UConn did some different things than usual. They played a good game, then would turn on the jets, usually defense, and increase pressure suddenly. In the 2nd qtr with about 4 minutes to go they did it and again in the 4th with 8 min. to go and then the last few minutes of the game. All through the game movement on offense was good, pace was good, passing was good, and shooting was okay. 4th qtr AZ just took off. That was a good Marquette team, better than last year, and UConn handled them pretty well with 3 1st team players out. I thoroughly enjoyed watching that game.
You can tell that Azzi was raised by great basketball playing parents. She is well schooled also. Her technique is just about perfect. Not fast, just deliberate great play.
The whole game was played well by both sides until the fourth quarter when Yukon blew Marquette off the floor and out of the field house. Lots of fans & sports' writers think that Azzi Fudd was the star and she sure knocked down 3-pointers like they were free throws, but Dorka Juhaz has three or four long jump shots and Evina Westbrook stole the ball, and scored on drives, sank jump-shots too. In fact, she played on a professional level. All three contributed on both ends of the floor. Certainly, there is no doubt that Azzi Fudd, a freshman, has senior skills, but don't forget that Westbrook has had four years to smooth & polish her pro level skills. The steal she turned into a coast-to-coast layup was beautiful because it combined defense with offense. Nevertheless, Azzi's 3 consecutive three-pointers broke Marquette's spirit. U-Conn needed all three, and those three needed Niki Muehl & Christian Williams, and got spirited contributions from both. In summary, the win over Marquette was a good team effort by all with superstar performances by three.
Agree team win. Disagree about Westbrook she has been absent most of the season and has just started doing what we all hoped she would do starting with the Tennessee game. Hopefully she keeps it up. Fingers crossed.
Great game!!! Hope CD4, ONO, PB will soon be healthy and Aubrey too. Hope for a healthy squad for the rest of the year. And thank you for the upload, you are the best!!!
Really I think there on court persona is very different. Paige has much more a fiery demeanor on court. Azzi smiles and goes about her business. Skills are both awesome from looking from the 3 point line Azzi's release is quicker. I think so far and just a small sample mind you Paige really sees the court a little better. Both are going to be just awesome to watch when they get on the court together. Which from the looks of things may be till march madness if Paige comes back at all this year.
Excelente...excelente..aunque Uconn no cuenta con todas sus jugadoras titulares, se destacaron hoy las No. 35 y 22. La zona de la defensa fue cambiada,, mi jugadora favorita Christy Williams se lució agueridamente...!!
I was at this game. Lots of fun! A striking event for me was so many young girls following Paige Buechers around pre-game. I am an Iowa UCONN fan. The opportunity to come to Milwaukee to see the Huskies was more important to me than the Super Bowl. This is the closest UCONN gets to me.
just to see the two announcers Lisa and Christy is a breath of fresh air........I don't know how I will feel about them by the end of the game, but it is such a relief to not have to listen to the negativity of Megan's comments for a change!! by the way, I have not started the game yet
OK...right near the end of the first half they totally forgot they were supposed to be "calling" a BB game and started telling stories instead.....they missed two times up the court....very unprofessional.........but at least not so negative
Both rims vibrate/bounce as if they are trampolines... The Refs and NCAA should have Regulations Governing this.... They should check before each game along with the amount of lighting... Mid court it was A-OKAY but at the baskets it was a little dark, not just from the painted lane being darker either... The refs should be told to walk the court with a light meter and check the lumens if it is not right amount in an area then the home team, Major University with vibration of the rims/lighting problems have certain amount time to fix these problems or they forfeiture of the game.... No, just because both teams will have to suffer the same un-ideal conditions is no the correct idea/answer......The vibration may even leave the basket/rim not level to the floor... It needs to be checked also, the rim's axis or the radius of the rims if not level if not then it could throw off the people shooting at it!!! I am saying it might tilt to the front of back or one side....
I actually got to attend this game the lighting was just fine. maybe you should ask fox to replace there cameras. lmfao!!! How's the lighting upstairs is what I wonder. You really do come up with some really off the wall stuff. There was nothing wrong with the rims either. Your off your rocker man. 72 points the rims were just fine. where do you come up with this crap. Brainiac with no clue.LOL Lumen schmoomens. I say check your lumens upstairs there professor. Because you way over thought this one.
@@anthonytomassi5705 You did hear the rims when the ball hit them!!! They were as bad as the ones on a play ground are after the men have dunked on them.... Watch the video and see the lighting at center court the a the baskets... the amount of light is very different....
@@anthonytomassi5705 Watch the Shadows on the court and if you see any at mid court or at the basket area..... The rim bounces as if the it was on court at a play ground in neglected park....
@@stanwebb3480 Again I was at the game if it was anymore well lit I would have been wearing sunglasses. maybe there cameras sucked shit who knows. If every court was identical there would be no home court advantage. refs have enough to do prepping for game. the thought of having light meters borders on ridiculous. I have never been in a gym where lighting has been a problem unless they just plain went out. who cares about the sound coming off the rim. both teams are shooting at the same baskets. Its the springs in the break away baskets making that noise. That noise happens in a lot of gyms by the way. Your way to analytical about some of the really off the wall stuff. Having a daughter who played D1 ball. I have seen those vibrations from many break away rims. the ball does not come off any differently than any other rim. Hey I got an idea lets get so technical about the stupid stuff mentioned here and let robots play the game.
