What a picturesque city, and so rich in history. I adore seeing these hidden gems--parts of Japan a tourist would seldom see. Thanks to Satoshi-san for coming up with such a perfect birthday present! It was cool that your destination was a matter of chance. The adventure certainly added to the fun! And, I love your idea, Shinichi-san, of choosing random cities to visit in Japan. Maybe you could use the old pin-in-the-map technique to keep it truly random. Thank you for another interesting and enjoyable video!! ❤❤
Your happiness is infectious during this trip! I couldn’t help smiling throughout the video, even when your chosen restaurant was closed, you persevered and discovered another. I hope you’re able to do more of these “mystery destination “ type of trips, this was a wonderful birthday trip…thank you for sharing it with your viewers. ❤
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos. My dream would come true to visit Japan and you are teaching me so many wonderful places to go……and food to eat. You are ichibandesu!
Love exploring back and side streets when I'm in Japan and finding local shopping areas like this is such a treat. Hoping to find places like this in Sapporo on my next vacation.
Yesterday, here in Sydney, it was 38C our hottest day in 2 years. Today is predicted to be 34C. Normally by March the weather is starting to cool down but of course we have to buck the trend. Your videos are so informative. I also love the fact that you have varied topics.
Bummer you couldn't taste or purchase any sake from Okazaki. I only had it one time but found it delicious. The head brewer is a woman which is not common for such a traditional craft.
I believe Satoshi was saying that the gold that was mined on Sado Island (Niigata, Sea of Japan side) was transported through Ueda on its way to Edo (Tokyo).
