@@StoryGordon I don't think this team has the depth to go 4 for 4 but I wouldn't be surprised at them getting one out of four. The center Olivia has to dominate like Azura did last year. As you saw in this game if Phee or Lou get into foul trouble or have a bad game this team is very vulnerable. Next year when the seniors are gone will be too much to recover from. That will be the rebuilding stage.
@@marvelandgroup - Bench depth is overrated. Geno and Muffet wins close games with starters playing more than 190 minutes... even all 200. In the UConn/ND game, starters played 184/185. UConn would have played more, but Pheesa sat for 8 minutes with foul trouble.
Christyn Williams is going to be a great addition to an already stellar squad. She's blessed with great shooting and get-to-the-hoop skills and, unlike high school, is playing with teammates who can get her the ball. The UCONN ladies move the ball better than any other team in women's collegiate basketball. They are all good dribblers, but dribble less than any other team. They often score without the ball ever touching the floor. It's unselfish teamwork at its best.
@@gabev8446 Ref right there, it would had been called....looks like they saw all ball and Mabrey throwing herself on the floor, just as she did to get a second foul on Collier.
I really dislike marina mabrey. Very dirty player. How about you hustle and get back on defense instead of complaining to the refs ever single possession.
A great game by Lady huskies...hitting on all cylinders...congrats to the freshmen (Kristin and Nellie) for awesome play! Katie Lou, Collier and Crystal...great core for a championship team! Walker is a solid shooter...like to see her hustle more on defense. Hope UConn young ladies play this well in the final four matchup on April 5th, 2019...IJN> Go UConn Ladies!
Too bad you left out the T and the unsportsmanlike foul called on Arike “Dancing With the Stars” Ogunbowale. It’s one thing to lose, but it’s another to lose ugly. Very poor showing by the Irish.
She took multiple cheap shots at Dangerfield during the game, and undercut Williams on that drive to the basket late in the game. Mabrey ran her mouth all game, too, and could have been "T' d up for it. Physical play is one thing, and UCONN does that, too, but cheap deliberate fouls like those we saw today are telling. ND should be ashamed of themselves for their style of play today.
Ernest Cameron Yes they are. I watch them play one year in CT at this place I use to work at and I was up close and personal and saw everything and even their mascot have a dirty presence and was rude to the crowd.
I did know ND could play so dirty even that star player. Looks like one of them said something inappropriate to Geno as they were shaking hands. Sore losers...
That was Arike who snubbed Geno. She complained in the postgame interview that he had baited her during the game. Maybe it was about all the cheapshots she laid on Dangerfield during the game, and the undercut she put on Williams late. Physical play is one thing, but cheap fouls are not going to be tolerated. The refs will deal with it both ways.
I have been a reasonable Irish fan for decades, and I don't remember a topic that got this much coverage. I hope that Muffet M personally contacted Geno & apologized. I hope that AO personally contacted CD and apologized. If those two acts didn't happen, then I find these narrow ND tweets empty. The sad part about this is that the ND teammates AO get brushed with the same unsportsmanlike brush. AO is appearing to be an emotional problem and very poor sportsperson !
Notre Dame dirty play that's why we beat your assessment should have done it last year but get you all assessment this year gonna win all with this williams
In my opinion she should have been suspended for that flagrant foul on Crystal when they were walking the ball up the floor after the UCONN made basket at about the 1:45 mark; of course if you weren't watching the game, you wouldn't have known anything about it, because the announcers particularly Holly Rowe, chose that time to gab about everything but what was going on, on the court. Even though what she was talking about was important, you can't let it detract from the action on the court. They never once mentioned that Mumbawale was thrown out of the game for the unsolicited attack on Crystal. I noticed in the Tourney last year, though she is a very good player, she is a hot head and dirty player when things don't go her way.
@@MrRandyv I did watch and I did see that. I know exactly what you mean about the commentators not focusing on that. It seems like players throughout ND's history have always had this attitude of being above people. If you look at players like Ogumbawale, Mabrey, Achonwa, McBride, etc., there always seems to be a conceded attitude. To me, that is a reflection on the coaching staff. I dont want to make assumptions but it seems like they're not helping with personal development along with their playing development. If you look at UCONN players past and present, those ladies exhibit a sense of class and humbleness and I think that's a reflection on coach Geno and the other staff.
Jimmie Smith exactly. If ND made it to the final four and continue this nasty behavior they will be disqualified. It’s one thing to play clean physical basketball but once you’re intentionally playing a nasty game, it doesn’t look good. ND have some cocky players and the young lady that said dirty things out of her mouth, should sit out a couple of games to teach her nasty mouth self a lesson.
Rewatching this I noticed how dirty ND players were, hitting Uconn players in the face as they shot, under cutting them when they get beat on drives...classless
You all know Kara Lawson doesn't really like UConn. She is still upset the way the Huskies disrespected Tennessee back in the 1995, 2003 and 2004 finals. LOL!
Well ... 1) that UCONN player was fouled by that particular ND player. 2) The ND player tries to grab her and got shrugged off ,ending her on her ass. No bad sportsman there just a foul.
