***** True, but wwe and UFC are completely different and i think you could agree. I mean I hope the best for CM punk but he will not get far or even win his first match. Unless they pair him up with a fighter than even I just some fan with taekwondo expeirence lol can beat. Thats the only way CM wins if they put him against a chump.
+Illuminati “New” World Order Absolutely he's got nuts for going up against a ufc fighter. But so would i if i had the chance. It's disrespectful to the fighters who bust their ass and never make it
Nate was so right. Punk made 500k his first fight, 500k his second fight. Mickey Gall got 30k to submit him. Mike Jackson made 33k to beat him. So Punk made a million dollars in the UFC while his two opponents, both who kicked his ass, made 63k. Nate is so right.
He got more than that, 100% he had the highest points of the PPV than anybody in the UFC recieved before him. I bet he had the highest cut of PPV buys until Connor.
Im wondering why he was paid so much more ?it’s actually a pretty drastic difference, just because he was famous from wwf ? that’s not fair imo and it’s actually super unfair and disrespectful.
The stranger has the potential to put on the table more than the family could ever themself bring in, thereby the stranger did help the family have more access to food they otherwise would've been able to have each following nights.
@@Amor_fati.Memento_Mori and CM punk did absolutely nothing for the company so your comment has no legs to stand on.. UFC fans sat at home watching and wondering why this guy ever thought he could fight, he was a joke and did not belong in the cage.. take a look at the comments, 90% of them agree with Nate, and then you see few WWE fans trying to back up Punk for making a fool of himself like he did in WWE. Any company a man starts working for, he has to pay his pay dues, but for some reason CM Punk thinks he's above and beyond every other man.. in reality, he just can't cut it. He couldn't handle they weight of the WWE and he got smashed by a b-list fighter in UFC. every man has prove himself in any business he stands in, you don't just walk in and start at the top.. that's bullshit and Nate was absolutely right. this new generation thinks everything should be handed to them without working for it and it makes me sick to my stomach.
@@Amor_fati.Memento_Mori It's really stupid to try to make a wrong argument after it's been proven wrong. If it were a prediction, it might be more understandable. But CM Punk did nothing for UFC other than tarnish it. To this day, most everyone looks back at this stunt and thinks, "Man, that was stupid, he did not belong in there."
I used to hate Nate Diaz but over the years have noticed that him and Nick are about the last true fighters left in the ufc. They would fight anyone anytime just for the love of the sport
"They would fight anyone anytime just for the love of the sport" uhm no, nate said he didn't want to fight anyone unless it's conor again, and you know the reason behind it.
And for those saying he was sooo brave for going in there, yeah okey you could make that argument but honestly I think it was just hubris and not bravery. I think that's pretty obvious for anyone willing to see it. Watch post fight interview, he was saying he was extremely confident he would win.
Exactly, put aside the whole "respect for stepping in there." If you put that aside he had no business in there with people who train their whole lives for this and don't make nearly as much just because "they're not a draw."
My only issue with Nate is he can’t fucking talk . 🤣 . Takes 6 minutes to say something anyone else could in 1 . But that aside he made excellent points . All that I agree with .
I can understand what he's saying too, but he's FR punch drunk all the time. That boy has some damage in his brain, and I'm sure he'd do it all again knowing that.
I thought this was so entertaining. I easily understood what he was saying and it made really good sense to me. People need to listen better is really what it comes down to.
I totally get where Nate is coming from. He busted his ass to get in the UFC. But I understand why Punk is in the UFC. He will sell tickets and make the UFC a lot of money. Also, you have to give him props for at least giving MMA a shot. He doesn't have to do it. He's financially secure, and that's what makes it all the more impressive. You know he's doing it because he loves MMA. He's been training BJJ for a few years, so at least he has some sort of base to work off of. I don't see him doing well, but fuck it - give the guy a shot.
if you totally get where nate is coming from how do you make that difficult turn into fuck it - give the guy a shot? lol and the guy actually said he has some kempo and bjj lol
Completely spot on, Only disagreeable thing is he's been training in BJJ for more years than some of the current UFC dudes. I'm not really a fan on Punk going UFC but props to him. The comment about slicked back hair though...Has he not looked at people he's faught himself?
People say he sounds dumb but he stays saying some real shit and makes more money than any of us here, we can hate but he's still winning. Mad respect for the Diaz bros
But punk deserves more money than the other fighters because he is bringing so many WWE fans over to the sport same with lesnar he is a big draw big money
Respect him for speaking his heart or reject him for whining like a bitch? Punk coming to UFC is not going to effect Diaz in any negative way. It is just going to make more money for the company which i guess Diaz doesn't realize is actually good for him.
+Illuminati “New” World Order hasn't tried yet. The pussy is just talking shit in press conferences and on Twitter. He'll fight once and get his face fucked and he'll go straight back to WWE. Fucking WWE fanboys don't know shit
Dana White was trying to milk this. Meanwhile CM Punk is at conventions getting called out by real UFC fighters and he doesn't even notice. And the typical Punk dickriders are too stupid to notice that Punk was being challenged by a legit fighter in UFC and Punk was doing his lame comebacks to the dude. CM Punk's whole existence in the UFC has been a joke, just more promotion to boost Dana White's ego.
I liked Punk in WWE, don't get me wrong but UFC is REAL fighting. And he's 36 years old, he's no spring chicken. And I've seen dudes in Bellator that are more entertaining than UFC guys too. But UFC is the bigger promotion so that's the one everybody flocks too.
"He's got that little nose too, did you see it???? that things a virgin somebody's gonna bust that thing" Nate called it years ago. Haaa! Everyone hated on Nate years ago when he made this interview. They thought he was just hating. Everyone was so excited and nates like wait what about the part where he's never actually fought somebody before??? Nobody really got it till cm punks most recent fight when Mike Jackson popped the cherry on cm punks "virgin nose". Nates looking like a prophet right about now. He called it way back then. !!Represent!!
Yeah I was thinking same thing, but I think aware is a better word than smart. They seem to know what the score is all the time. Just probably couldn’t pass math test. But that’s why they fight
I'm not even a Diaz fan buy lol at all these wwe fans making fun of a guy with a speech impediment. Same fans would lose their shit if you were to make fun of lets say Steve Austin for breaking his neck or Owen Hart for literally jumping to his death for "entertainment."
El Chico hey cyber bullying is not nice what if nate was considering ending his life due to people laughing at his impediment, this is a serious issue here.
El Chico No one of them is about a speaking disability someone was born with and has had to deal and hear about it his whole life... The other is some idiots performing in front of a crowd and choosing to do silly stunts that could lead to their death for a paycheck
i don't know Nate very well but the more I see of interviews of him, the more I see he is truly intelligent and wise, he just can't articulate himself that well. no one is perfect
I'm a huge fan of Nate Diaz, 50% because of him being one of the best fighters in his weight class ever and 50% because of who he is as a human being and his level of intelligence about not only his sport but life in general. Please more interviews with Nate Diaz, he has a lot to say that people need to hear
CM Punk has the same MMA record as me. We both have an amazing 0-0 record. I guess I should go to joe blows MMA school and fight Chris Weidman next year. Hmmm wait, I don't have millions of twitter followers therefore I'm not a good fighter. Everybody knows that Twitter followers translates into martial arts skills. According to the all knowing WWE fans. Don't question the WWE fans, they know everything about real fighting of course.
***** I was a wwe fan for about 15 years. I stopped watching in 2005 because it died off and became quite lame. I know most WWE fans are normal, but a lot of the CM Punk fans are following him into the UFC, and they are unbelievably ignorant and annoying. They try to debate with hardcore MMA purists about MMA, but they have absolutely no knowledge on the subject because they don't watch it.
Mortal Kombat Reconciliation you're right. According to these WWE dick heads, the undertaker would submit half the UFC with his "hell's gate" triangle.
+Craig Miller that's not a speech impediment he's just out of his element with these bright lights and interviewers vs being in the streets dropped out from early on chilling around other kids that dropped out. Plus he says what he says whereas most people think about how to say it first. So it's mostly a matter of feeling too much to say at once and not being uncomfortable socially.
I dont agree with the people saying hes dumb. You have no idea how smart nick and Nates Fighting IQ is. To them Thats there life. Respect it. Cause they're real af.
It's smart when it comes to strictly boxing or even stand up, hell even bjj he'll have the advantage. But he's pretty terrible at adapting. He's good at just weathering the storm and attacking when his oppoenent tries to box back. Look at his fights with Josh Thompson and RDS. He had nothing for those stupid leg punches and he let them pick him apart.
I love Nate, so humble acknowledging that he's rambling but I still enjoy hearing what he has to say. The sad thing is if people are going to pay to go and see a fight then they want to go and see a show. Its like TV, that's why wrestling is so popular - they entertain. Guys like Nate aren't entertainers theyre fighters that's why hes not getting his big cheques, unless he can make himself stand out. The Diaz brothers are doing that now off the back of Connor so you've gotta respect what Connors done for the sport.
Its a "lose, lose" situation to me. If Punk wins his first match, it makes UFC look weak especially after Brock walked and quickly became champion. If Punk loses, it makes UFC look like a joke and pretty much UFC and Dana White will spread their cheeks for any WWE wrestler. Just because someone can draw does not mean you should devalue your product for a huge buyrate. I think it send out the wrong message and not only that it proves UFC is not on the same level as NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB.
So, Philip Brooks isn't a fighter, but he IS training, isn't he? He isn't just walking in UFC and getting a title shot because of his draw and name. Maybe he will suck and man up and not continue. Or, maybe he will be successful and then the Nate Diaz's can go fu*k off and go back to smoking weed while running his mouth as usual. Nick and Nate do nothing but run their mouths. They think acting like fools gets them draws instead of winning fights, hmm. Name one champ that talks trash, picks stupid useless fights outside of the octagon, act immature, and is an embarrassment?
+GekkoStar once said "Name one champ that talks trash?" Mike Tyson, Mohammad Ali, Floyd Mayweather, Ronda Rousey, CM punk in the WWE (LOL) I'm on my phone but when I get on my laptop I'll give you 20 other names.
Yeah yeah, real intelligent "Brandon" I know a little girl named Brandon............... "Toughest in the world" ...........Bitch CM Punk is The BEST In The World ........ He earned his spot, he's bringing eyes and bigger status to all the fighters, he's doing YOU bums a favor ........all you have to do is wait and see ............other than that the only reason anybody will talk shit about him UFC is for one possible reason only, jealousy. If he wants to fight, let him fight, unless your jealous what's it to you?? Makes him even more of a badass to have the balls to step in there with no other UFC fights if you ask me, and maybe you're scared of that because you can't imagine ever doing it yourself which is why you question it. Win, lose or draw... CM Punk has balls... Now you can shut the fuck because you're a stupid.... little... bitch
how cool is Walter Jr and Nate though? ... bet if you tried to get a Bjj black belt and smashed 15 ufc top ten contenders at under the age if 30 year old ? cause you can't talk real good? war Diaz ;)
Jon Jones and Nate Diaz have both said CM Punk doesnt deserve a chance in the UFC. Joe Rogan also said CM Punk needs to build himself up gradually in a smaller orginization first. CM Punk is a white belt in Jiu Jit Su anyway. He wouldnt be able to stand a chance against UFC fighters that have been doing it for years and years.
Probably not. CM Punk is most experienced in fake wrestling shit (wwe) anyway. That's acting compared to the UFC which is real. I don't even see how the little runt made it.
Alex Darling he had some training before so it's not like they gave some random guy off the street a chance. He can fight but just not at the level of ufc guys
Crazy cause the same shit Nick Diaz is saying about Punk is literally the same shit Punk said about The Rock coming back to WWE and main eventing Wrestlemania. He felt like a Hollywood Superstar being put before the other talent undermined the effort of the others in the locker room now he's in UFC and he is that "Hollywood Star" lol hilarious
good ironic point, but it doesnt really applies and a good argument. WWE is purellly a scripted show, competitive sport only in the regards of popularity, in that case it actually makes a lot of sense to use Dwayne J. he is athletic as fuck being a former football player, incredibly charismatic and has a lot of showmanship. on the other hand, the MMA is a real combat sport, so putting an popular amateur does not extrapolates in the same way, and that is when Nate's point shines the most. it is not like there is not a shit load of talent for awsome fights, but this dude got the oportunity ONLY for his popularity, and in PPV none the less, it is trully disrespectfull to the sport, because it pretends to take this boggus fight seriously. Look Danna might be a lot of things people might not like, but he's also created the biggest stage for MMA fighters along with other great people, and at the core, he is a promoter. Just like fighters can be silly, trashy, one track minded... It seems to me that this kind of things is the bad side of promoters we all have to deal with too, along with the good. At the end, his job is to bring eyes towards the octagon, years ago it was done via the freakshow that was mismatching fighters, now it is the trash talk of McGregor, feminist girl power with Ronda and little stunts like this, new people will glance, some will stay, some wont, but at the end of the day more will watch, the enjoyment of MMA will be shed, fighters can get a bigger pay, new avenues will open, more and more gyms will open.
Nate makes a great point saying how’s its unfair the real skilled fighters get paid less yet CM Punk who fights like a bum off the street gets paid ten fold just because he’s famous off WWE.
You can say what you want but Nate is right on the money. Allowing a celebrity amateur to come to the sport at the highest level (referring to UFC) is utterly ridiculous. I have nothing against CM Punk and I don't blame him for taking this opportunity; but for all the people who have sacrificed everything to get a ufc contract this is a huge slap right in the mouth. I felt the same way about Brock who did pretty good. Guys should have to climb the ranks. It's this kind of stuff that makes the company a ton of money but weakens the sport. People who care nothing for MMA will watch and of course they are going to give him a cream puff fighter that he'll probably beat. Then it'll be CM Punk Pandemonium for a guy who does not epitomize what the sport is about. UFC marketing execs need to just get on their job and advertise better so this whole celebrity fighting thing can be a tool of the past.
But this us a buisness like anything else. And cmpunk will draw more money then anyone else. So if these guys stfu and do there job better ufc wouldnt have to do this
cnj393 But that is exactly why CM Punk gets to cut in line, he is going to put asses in seats at least for his first fight, he is going to be bringing his fanbase or at least a large portion of it in ticket/ppv sales just because they will want to see how he does. It's great that you acknowledged it and all but there is nothing wrong with Punk doing this if it benefits the company, Nate is just mad that he doesn't draw money he has no influence or bargaining power to negotiate a real big money contract and he comes off as jaded over it, because he would rather be the cool kid that fights the establishment instead of working with Dana and not opening his mouth all the time, he would be a lot better off if he made an effort market himself and toe the company line.
Love Nate's points when they just let him talk. About anything, he and his brother both are real as hell, and they have a helluva perspective on their sport. True passion w these boys. Virgin nose! Classic.
How is this a RANT or PROFANE? It takes balls to fight but even BIGGER balls to speak out - especially against your paymaster (UFC) - well done Mr Diaz 👍
Nates right.. this wrestler guy needs to earn his place in the UFC like everyone else.. I thought the days of crazy fights passed a long time ago, it does insult the UFC and its fighters.. dont chase the dollar now you have made it as a main stream sport, you will undermine the work you 'the UFC' have done over the last few years. It should be earned.
I think PPV buy-rates have been down, and people speculate that it's due to UFC putting on too many cards with too few "big names." Some weekends they have "double headers" with cards airing from different countries. Unfortunately, they aren't the NFL, or NBA, where they have fanbases so large that they can count on a bunch of people paying for the UFC version of "NFL sunday ticket" in order to watch Tom Brady play on friday, and Peyton Manning play on Saturday. Just stuff I've read, I don't know how much truth there is to it, but CM Punk has like what? 3 million twitter followers? I bet they're hoping they can get even a 1/3rd of them to buy whatever card they put him on, and home that maybe half of those become UFC fans afterward, even if Punk loses. But what if the UFC picks a true jobber, and punk pulls out the win? How many more of his fans will tune in to watch his next fight? My guess is that's what the UFC is counting on. Getting him in there will introduce the sport to his millions of twitter followers that may not have any idea what the UFC is. As someone put it to me that helped me gain perspective: a single NFL team is worth more than the entire UFC. That's how small the UFC is in the grand scheme of things.
Yes, totally agree with what you say they will earn big bucks and open a new fan base. But promo cash fights like this kick the true fight fans that have stood by them in the teeth. It had become almost a thing of legend to be in the UFC and was something really unique and special there for a while.. It was bound to happen I suppose, cash is king. I will look forward to the UFC fighters dressing up soon in a spiderman v hulk match....ow hang on a minute that sounds a bit like the WWF :)
CM Punk is very popular and earned his shot in the ufc. He worked his ass off making a name for himself in life and he should get his shot. Yes it is about money and ticket sales. Welcome to life morons!!!... That's how the business makes money.
residentevil4494 He earned a shot in the UFC by making a name for himself in "pro wrestling?" That's ridiculous?. That would be like saying I earned my shot into the NBA by playing the role of a basketball player on a popular tv show.
tdylan I don't think it is as much busting his ass in pro wrestling as it is busting his ass in general. He has had to work his ass off for 20 years to obtain the celebrity status he has earned. Now that he is a celebrity he can use that to his advantage and go straight into the UFC. I mean at his age it just would not be worth it to start in the amateurs, why not have everyone make a ton of money off of it instead? That, and people don't realize how intense the WWE lifestyle is and how physical it actually is, there are no smoke and mirrors. These guys do crazy dangerous and physically demanding and draining work 300 days a year, are home once maybe twice a week, work 3-5 times a week and train during the day. Has any UFC fighter ever broken their neck in a fight? Has any UFC fighter cracked their skull(happened to Punk in a match)?
When youre still late 30s early 40s that old drug that they used in the 70s will work (for a time) to reverse encephalopathy pugulistica, Alzheimers, Parkinson's, but they eventually deteriorate back to droolin inna diaper. They made a movie called awakenings based onnit. Its very sad and any sport where you are concussed should not be played.
+Jake Gusman i cant understand him now, may aswell buy him an etch-a-sketch to tie round his neck and write what he is trying to say on it now while he can still remember how to use his hands atleast xD
I don't know why the media always refer to these type of interview's as rants, everything Nate was saying was true.. It is just a train of thoughts based on factual information, which is not the definition of a rant. I like Punk but his UFC career has been an embarrassment to the UFC to be honest, Lesnar was a former NCAA champion with great amateur wrestling skills plus proved everyone wrong by winning the UFC championship in just his third UFC fight. To compare the two is spectacularly stupid.
Jack Walsh You’re basing this on your own preconceived notion of what a rant is. Yeah rant is an emotionally charged word, but that emotion doesn’t always mean negative
Punk made a combined 1 million dollars in the UFC as a dude with literally zero fights, meanwhile a veteran like Cowboy made 200k fighting Mcgregor. That is absolutely disgusting.
Punk is just doing UFC cause its a new experience, he wanted to try it and see if he was good at it, its not a problem for someone to try something new to see if they're good at it.
FreeeeBeer They have had contests where someone gets to shoot a shot and they win something if they get it in. And plus your example is flawed, Punk has martial art skills and fighting skills, you have no basketball skills.
Cm punk will draw more money then any other fighter. The fighters should be embarrassed that a fake fighter will draw better than there shitty fights do
Kunle Oyeledun Why should he care, his brother Nick made over a million dollars for his last fight,Nate made 8,000.If he started working on Nate,he wouldn't have time to worry about CM punk,CM punk is the only one who will loose anything, it will have 0 effect on Nate,I admire him for stepping up.Had Nate continued to fight,by now he would have a nice bank account,he signed a new contract,I think it was 60,000 to show and 60,000 to win.he agreed to it and then start complaining,I don't get it,why sign it,then complain?
Can we please, please, PLEASE get Nick and Nate on Joe Rogan's podcast, and bring in Joey Diaz too? Just the four of them, a big bag of weed, and brilliant conversation :)
What was also incredibly bizarre about the whole thing was that CM Punk used to bitch endlessly that the WWE would bring back old stars or famous people and put them in prominent positions on their shows instead of the wrestlers that were there all the time. Absolutely zero self-awareness.
Why the ?#$& do people act like Nate and Nick are unintelligent & inarticulate just because they have distinctly Stockton-region speech patterns? Nate made many excellent points here and is obviously a bright & thoughtful man. Anyone claiming these two sound ignorant is immature, biased & envious. The Diaz brothers employ the English language just f%$*ing fine. They're fighters, not essayists. Zero good reasons to dislike these guys other than petty hating & insecurity.
shutup already, they are not articulate and can barely put two words together, they are not thought of as smart, they come across as dumb idiots who have gotten hit one too many times in the head
You know Nate has a fuck ton of brain damage right? Why do you think Nate Diaz low key left the UFC? It's because he can't fight any more. I am sure he low key told Dana White that, and asked for it to be kept secret.
Sure, Nate's far from eloquent, but he's undeniably right and justifiably pissed. He clearly understands CM Punk's drawing power and clearly understands UFC's desire to bring more eyes on the company and draw more revenue, but he also knows that Punk's got zero experience and was seemingly given what Nate and the others had to kick, scratch, and claw to get.
Beyond the way he articulates himself, which he obviously gets judged for he possesses a lot of life wisdom. He knew Connor's record, camp and skills were transparent. Took a beating from Connor to look at him and basically say is that all you got? Can't judge a book by it's cover.
CM PUNK used to talk about the same shit going on in the WWE.. he would piss and moan about The Rock and Lesnar being part time in the wwe and still getting the main event at wrestlemania. but in wrestling its all about paying your dues to earn that right, but still punk thought he was the chosen 1 who was bigger than the rock and lesnar. he felt that even tho those men paid their dues, he should have been the main event. the truth is cm punk will never be The rock or Lesnar.. he was a cry baby in 1 company and got slapped around in the other. im sorry i have no respect for him and will never understand why he felt so privileged. And the UFC needs to sit back and think about what Nate is saying.
In this interview, Nate said "Fuck him, fuck the whole situation" and then ended with "But I mean, I hope he does well, all the best to him." And somehow both statements ring so truely from him
Punk went and did to the ufc fighter guys what he accused and ranted about part timers in the wwe. He came in, a celebrity and took to well earned spot of a real ufc fighter for a part time deal and made more money than diaz and these other guys will ever make. & it’s annoying people say blame Dana white, but cm punk accepted the offer. The guys a massive hypocrite. Now he’s in aew, as a an old wwe guy taking the spot of the home established aew guys who were there from the start. He’s not part time but still goes against what he said about leaving the wwe
“You put an amateur in the pros that makes us all amateurs” This sums up my problem with 1) the 1950-60s NBA 1) the WWE from around 2000 on and 3) the UFC during this time period. Well said, Nate Diaz. Good sh1t homie.
