I thoroughly enjoyed this whole game. UCONN showed that they are dominant when all are healthy. Caroline really helps out on defense even though the numbers don't show that. She just needs more games to be herself again. We all know South Caroline is the ultimate challenge.
They showed a stat which was surprising. In the tournament V had won by a margin of 3pts, in 2 games totaled. UConn had won the 2 by 56 pts. That's a clear indication of how strong UConn is when your opponents know how you play and you still win big. As well as Dillon coaches V and how well Siegrist scores, they couldn't outplay tournament opponents by big margins. If they're a top-10 team, then UConn is really doing well. Nika kept the tempo up and was making great passes. I hope Aubrey and Lou and Carol are alright. This up-tempo games is a danger to all the players, though it really works for UConn scoring. Now time to recover.
@@urmother1363 nothing she’s fine. Just the end of the season when their bodies have taken a beating because of this difficult schedule and the amount of playtime.
I love this team....they never gave up...Dorka, Edwards and Griffin are in beast mode....and what can you say about Lou and Nika....With Azzi back it gives this team a whole other danger factor...Go UConn!
Watching Jana El Alfy and her fire and edge and actually giving Edwards tips on the bench. OMG next year when she starts to play I really feel she is going to be scary good.
In the third quarter Villanova player #10 is called for a foul on Nika; the Villanova player dances around, runs over, jumps up and grabs the rim in disgust at the call --- on what planet is that not a technical foul??
Thank you MJL243, again, your work and very quick turnarounds are greatly appreciated. Looking forward to watching a BET Tournament replay triple header!!!!!!!
Aaliyah really stepped up so much this year, and this team really needed her to do that. Go UConn young ladies! Keep playing hard and keep up the stamina for the furious pace you will face.
Thank you MJL for always being so reliable in providing coverage of these games for those of us whose cable company (ours is Frontier) no longer carries SNY. I used to have to go to sports bars to watch the games, and then I found out about you MJL, and now I am so blessed that I can watch all the games in the comfort of my own home--with my awesome "game" food. LIFE IS GOOD !!! We are blessed....and all is well. P.S.: My faith was right up there throughout the entire game and it never waned nor waivered...these ladies are awesome and they should be very proud of themselves (especially with all the injuries they dealt with). One regret I have (but I've accepted) is Paige having to deal with her surgery, unfortunately missing the entire season. Looking fwd to her return. Now on to the National championship!!! As for me...I not only believe in miracles....I live on them. Miracles are SUPPOSED to happen. Over and out.
Good game. I wish geno would have subbed in the fourth quarter. I feel like that’s why we had been successful the whole game fresh bodies. That fourth quarter was alittle sluggish. But overall all good.
Another night of UConn getting beat up. Nika getting whacked in the head several times, Aubrey getting called for a travel (because she was fouled at least twice), and Aliyah getting pushed down which resulted in a Villanova 3… no fouls there 🙄
UConn overload watching these past games - cannot stop myself - so proud of our women - let's hope for a deep run - Final Four destiny? Championship? Why not? After all we are the best ever!
Great fight putting a tough season in the conference to an end and you can tell the Huskies just wanted it more than anyone else how they never stuck up and kept on fire the whole tournament. Aaliyah, Dorka, Nika and Lou just amazing players. I truely believe they can beat anyone no matter where UCONN gets seeded in the end and where anyone else is ranked. The final four is definitely probable and beyond that everything is possible.
I love how they tap the paw of #1 the Husky mascot when they go off the floor. Also Yanna el Alfy is really getting into the team spirit. It's exciting.
I have been to this arena only once! It was around the holidays in 2021, and I saw a Trans Siberian Orchestra concert. One day, I am hoping to possibly attend a Connecticut Sun game.
Some comments over the course of this season have called some players "thugs" and other such unflattering terms. I don't think players are thugs at all. Players are playing within the way refs are officiating the game. Ultimately, the NCAA is responsible for style of play based on how they instruct refs to officiate.
UConn played Siegrist 3 times. Her Average for the year is 29 and the most she scored in any game against UConn was 22. Aneesh Morrow of Depaul, played twice against UConn with an average above 25, she scored 25 and 20.Caitlin Clark scored 25, below her nearly 28 average for Iowa. Latson for FSU and D. Miller from Maryland were both well below their averages. The only exception was Horston of Tenneessee, who had 27 , above her average, but the Huskies won by 17. Defense is the name of the game. By the way, Czinano of Iowa had 8 against UConn while averaging double figures.
@@Tman0517 I believe Geno knows how to ply the game, especially defense. He didn't get all those wins out of a cereal box and its defense that wins championships. Don't count them out yet in 2023. SC beat them by 4 and neither Ducharme nor Fudd played in the game. Of course we don't know if they will play again. It's one game at a time. Don't look too much at the opponent, play UConn basketball. Tonight we find out their next opponent.
@@go2hvn2008 hi, I went down a rabbit hole and ended up at all my sports teams suck. It looked legit? Oh well, I am male and over 65 and I am sticking with excuse til….
Any chance you will continue to provide the games thru the Tournament ? I checked and ESPN will not be carrying all the games and we do not have access to cable services.
The NCAA needs to adopt a rule that the WNBA has. Any hit, foul, etc at the neck or above is immediately viewed for a possible upgrade from a common foul. It's getting out of hand.
Once again, the Big Girls showed up big. That's not to say that LouLou, Nika, Azzi, & Caroline went on a coffee break. No, that's to say that Dorka & Aaliayah Edwards crashed the boards, put the ball on the floor, and bounced bunnies off the backboard & into the rim. Certainly, LouLou's 5/8 from the field was very good, Azzi scored from 3-point range, & Caroline showed her character & courage, plus she scored, assisted, defended, & made the ball move. Seriously, she's not taking as many shots to the head, face, mouth, & boobs as Nica, but Caroline is willing herself back into the game and she's performing well. That quick pass to a cutting Edwards would have been a highlight assist, but Aaliayah, uncharacteristically, missed the bunny. However, Dorka & Aaliyah shot the lights out with their left & right bunny-hooks and drives to the basket. LouLou hit from the outside and bunnied from the inside. Nika showed a pull-up jumper from the free throw line, a la Haley Jones that we want to see again, but Dorka not only drove to the hoop, she also showed control of her speed, body & shooting hand. I saw her stop & pop a jumper. Finally, Griffin, although she couldn't get anything to drop, showed that no woman in D1 can keep up with her speed after 3-steps. More Phil Handy videos for her. Thanks everybody for a game which foreshadows the performance of the team in March of '23.
Dalce plays with so much anger. Victim mentality. She would be a far better player if she would focus on self control. Look at how Nika has improved exponentially by getting her emotions under control.
UConn, tiene 7 jugadoras con capacidad anotadora del exterior y 6 con potencial para anotar de 3 puntos , pero su Coach insiste en anotar desde la pintura
The NCAA rules committee has got to be a bunch of stuffed shirts with little to no athletic experience. Last year they obviously instructed officials to call screening fouls extremely tight. This year they have apparently intructed officials to "let them play." Injuries are bound to happen while refs try to decide whether or not they will call a foul, and this year, much of the time, refs do not call fouls with this "let them play" attitude. Also, the NCAA apparently does not coach their refs to maintain an active posture during the game. Most refs assume a stance that looks very much like they are waiting for a drink at the hotel bar. They need to take an athletic stance, a stance preparing them for action; as it is currently, refs appear bored. Granted, officiating is a highly subjective exercise, but because some cloistered group of stuffed shirts is deciding how to manipulate refs during games the result is inconsistency from ref to ref, inconsistency from quarter to quarter, certainly inconsistency from half to half. Sadly, it's the players who suffer as they play their hearts out.
