The contents of blue chests changes depending on the Terraformation level, so going on a wild chest-opening spree may leave you out of good loot later. Then on the other hand, you need some stuff you can only find in chests... 321 is life. 3 Iron, 2 Titanium, 1 Silicon. That's what you need for making a single room Oxygen shelter. Build those instead of filling up your inventory with O2 cans. Build one outside wrecks, then build Chests, or later, Lockers inside. Run inside the wreck, fill your inventory, return to shelter and dump the contents into storage, repeat. Then grab what is useful then and there to bring back. A Blueprint unlock screen is 1 Iron, 1 Silicon. So build one if you find blueprint chips. No need to fill your limited inventory with Blueprint chips. You found a 150% seed. What you SHOULD have done when you returned to base is immediately switch it in instead of the 100% LIRMA seed you had in your Vegetube, THEN built another Vegetube to hold the LIRMA. Building that 3rd Vegetube is a waste of resources and power. Don't build these types of machines unless you have something to put in them. The small screens can be placed on the floor, or on top of a chest, too, no need to waste Iron on a desk this early in the game. But I'll forgive you this one case of tidiness. (I've been known to dump loot directly on the floor at times) I've seen one player who spent 50 minutes building his 'perfect' starting base before placing his first machine. Not a good idea if the Gods of Randomness gets angered and you don't find much Space Food... Small tip for starters; the list of tasks is NOT a required list and definitely not in order. I build Drills and Wind turbines before even starting my base. And yes, multiple drills. It's the cheap terraformation machines, and will unlock bigger tank and backpack soon. Meteor storms... These brings resources, but the stuff is NOT permanent. Log out or reload and it's gone. Some types will despawn after a set time anyway... The Regular meteor storms you get now has a chance of dropping Aluminium! Bigger tip; when out looting, look around, under and over anything, particularly if it looks as if it's possible to go there...
