mm rear adapters to my 74mm bracket. Then go through what nuances there are as I'm looking through all the weirdly oddly shaped ones I'm finding on Amazon that make choosing one difficult.
I didn't have a problem with the volume as much as the speed talking lol!! I kinda of understand now but with your accent and the speed of your talking it made it hard to keep up, in the future if you make another informational video would you slow it down a touch please 😊. Thanks for video.
The post is where you are mounting the caliper to the bike The caliper is the braking mechanism… it holds the pads The rotor is the disc you attach to the wheel Hope that helps you out some He is explaining it kinda quick… most of the numbers he is explaining is the measurements of the rotor and distance of the adapters to mount… and the screw size
I don't know why you're giving a bolt length option without cup n cone washers cos any set up thats using that type of unthreaded adapter requires them under the bolt head otherwise the heads would not sit flush to the caliper.
I have a rockshox pike 140 with stock 180 disks. They already have an adapter to run the 180 disks, so it is post 6? Is the one big spacer enough to fit a 220 rotor?
I have a fox 32 f series 100mm forks and 160mm rotor but I want to go up to 180mm just wondering what adapter I need, would be great if you could let me know cheers gaz
Hi Gav, this would be the mount you would need to go to 180mm. The bolts you need can also be found on the product listing also - www.uberbikecomponents.com/view-product/Uberbike-Post-to-Post-PM6-160mm-Direct-Mount-to-180mm-Disc-Brake-Adapter-Colour-Options Let me know if there's anything else we can help you with.
If you're running a 180 rotor and your caliper is directly mounted to your fork then your forks post mount is 180 therefore you need PM7 180 to 220mm, if there's already an adapter in place your forks post mount is 160mm so needs PM6.
