I like that Rampage asked Ariel if he wants to "squash it". It's a reference to a previous interview, where Ariel asked Rampage if he wanted to "squash" the feud.
This is what Joe Rogan was talking about when he said Ariel is the best on interviews, he stays so positive and professional in the Nick Diaz interview and the Rampage interview.
I just see a man having a good time after a win. He seems to be happy that it's over w/ a W for himself. Ariel knows this about Rampage and played along with it. The fighter personalities run the gamut .. as long as they dedicate themselves for our entertainment, who cares if their personalities aren't our cup of tea.
If you've followed Rampage for a long time, you know he does this to reporters ALL THE TIME. He's joking around, he ruins the joke if he starts laughing :)
I love rampage, especially his fighting style and attitude towards fighting. Allot of people forget that he respects mma as an art. He values honor. That's why he likes the Japanese fans so much. However, I am also tired of alpha this and alpha that. People who usually talk like that usually have problems and try assert their dominance to smaller guys. He is just one of those people that knows no one can beat him up so he gets away with it. Remember, bullies also claim "I was just joking".
I'm Canadian and I'm a fan of Ariel, but I do think he is a bit of a weasel sometimes, and I really enjoyed the way Rampage bosses him around, the stuff about Canada at the end was hilarious.
asking direct questions is not a sign of disrespect. UFC fighters want the same recognition as Boxing fighters but don't understand how the press works and that its part of the job.
So many negative comments for such a funny interview. Why? If the "tongue in cheek" sarcasm was not blatantly apparent to all of you then I don't know what interview you were watching.This is just Rampage in "character" raising his own stock as an entertainer along with Ariel's at the same time. Ariel's a great interviewer that held his composure throughout all their interviews together, and hats off to him for keeping it flowing smoothly and professionally! Ariel's humility shines, great job!
Its good to see a fighter and interviewer go back and fourth, I have to say A.H just needs to come back at Ramp or just give alil poke or please rampage serious answers and these go between could be great...
@theez14 if you watch one of Ariel's interview Rampage told him he wouldnt do the interview if it wasnt his friend who asked him. and a lot of times fighters have to do the post fight interviews with reporters. Nick diaz once in an interview said to Ariel " i wasnt gonna do the interview, but they told me I had to..."
@wonder2pac : I think Rampage did respect him with this performance. Ariel's stock just went through the roof from this interview. Jackson is a true showman!
