Streamlined? I had to look up a guide just on how to turn off my auto brightness. Ubuntu goes against the grain and doesn't conform to any other OS's established way of thinking. Disable auto brightness in Android? Go to display. In Mac? Go to display. In Windows? Go to display. Ubuntu? Let's not streamline it and put it in power! Lol really?
I was impressed by the percieved speed of ubuntu 20.04. I installed it on a sata ssd on my laptop, where it has a main nvme ssd running windows. I thought I was crazy, but the whole thing just felt snappier and responsive than windows 10 on a 4x faster ssd. Good job, Canonical
You forgot the most important thing to do: sudo apt purge snapd. That is the worst part about Ubuntu. There is no good reason for Snaps. I recommend going flatpak instead if you really wanted to.
My usb and bluetooth tethering is not working, it only says "Activation of internet connection failed" I cant connect to a wired network because i dont have ethernet port in my laptop and i dont have usb to ethernet adapter, how can I make my usb tethering work?

In the past couple of years I've always tried the new LTS releases of Ubuntu, but for me it felt like laggy, unstable, and difficult to use, so definitely preferred Windows 10 over linux. Now Ubuntu 20.04 got so snappy, polished, and stable so far that for the last few weeks I rarely boot into Windows 10. Ubuntu is getting a stunningly nice os. I could replace 100% of my Windows applications, and use it without any trouble. Also use it already on my notebook. Will 20.04 be a breaktrough?
Hi , Thanks very much for the video. I was not able to install 20.04 as the installer didn't allow as my system was with Intel RST. So I installed 18.04 and upgraded to 20.04. After upgrading I installed the KDE desktop . And once at the login screen I chose the "Ubuntu on Wayland" option and logged in. After that the Wayland theme got stuck when I logged back in the default Ubuntu. After doing these 2 things, I lost the new features of 20.04 like the Ubuntu boot screen with Dell logo and the power off/ log out blur effect screen. Not sure how to get that back. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
You installed KDE on Ubuntu? That typically causes lots of problems. If you want to use Ubuntu + KDE I'd recommend seeing if Kubunt 20.04 installs correctly or installing Kubuntu 18.04 and upgrading from there. That should fix most of your problems.
@@primalpenguin Yes. But I don't see any technical issues yet other than the boot logo. I can choose between Plasma and Ubuntu in the login screen. When I chose the Wayland session only I lost the theme of the Ubuntu default session. I didn't install Wayland. It was already there. I lost the cool blur shut down screen of Ubuntu 20.04. Thanks for replying.
Ubuntu is unable to found wifi adapter. Do you have any fix? I have tried so many things but nothings working. Wireless Adapter Info - Brodcomm BCM43142
first of all you need to install tlp, in this case use the next comands: sudo apt install tlp then this is opcional (If you want to utilize the Radio Wizard also use) sudo apt-get install tlp-rdw finally sudo tlp start
Straight forward, thank you sir. I have a challenge though, after inserting the sudo command, I press 'Enter', after this my key boards just ceases to function (I cannot enter my password)... please help. (I'm using version 20.04)
That's strange. Unfortunately, I haven't experienced something like this and am not sure what a possible solution could be. I recommend trying to look it up online or on the Ubuntu forums.
I think it's linux's security you're being confused for. When entering password in terminal, it is being typed but doesn't actually show up on the screen. It's easy to guess a password if you know the length.
@@sameshbajracharya3391 You are so right, it worked, thank you. Lastly, I downloaded a trading app (IQ Options) but it won't open, I presume its not supported, is there a programme I can use to open unsorted apps?
@@sameshbajracharya3391 Just found this on the web "Currently IQ Option has an online web version that is Ubuntu compatible. They also previously offered a downloadable application for Linux and Ubuntu users, but shortly discontinued it, citing corporate issues. Nonetheless, the web version is still operational and provides all the same tools that the downloadable version had. It works with Chrome, Opera, Firefox and Safari Browser."
Just installed this version and decided to go with GNOME instead of KDE which has always been my to-go DE, it's find but there are a couple of things I'd appreciate some help on: - What's the GNOME dock for? I mean, other than showing the icons for applications currently running, I don't see a purpose for it. Instead you have both the dock and the top bar that shows the name of the application you currently have focus on. I manged to kind of get rid of it by using the auto-hide option, but still, knowing that is there with no purpose whatsoever makes me uncomfortable specially because if you leave it always showing you're losing that screen space. - What would be the equivalent fo KDE's krunner? with Krunner you can launch applications, do some simple math, search for files, etc. I haven't found something similar so far in GNOME. I can press the windows key in my keyboard and that opens the "applications" interface and search for applications but doesn't have any other functionalities. So far I'm pleased with how easy the touchpad and the HiDPI kind of worked out of the box but other than that I feel I may have to switch back to KDE, any suggestions/advice?
It seems you criticize Gnome while you hardly know how it works. The dock works as a convenient launcher for your every day programs quite similar to the MacOS dock. The Super (Windows) key doesn't open applications but Activities for easy access/switch between open windows/applications. If you want Gnome to behave like KDE you better stick to KDE.
The Ubuntu dock can be disabled with the extensions app. Just disable it and it will disappear. The activities overview o super button will let you do things like Krunner, you can make math calculations, search for apps or files, you can configure what it can do on the configuration settings, look it up

@Primal Penguin there are some snap packages preinstalled.i want to know complete removal of snapd and all other packages will create any issue.is it safe to do so...
Hi Primal Penguin! I have installed dual boot ubuntu 20.04 and windows 10 on my pc (intel 10th) but there's no wired connection available in Ubuntu 20.04. (I'm sure that i plug the ethernet cable because It still works when i run windows) I download the "2.5G Ethernet LINUX driver r8125 for kernel up to 5.6" and follow the install instruction in this link: askubuntu.com/questions/1258241/no-ethernet-connection-available-in-ubuntu-20-04. However, when i ran sudo ./autorun.sh. Terminal shows that: "Check old driver and unload it Build the module and install ./autorun.sh: 30: make: not found" Could you please help me out with this problem Thank you!
I wish I had the proper knowledge to help, but I will try my best to at least give some pointers. By the looks of it, the new driver won't build because the old one is interfering. I suggest looking up "how to unload ethernet driver" online to show you how to do that. And because building is involved, I suggest you make sure you have all the developer tools installed to properly build the driver. Do sudo apt update then do sudo apt install build-essential before you try building the driver. Also, have you tried looking up this issue with your specific motherboard?
@@primalpenguin Thanks for your kind reply - After I installed "sudo apt-get install build-essential linux-headers-generic". The terminal shows that: "Reading package lists... @@primalpenguin I'm using MSI B460M Mortar and i don't understand the line "Also, have you tried looking up this issue with your specific motherboard?". what do you mean about that?
@@hoaibaotruong4817 I meant looking online like "MSI B460M Mortar no ethernet ubuntu" for more resources. By the looks of it, you have a broken installation at this point since it seems to fail to even refresh the repositories. I suggest trying a different distro like Manjaro to see if it'll better support your hardware. I had the same issue with my desktop PC a while ago and had to connect to the 2nd ethernet port for it to work. Eventually it got fixed with newer kernel releases.

வேண்டுமானால் sound optimisation while on battery use ஐ அனைத்து கொள்ளுங்கள். எனெனில் அதனால் மிகப்பெரிய சேமிப்பு இல்லை. ஒலியின் தரம் குறைகிறது. மற்றபடி எதுவும் தேவையில்லை.
To say the best I would use windows alongside ubuntu Why? Well most apps like roblox or minecraft even steam (I think) be used on Linux and linux is good for starting out on programing and other tech stuff If you dont want to have it alongside windows you could use a separate computer or just use a VM like I do
I use Arch btw. I really don't like how they're pushing Snap packages over APT nowadays, and how they're changing over to the Snap Store by default for graphical package management. I think they should've stuck with the "hey, here's Snaps, but it's not required" thing. I've gone to Arch and I'm not looking back.
Don't talk BS about privacy. Ubuntu does NOT get any private information , but only anonymous information about the system hardware, installed software and your country.
