that was definitely a questionable call, however, there was also questionable contact at the other end on the KU in-bounds and, as well, a moving screen when honeycut got open for the tying '3'...KU wins either way... :)
@sansburni Little was in control the entire time. He had straight line towards the ball and the UCLA guy interfered with that line. The UCLA guy also ran towards the ball, thus getting into Little's line after Little had the ball. The UCLA guy's momentum carried him into Little, knocking Little off balance as he put up the shot, thus calling for the foul. It's not that hard to figure out. I'm sure you'll argue , along with every other KU hater, but the non-bias folks up in NCAA agree with KU.
@MrBob2892 “The refs reacted properly,’’ said John Adams, the head of the NCAA’s officiating on Friday. Adams added that Sirmons was an experienced official who worked an NCAA regional last season. “The only argument you can make is whether or not it was a foul. It’s a foul. The Kansas kid has control of the ball. It’s incredibly unfortunate to end the game like that. But I’ve looked at the tape this morning and Doug called the foul like he’s supposed to.’’
@Savannah7531 He clearly ran into him. Intentional or unintentional, that is still a foul and like the announcer said, you should ref the game the same from the first sec to the last and that's what they did. If anything it was a makeup call from all the other missed calls (eg. Morris two fouls where he literally backed off his assignment and Reed getting pushed out of bounds). If UCLA would have been the shooter no one would care, but since its KU its a big deal. Good Officiating and good game.
@dodgerboy86 You mean when Texas starting hitting lucky bank shots, and KU was tired from staying up all night grieving the loss of Thomas Robinson's mother? BTW KU was up 11 at half, emotional and physical fatigue gave that win to UT. It was clear who the better team was in KC when KU rolled them from start to finish.
The one thing for certain is that you never see a call on any play like this outside of a joke place like kansas. Look no further than fair play to see the reason for post season fall off at kansas.
Joe Swanson, this is without a doubt one of the ignorant comments I have ever seen. You are also a whiny baby, and a sore loser! A joke place like Kansas? You mean a program that is 2nd in overall wins, has made 5 final fours in the last 15 years, and has made 15 overall. Under Bill Self, they have made the Elite 8 10 times, and made the title game 2 times, winning once and losing once. And they have have 3 title game appearances in the last 15 years. A joke would be a program like Missouri, a team that does NOT know the meaning of the word win. Like K-State too.
#1 definitely pushed Reed out of bounds at 0:24....If you don't think that's a foul, you're doing it wrong. And that last call was definitely a foul! KU played bad, but the won, and UCLA played solid. Rock Chalk!
Also saying at a place like isn't saying only. I'm sure many other places with horrible bias would get it also. Kansas is good but the long win streaks are helped out by pathetic homecourt calls
Joe Swanson, no they aren't. Ku has beat plenty of teams, plenty of solid teams on that court because they have good coaching, and good players. Stop whining and crying like a bitch for god sake. You are just another hater. UNC, Kentucky, Duke get these same calls.
@sansburni That's why almost every analyst, journalist, even the NCAA all said it was a foul right? I guess they're all KU fans too huh? The UCLA player clearly had his arm on Little as he was throwing up the desperation shot (pause at 0:42) and since both players had their momentum going forwards, it made the UCLA player run into Little, hence the foul being called.
I was at the game.. it was definitely a foul.. Wish it didnt end that way but it did and there is nothing anyone can do about it. People need to relax and stop with the conspiracy crap. It is one game and its still early in the season. UCLA played great but fell short. End of story.
Bad officiating in this game it was fitting it ended the way it did. KU got ripped off in the '07 tournament and now KU has beaten UCLA 2 years in a row so I guess we're even.
@MrBob2892 Hey how about the BS call that favored UCLA in the 2008 NCAA tournament? Seems like the only joke here is one of your Final Four appearances...
@jayhawksrock1 I completley disagree. You say that because you are a Jayhawk fan, so of course you think it's a foul. Both UCLA players clearly try and step away from the Kansas player who was completley out of control and should have been called for a foul if anything. bullshit call to keep the bullshit home winstreak alive
it doesn't have to be conspiracy or jealousy to see it was a terrible call that is never called at the college level. If you guys would just admit that you wouldn't look like such babies
@MrBob2892 You said "NEVER see a call like this anywhere else". Pretty sure that the word NEVER anywhere else means Kansas is the ONLY place this happens. Regardless I am done arguing with a moron who obviously did not watch the entire game. The refs were mostly bias to UCLA the entire game.
@MuslimPigFuckers hey mr bob said it only happens at kansas so I was just proving him wrong. As for the call, the NCAA lead officials office reviewed the play and disagrees with you. Look it up.
I think it was a foul, I was about 25 ft away from it in person. Though I do think it is a foul, I don't think it should have been called. No one wanted to win this way, trust me.
@jayhawksrock1 to me it actually looks like the UCLA player actually has his feet set and if anything tries to turn away from the Kansas player. And if you think that that is "control" you and I have diffrent meaning of that word. He grabs the ball, and hucks it at the backboard...that is not control.
sansburni The UCLA player had his hand on the KU player’s back, that sometimes is all it takes to be called a foul. It’s up the ref’s discretion to make the call or let it go.
