I have the same gun but made by pietta. Love the thing for its nostalgia. Mom bought it for me to remember her when she passed. She passed a year ago. Love you mom.

A big advantage of 357 mag is that you can also shoot 38 special, which is a very nice little round for target practice.

Wow. I wish I could just go out in the backyard and shoot mine. I just got my .357 cattleman II brass Uberti. I'm waiting fir my ammo so I can go to the gun range and shoot. Nice video.

I recently purchased the Cattleman in .357 and love it. I was told that Uberti only recommends flat nose lead cartridges. I did try FMJ at first and did not have a problem with either one. It is a very accurate pistol with .357 or .38 special. The only problem I have is the rod that you pull out to remove the cylinder is very hard to remove I took it back and the said it had a nick in it but it is still hard to get out. You have to be careful not to dry fire it when the removal rod is all the way in as a safety. Dry firing will nick the rod and make it almost impossible to get out.

Terry Dean does that include 357 magnum 180 grain hsm hardcast bearloads or corbon 200 grain semi jacketed flatnose hardcast

Well one thing about it is you can shoot all sorts of 357 Magnum revolvers cartridges out of that and that is an excellent deer pistol for going out deer hunting with and you can do about anything you want to do with a 357 but with a 45 caliber you can't go with very high loads with that but with a 357 you can shoot it just a little bit higher grain of lead out of that for perfect accuracy and perfect knockdown on a deer so you did make a really good choice and it's also a very good home defender so be proud of yourself

Kyle , this weapon is almost correct to 1887, when Colt started offering this frame in a .38 colt. Your .357 cylinder will hold 4 different calibers. ..357, 38+P, .38 special, .38 colt. I have this same revolver and am very happy with it.

I have one just like it. All nostalgia aside, 357 mag equal to 45 Colt in knockdown power, muck longer range, less expensive and more available ammo. So you ended up with a better gun than you were looking for. Congrats! A safety notch will always fail when you least expect it because the tooth is very thin. Unless you have a Ruger style transfer bar safety system (you don't) always keep an empty chamber under the hammer. Neither you or the guy next to you wants his head blown off. Sweet gun. Happy shooting!

don't forget you can use the less expensive 38 special in this too.

I'm also about to pick this one up with the same Finnish as this... In 357 but with the 5.5 barrel for $380 ish.

the thing with the matt black, if you holster that enough, it will look better with holster wear.

Rich Bell You think so? I was thinking about picking one up but I cant decide on caliber and finish

Fatrick Williams .45 colt or .357 are both great options .45 is probably better for cowboy action shoots but on the negative they are more expensive.

Is either not a Cattleman or has been refinished. I thought refinished but someone below said Uberti Hombre. My question was if it wasn't refinished why the funny shiny ring on the cylinder? At any rate, love these :) wodering if mine on the way has the same hammer block thing (has failed in some after being beat up a little) or if the stock is new enough it's a Cattleman II and has the new retractable firing pin for 2017. Unfortunately Cattleman II is not synonymous with every New Cattleman Model so I can't know until it arrives. Probably a Cattleman II with the new system (a good thing or not too early to tell) since it's "new".

Nice vid. Very attractive handgun. It's on my "want" list, and may get one as early as next year. I'll also opt for the .38/.357 over the .45C (box of 50 costs $10-$15 less.) The heavier grain .38 appears to be close to the velocities of the .45C on paper, but I'm wondering if that's actually your experience.
@kyleroberts4763
@kyleroberts4763 8 лет назад
velocity will be close but you won't have the punch that comes with the .45 LC

Instead of shooting the guy in the face you shot him I'm the neck.. I think that 357 would still be an accurate self defense weapon for you my friend 😀👍

Go buy a Brownells base puller tool. The 1875 Outlaw Uberti revolver is tougher & has less problems .

im buying one but am i just subjected to using cowboy loads or can i use just regular loads???
@kyleroberts4763
@kyleroberts4763 8 лет назад
The Duke you can use regular loads just not the super hot stuff like Buffalo bore or anything rated plus p
@cameronnorton5898
@cameronnorton5898 7 лет назад
Kyle Roberts This thing really won't handle hotter ammo? The Cylinder walls are super thick. Does it have to do with the mechanics?
@dakotadoak7665
@dakotadoak7665 4 года назад
I also would add don't use magtech ammo in it. I learned that the magtech ammo expands too much and runs pretty hot and I was having issues with the brass being "stuck" in the cylinder.

Great video! I noticed you're shooting jacketed rounds..... any problems with jacketed .38 Special or .357 with that gun? I don't care to use cast bullets because of the increased amount of lead but am wondering if factory .38S and .357 jacketed rounds are a problem? Thanks!
@kyleroberts4763
@kyleroberts4763 9 лет назад
+kalashnikov Nope i have not had any issues yet the one thing i will say is avoid any type of plus p or any type of really high velocity stuff like buffalo bore this hand gun is really made to spec and the originals were not designed to shoot high velocity but any standard .38 or .357 jacketed or not it will fire nicely.
@kalashnikov9367
@kalashnikov9367 9 лет назад
+Kyle Roberts Oh yeah! I know to stay away from +P/+P+/Buffalo type loads. I have an Outlaw 1875 (.38/.357) on order. Can't wait to get it! While I'm waiting, I might get a 1858 New Army in .38 since I can find those at a few local stores and online no problem. (I just fear my wife will shoot me if I buy yet another gun. :)

No do not put six shots in that you want to put five shots you want to do the cowboy load load one miss one and load the other the other cylinders because that hammer is so viable that if you bump it you can blow your leg off with a 357 Magnum so you definitely want to go with the cowboy load load one and then load the other four other cylinders and you can keep that empty chamber empty on that hammer don't be stupid dude that's a 357 Magnum it'll imputate your leg and whoever else is there behind you or whoever else is there be smart
