All the experienced level designer use these to make a basic blockout, ue4 gives a good overall control over BSPs

I think under 'Select' on the brush you can click "Select Matching Brush" which selects all the faces of the brush you're clicking on. If that helps =) I'm a total noob so it took me a while of monkeying around with it, and then kicking myself because I had textured like every side of a massive staircase by hand.

FYI you can select all the faces on a BSP by selecting one face, then shift+B.

Left Click + Shift B (for selecting all faces)

Hey Bev, I remember using bsp to build UT levels, but would you say that it shouldn't be used for making games in this day and age>? for performance reasons. In UT it was all BSP, in UT2k3/4 it was BSP and Meshes, now it seems to be all meshes.

Hey :) From a technical standpoint I think BSP is actually better for performance than meshes, but due to their simplicity they're very limiting when it comes to adding detail, and you probably know how it is when you have hundreds of brushes in a scene all named 'BoxBrush_###' XD In the past BSPs were the norm because engines couldnt handle a lot of polygons at a time, and the tools for handling meshes were nowhere near as powerful as we have now. Rewatching this video I think I could've been clearer about it coz it sounds like I implied there was a technical reason for not using BSPs.

Is there a way to use/manipulate brushes and edit them inside a blueprint? Then turn them to static meshes ?

I got a question If I may. When doing BSP's after certain amount why does it create problems such as certain areas becoming invisible, bsps dissapearing etc etc. Why does this happen?
