The illustration re the chalkiness and fallout is example of why we all love your channel. Much appreciation for all the thoughtful points you promote in your videos!
I was so thankful to find late 30's to early 40's you tuber as I find a lot of the tutorials from the popular Beaut you tubers aren't appropriate for my 39y old skin. Then I started watching a few of your vids and find out your over 50 I dont believe it..I hope I look that good in 10 + years time
Angie, thanks for your tutorial on the Naked 2 Urban Decay BASICS palette here. I just bought this over Prime Days July 2023. Your videos last the test of time - lol!
I have both palettes. I bought the first basic palette because it had everything I want for use on a daily basis. I thine bought the two because I loved the first so much. I like them both two but my first basic is the go to one for me. Great and honest review. Thanks!
Thanks Angie, I picked up the naked 2 palette on my recent trip to the states and upon using I noticed how powdery it is, I thought it was a just a UD product thing. Thanks for clarifying as I didn't have a naked original to compare to. I love the colours and find the shadows easy to blend. Please do show us a more dramatic look, I do like a neutral look but also like to amp it up at times too.
I have and love both palettes and have noticed that I tend to gravitate towards NB2 more often. I love the colors. The darkest shades in both palettes are awesome as lower lash liners. Very pigmented with excellent staying power. Thanks for the video and tutorial!
I did notice the fall out in the Naked 2 Basics palette. I have to apply the shadows from this palette first in my routine so that I can adequately clean up under my eyes before applying primer, foundation, etc. I have the Naked 3 palette and experience none of the same issues with fall out. Liked your demo.
Thank you for showing us this demo. I have this pallet and haven't been able to do an eye look with it, which is weird because the colors are so basic. Thanks again.
Thank you sooo much for this review and especially for a basic wear able everyday eyeshadow look! I am sharing this with two of my friends because your tip about lifting your brow and the alternate eyeshadow application technique for crepe-y eyelids is very helpful for us 50 plus gals who are frustrated that our eye make up does not apply the same and looks messy. Thanks again for another great video! You are truly filling a void so keep them coming! Would love to see a wear able cat eye liner tutorial! XO
I just bought this palette and was looking for something basic as a lot of others tend to be a bit dramatic for me. Thanks so much for this video. As a woman in her mid to late forties *ahem* I am looking for vids for more mature skin rather than the 20 year olds you tend to see on YT! All this to say you have a new subscriber! :)
Hi Angie. Thanks for this. I have both palettes and it's interesting you mentioned the fall out because I noticed it too. No 2 seems more powdery, but I do like the cooler colours...Just have to remember to tap! I love a natural eye look like you do. You look stunning in the video, really glowing. Helen xo
Thanks for demoing the NB2 palette. I've had my eye on it for a while. Other than testing it on my hand at Ulta or Sephora, I haven't seen it demo'd where it belongs - on eyelids! Thanks. ~Glory
Thanks for this review. I just bought this pallet from ulta. I don’t buy eye shadow often. Maybe every 6 months. I’ve been disappointed by the store brands. I thought I’d try the naked 2 after seeing a video on it. I’m always looking for products that are good for my more mature skin.
I love this palette so much. It is much powdery than the first one. I noticed that as well. I still love it. The colors blend out so well! Loved your review and tutorial! xo Nicole
I meant to tell you how pretty your hair looks curled on your eye primer video. This video too! Gorgeous! Both palettes are nice aren't they. I just have so many nude/ Matte palettes I decided to wait until I "need" this one! Looks fab on you. Sandra
I have the first Naked Basics and the Naked 2 and much prefer the second one. I like the colors so much better and I don't mind the formula at all as long as I remember to tap first:)
I have the UD Naked Basics palette and while I love the colours I was disappointed by the huge amount of fallout it has. I have a large Naked palette which is much creamier and with almost no fallout or powderiness. I would have bought the Naked 2, but, they were all out when I went to buy, I'll still get it, because I love the matte colours. It will be interesting to see if the fallout is as you describe. I'm starting to think certain batches have issues.
Gorgeous and classy Angie. BTW I ordered the BJ brush set immediately after your review (something I've never done before) and they arrived 2 days later. They are great. I really love using the angled brush for my outer v as they suggest (like where you used the Sims on this demo). I have been getting such great results with less effort for that area of eyes. The only negative thing I'd have to say is there was a very strong chemical odor when I opened the bag of brushes. I suspect it was the glue used in manufacturing. I don't smell it on the brushes anymore. I really don't need any more neutral shadows, but I'll keep this look in mind and also this palette if I decide I need a good basic travel palette. Thanks!
I really love the UD basics 1 and 2... Both are flattering and create a beautiful look.//i think of the two , 1 is my fav and ive hit pan in it already LOL...but two is a close second!
Thanks for another great video. I get a lot of great tips from you! You look really pretty in this one, your skin looks beautiful! I definitely see an big improvement in your skin from a year ago.
Thank you for the tutorial. It is so pretty, and much more suitable for my life as a stay at home mom. I have been frustrated at some of the tutorials that look great on the young youtuber, but makes me look like a drag queen when I try to recreate it on myself.
@@AngieHotandFlashy Glad to hear it since I ordered it! Enjoyed your Prime video & working through your Nordstrom one atm. Thank you for these & the helpful links-so glad companies do affiliate ones to give back to you as well!
Loving that UD Naked Basics 2. Thanks Angie for sharing your videos. I'm still looking for a combo skin foundation. I have now purchased about 10 or so different foundations and still have not found one that is good for oily skin and dry skin. I really want one that looks very natural. The only thing that really catches me I on every woman how their foundation looks, I feel most women wear or buy the wrong foundation. Any suggestions?
Love your videos, and I always appreciate your very honest opinions. I've tried many things you have recommended and am always been happy with them! Thank you! I'm working on skin care, and while my skin is improving, I'm having trouble getting my blush to blend as beautifully as you do--any suggestions? Thanks for your videos!
I noticed the texture difference right away! I own Naked, Naked 2, Naked Basics and Naked Basics 2. I almost returned Naked Basics 2 because of the powdery texture but didn't because I love the colors and if careful with application the performance is great. Wonder why the texture difference though?
I think I want the second palette now as I like the cooler colors. Just so you know I order from Timeless now and use the Vitamin C ++ and hyaluronic acid and then I've added Rose Hip Seed oil to my regime. I am noticing a nice difference in my skin--thanks! Oh I also use RetinA at night.
I noticed you listed the sephora pencil eyeliners in this video again. I purchased them after you talked about how great they are. They did not stay on my eyes....as is what I find with all pencil eyeliners. The only eyeliner I have found that stays on my eyes is Laura mercier cake eyeliner. I always go back to that one.
Yay for a matte palette!! So hard to find the "right" shades AND so many that are matte in one palette. Thank you for the tutorial!! PS got my skirt from Anthropologie, SO CUTE!! XOXO
I, too, noticed the fall-out! I hate to have to 'tap' the powder off because I feel like I'm wasting it. Love the colors of both pallets but prefer my Naked 1. Isn't there a new Naked 3 out?? I haven't used it. I've started using creams in both pot form and stick form. They go on really well over our old and wrinkly eyelids! Are you really liking the Tarte Clean Slate 360 Primer? I think that's my next purchase.
Hi Angie.I on't own any UD stuff but in the UK we have make up revolution which are great.I find putting them on with the sponge applicators are great as totally no fall out at all.I then just use a blending brush.Waiting on Makeup Geek shadows,Yay :) xx
Thanks for your candid review of the Naked 2 palette. I read in the description box you're wearing the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Foundation today. Your skin looks absolutely beautiful. Will you be doing a review of it soon?
Thanks for the review and the tutorial. I'm going to try this look, so appreciate the tips. I really like your foundation and powder in this video, your skin looks beautiful!
OK, Angi, throw me a bone here. I am so curious about your educational, career background. Absolutely everything you do is perfect (in my eyes). I even watched some of your older videos to get a clue, but no luck. But, thank you for always providing great information. Blessings.......MaryEllen
Thanks for the great video! I watch them all. Loved your hair in this video! Can't wait for your video on the hunt for good mineral sunscreens. I am using a chemical sunscreen now and hate it but am waiting to see your opinion before I buy something else!
I've had my Naked Basics pallette for a really long time and I use it almost every day. I really like it but I feel like some of the colors are (becoming ?) powdery. Ditto for my fav color (Naked) from the original naked pallette.
Hi Angie, there is a nice matte cool taupe eyeshadow in a Maybelline palette "The NUDES." They don't name their colors on this but it's the top row, second in from the left. I use Lorac Pro as my base palette but if I need nude colors, this Maybelline palette seems to have it all with choices in cool, neutral and warm colors. They don't fallout and the colors are right on. The quality isn't as nice as Lorac Pro. I don't own any UD eyeshadows to know how the quality compares but I'm sure UD is better. Curious to hear your thoughts, perhaps review. Thanks!
Hi Angie, I love your channel and am so appreciative for the many product reviews. I’m having great results from Retin A and love all of your picks except for this one. I too love the colors in this palette and they look beautiful on you, but I found these shadows emphasized my crepey lids and separated after only short wear. Has anyone else experienced this? I like the Two Faced matte palette so much more, but still hope to find one I like better. Anyone with other brand suggestions?
Thank Angie loved this look did it this morning for work! Have you tried the bare minerals complexion rescue? Interested in this or the it cc cream. What do you think? Love your opinion ☺️
I got the Bare Minerals CR a month ago… need to review it, everyone's asking. I like it, it's quite different from the IT CC cream… if you wanted sheer go with the BM, for more coverage go with IT.
Love our bright "Spring" look and your hair looks incredible! Great review & demo. I found myself wondering what you looked like in your 20s. You are beautiful and striking in your 50s and when you joke about aging skin (which I get) I always laugh & identify. Would you consider sharing some pics of you "back in the day"? Don't want to be invasive just thought it would be fun! :0)
SuperYakgirl I put some pics from 'back in the day' at the end of a hair video I did a while ago kind of a hair retrospective but you can see my evolution... here's the link (skip to about 20:30)!: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ir7k5DMwLgY.html
Good morning Angie! Beautiful tutorial as usual, thank you very much, but wait there's more... You often say your eyelids or your lips or your skin, or something is not as great as it used to be. Well I would like to see that for myself. I'm betting it's pretty darn close. You always look great, and everybody else thinks you look great so why don't you post some old pictures so we can see how 'old' you really have become. I'm betting we'll all be SHOCKED! 😉 have an awesome Tuesday!! Xoxo C
I went on a neutral palate makeup haul and concluded that I liked the physicians formula one the best; I actually thought the quality was better than the naked palate but I seem to be the only woman on the planet that thinks so...
D Smith No, I've never even seen them in stores. I did see Michelle (makeupMLC) talking about one and to me it looked just like the Sonia Kashuk Eye On Neutral palette I got at target...
I would love to see a more dramatic look as all the looks I have seen with this palette have been very very very neutral with no pizzazz. Thanks Angie. ♥ Elle
Elle Is For Living I like to do a sort of everyday smoky eye with this palette, I basically just do Stephanie whatserface's "dome shape" in each colour, from light to dark, starting with Stark almost all the way up to the brow and then applying Frisk in the same shape but a little lower down, and so on, finishing with the darkest colour all over the lid. The reason I do it in that shape is because I have very hooded eyes, but it works for pretty much any eye shape. Just keep two word in mind: Graduate and Blend and it'll work out great! :)
but I am curious. I have written in your comments before - that your eyes look soooo different. in recent months they are less hooded and you have a huge browbone now and crease. I happen to notice in THIS video - that at the very beginning, your left eye looks like it used to for a few secs than back to the way it has been looking lately. so I'm very curious!
I like the products you decide to review but u like something and then focus alot of negativity on the product , it's concadicory, I don't know weather to try it or not half the time, all tho I do enjoy your videos.
