I happened to find a Boom 3 fairly recently. It was abandoned in the street, a little dirty, but still workable. It even was well charged, so it basically was a piece of serendipitous luck I found it. Thankfully I was on my regular walk that day, and managed to find something out of the usual.
Love my T-Mobile version Megaboom 3. Use it at my work and the sound is very good and love the fact that its very durable, completely waterproof, mud, dust, snow etc
It was a great review and by a woman - why should't be a thing but whenever I Google for a review it's usually men so it was really refreshing. Really happy I found you
Awesome Review! I chose the Megaboom 3, listened to the boom 3 in stores it sounded good but really lacked bass. Love my megaboom really happy i made that choice! Thankyou!
These speakers are great - I have both the Boom 3 and the Megaboom, but the app is crap. (I have an Android). That's not a big problem if you just want to use these as vanilla BT speakers - they're loud and low distortion, and I love that they're waterproof. The Megaboom has great bass - the Boom 3 is just adequate. But don't count on the app.
I get thundering bass because I went into the app and custom made my own EQ so I put the bass all the way up and the treble all the way up and it gives me so much thundering bass.
Thanks for the video, very informative! I have a question; a friend of mine introduced me to the Boom 3, she has one, and we've enjoyed a few spontaneous hallway dance parties with that thing - it's so easy to hold and dance at the same time! It seems that the Megaboom 3 has better sound quality but... would you say that it's too large to comfortably and easily hold in your hand while you're having a boogie?
The Mega Boom 3 most Be Awesome every body that talk about The Boom 3 & Mega Boom 3 alway if you are going to get a use boom Speakers get the the mega boom 3 Thank you I can’t wait here your what you have to say about the JBL Extreme 2 keep up the good work
0:55 Unfortunately the large center button **isn't** the Power Button - it's actually the new "Magic Button". The Power Button is the smaller button just in front of the center button.
The new megablast has voice control and Alexa but you have to have a Spotify subscription to be able use voice control for your but for Alexa it is great
Is it ever hard/complicated to pair a Bluetooth speaker? Iol. Appreciate the bass descriptions. These things are handy, but as all portable speakers, they lack bass and thus depth
Sad to hear someone having better luck with these speakers than I have. I have returned probably 5 of these speakers and after the 5th one the best buy employee kicked me out of the store saying it was my fault.....
Nice review Erin. As far as sound quality how would you compare it to Alexa? I guess what I am wondering is if you have an Alexa why would you need a blue tooth speaker. I don't have the Amazon Alexa but was seriously thinking about getting it but lately I have been leaning towards the new Google Home Hub.
Hi Mr Bob, thanks for watching. It’s very comparable to the sound quality of an Amazon Echo. The bonus of Echo is that you do get Alexa voice control. If you already have an Echo you would definitely not need this speaker also.
15 hours and 20 hours in 50% volume, but my test shows you never get 15 and 20 hours in these speakers. Well!! 100% volume you get maximum 4 hours which is just OK. I really like UE series Bluetooth speakers! 👍👍👍
Good luck! I have two megaboom 3s. They rarely work as they should. Usually takes between 2-5mins to get them to play along. A lot of times one speaker doesn’t work. Then you gotta disconnect everything. And try from scratch. It’s a nightmare.
Hey, lovely video but I recently got a new ultimate ears mid October. When I put it in the water it doesn’t really float and when half submerged it cuts out. I thought it worked under water. Please help
My understanding is the speaker floats so you can retrieve it if it falls in, and the water resistance is in case of accidents. I don't think it's actually designed to play under water.
Be careful.. couple weeks i tried to download latest firmware to my boom 1 for the first time ever and it crashed midway and completely bricked the speaker. the power light won't even turn on. i wish i had not tried to update the firmware as i was enjoying it just fine..
by the way i 've tried all the various reset methods but nothing changes. completely bricked . i also spoke with customer service but as my speaker is >2years old the warranty will not be honoured .. despite it was totally their firmware upgrade that broke it. my last option is to open it up, remove battery 30s and then re-install battery and hope it goes through its own bootup cycle to load default firmware from memory... otherwise, time to get a new MegaBoom 3 :D
Sonos is wireless in that it doesn't need speaker wire to connect it; but it does require constant AC power, so it's always plugged in. Whereas the Boom speakers are fully wireless and run off a rechargeable battery.
Erin Lawrence, I moved from Pixel 2 XL and I was a bit skeptical. But, my experience has been really great. That Forest Green leather case is great too :)
Seriously. One megaboom 3 is good. But stick two together?!? And you’ll have nothing but frustration. Constant disconnects. Not playing etc. They’re a nightmare when you try to party up.
