These significant strike numbers are so stupid. Other than round 1 Erceg was never in trouble, Pantoja was cut open several times and kept tanking left hooks and jabs. Just because he has a good chin and doesn’t seem phased doesn’t mean those aren’t the better shots. You can make an argument for 4-1 Erceg. The biggest strikes of the fight were in round 3, round 2 Erceg was piecing him up, round 4 was clear and in round 5 Pantoja did literally nothing on the ground or on the feet

I'm sorry but to me it was obvious Erceg was the better fighter . He was successfully implementing his game the entire fight , busted Pantoja up bad and Pantoja didn't even administer any damage on the ground . At some point we have to start scoring fights as fights and not grappling matches

Yeah I think shooting that takedown was mistake against a better grappler, but I didn’t think that 90 seconds would have made a difference I think pantoja won them first three and would have won by decision regardless

Pantoja won this 48-47 and the quantity of takedowns and control where the difference maker. Erceg had some good moments on the feet but he did miss a chunk of his overall strikes and he never hurt Alex. Damage is key but It's accumulative damage and you don't win a round or a fight automatically from a cut. Those 2 cuts came from one strike a piece and they never got significantly worse. Erceg simply did not land enough clean shots to take the majority of rounds and he spent a good chunk of time on his back and getting his back taken. Let's not pretend that Alex didn't land solid shots on his Blitz's either, he did. So all together Alex simply did more.
