This is great information. Really surprised there is so little information about this on RU-vid. It’s like most people don’t really know what settings ACTUALLY do but they know definitions and what other people have told them. I love seeing exactly what happens in real world situations. Thank you.
im still trying to work out why wpa3 fast roaming is causing my android 10 phone to drop and not re connect, i hear a similar issue happens to iphones.
My android 13 device does not have roaming issues. When you said "wpa3 fast roaming", did you mean the option which literally says "wpa3 fast roaming" or just "fast roaming"?
Sorry to bother you again, but I have issues with some iPhones disconnecting and instantly reconnecting every couple minutes. Do you recommend any ways to narrow the issue? I bet that there is a setting which doesn't play well with iOS but testing it one by one will take a lot of time. It happens a lot more with 5 GHz band... I have separate SSID for 2.4 and 5 GHz with the same settings which use WPA3 Personal so that's kinda weird. Also when I click "forget network" and try to connect again I need to try several times because it doesn't connect - that might be related to the previous issue. I'm using 2x U6-IW with UDM SE.
@@hz777 Pretty much no 5 GHz networks in range because walls block it so probably not interference. I bet that I misconfigured something or iPhones don't like certain settings. Does your iPhone work fine with mDNS, IGMP and DHCP Snooping, Multicast Enchancement, Proxy ARP, BSS Transition, Fast Roaming and Group Rekey Interval enabled when using WPA3?
@@hz777 that probably narrows my issue to these two, thanks a lot! Do you recommend to increase time for Group Rekey Interval or just completely disable it? If that doesn't help I willl try to disable Proxy ARP
It seems to be related to connecting to new AP even before disconnecting with old AP. I need time to validate it using wire shark. But I have dozen’s of backlog videos to work on, so am not sure I can look into this setting. Stay tuned.
