UGLY Nursing School Uniforms!

I am soo glad my uniform are regular navy blue scrubs with the university logo...

The pink dresses are kinda cute. They remind me of vintage candy striped uniforms. The class in all green actually doesn’t look that bad. They’re just a basic style of scrubs. But it looks weird to have everyone in green. You’d think they’d choose a more neutral color. The cap and red pants are actually kind of cute. They look like a nurse Halloween costume.

I was so low on money when I first graduated nursing school that I took my white nursing school scrubs and dyed them blue (in a pot on my stove) so I had a uniform to wear for my first job in the ICU!

My nursing school uniform looks like a nightingale dress. 😅 With a hair cap paired with a white apron, white stockings and white shoes. It's mandatory for us to tie our hair and cover it with a hair net ... the only missing is the lamp 😅 and we're good to go in a costume party 😅

Hahahaha west coast university uniforms “Le Cordon Bleu”. I have so many nursing students from this school and they all HATE their uniforms.

I hated wearing all white clinical scrubs. My uniform was so white it made my white shoes look egg shell or a light tan color. 🤦🏾‍♀️

My mom's uniform, circa 1971: White dress. White stockings. White shoes. Stiff white nurse's cap.

Light blue, no scrubs allowed (we got that changed before graduation), Had to have a collar. The fabric was a polyester doubleknit - very hot!!! in summer. And yes we had to wear caps. For three years we wore caps, and then they stopped them by grad so we never got our black bands! Shoes had to be all white, and not athletic shoes. Overall, the uniform and shoes cost double that of scrubs and runners.

When I graduated, we got caps and wore them proudly, had brown 1 inch velvet on it. We also had a small genie-looking white 🪔, with a tiny candle, that we lit. Next, we said the Nightingale Pledge. My problem was the “hand maiden to the physician” part. Uh, what? Most of us just kind of pretended to say it. Many years later, my daughter, no caps, no pledge. Our uniforms were all white, crappy feeling, thick material, with...wait for it...with a button on panel down the front. Along each side there was a 2 inch fugly strip of green material. Men wore a top with the same panel. They made it button on so we could have a nice all white uniform to start our careers! No, I’m not kidding. Today, my daughter doesn’t even wear scrubs. She works at the Clinic part of Seattle Children’s. Sorry people for the length

In the Philippines, we are required to wear the caps on clinicals. We'd have demerits/extensions if we forget to wear our caps. But we manage to make it look good i guess AHAHAH

my uniforms for LPN and RN were both white. LPN was an ugly looking dress with white stockings and shoes and caps for both. this was back in the mid 1980's. To keep the carn caps in place lots of bobby pins, white ones of course! During a rotation in the ICU one of my classmates got so frustrated with the cap getting caught in the wires/tubes she took it off and flung it across the room. Needless to I LMAO

The bib "cobbler" uniform is what I wore when I went to nursing school in 1996.

Omg!!😂😂 My day is completely made! 9:23 is my graduating class and I am just chilling in the top back row!! People would call us the trees in clinical cause we would stand and observe and we nicknamed ourselves the turds!! Thankfully enough....we complained enough that they changed the scrub colors

I graduated in 1973, just retired 2 years ago, yes, that is 48 years of nursing. My school uniform was a horrible pink color, skirt and top. The top had a Manchurian collar. The school badge was maroon and white and not small, fantastic color combination, pink and maroon. Still can't stand either one. Always knew when we were on the floor. We also wore caps at the time, which were always getting in the way. When I first started workin after I graduated and passed the 'boards" as we called them, still had to wear the cap. Finally got rid of those horrible things.

His 4 pocket white collared shirt makes him look like he came all the way from Cuba to save your life. He just needs a jaunty hat. 🤣 Too bad it doesn't breathe.

Yes, grad nursing in 1983 and caps were required. I don’t think I still have it. And it stayed on with lots of hair pins.

Lol 3:40 those are some bright green uniforms. Our PSW students at Conestoga (Ont, Canada) wore similiar uniforms in dark (almost army) green. They looked professional in dark green. The florescent green is too much. The bibs are also wayyyyyy too much

Caps are mandatory for work in Jamaica 🇯🇲. As in mandatory for nurses and students

I have had zero luck finding a photo of our hideous uniforms (from the early 1990s), so I attempted to recreate the stylish combo in a photostitch. The outfit was white pants and a white blouse with a Peter Pan collar; a coral sweater vest; a teal bow scarf; and topped with a teal and white striped seersucker blazer. We simply wore dark greenish turquoise surgical scrubs when i got my ADN and navy blue surgical scrubs during the RN to BSN program i attended later. Neither place had solid white uniforms, which would have made me look like a large, creepy milkman.

I had to wear a bib and caps too...but we called the bib 'aprons'. Even as a RN I hvse to wear a cap so it's very common in 2029..

I actually like these. Lime green is cute, as long as you don't wear it alone. I wouldn't want plain green though. Btw their shoes are black. I also like the blue and white cooking pics. Totally could wear that. I don't mind plain white but I would want to be comfortable and I don't think white is practical for messes and easy cleaning

We wore red white and blue plaid caps and bibs with a white underdress or white pants.

Never been so thankful for my black scrubs with my university logo on them. My school used to have all white scrubs and shoes but changed them because the students and a few of the preceptors complained about how hard the white was to keep clean

I have picked my nursing program base mostly off of the uniform I cant do white I'm navy blue with gold stitching for our school logo

I feel terrible for all the girls that have to wear dresses or skirts!! How are you even supposed to bend over or bend down to to anything? A girl I’m in a program with decides to wear skirts, based on religious reasons, but wears leggings with them so she can still do everything we can in pants!!

I know I’m late to this video but I just got accepted into nursing school and THIS YEAR they switched from boxy collared all white scrubs to galaxy blue Cherokee scrubs!!!

I am currently in Virginia and the school scrubs here are just regular blue and the schools here are actual colleges. But I am originally from western PA and up there the nursing schools are old school. They are connected to the hospitals and wear traditional white dress and cap that looks like its out of the 50’s. Regardless, nursing is what I want to do and would probably wear whatever the required uniform!

We have navy bottoms and a white top. I hattteeee white.

Try being in the tropical, humid country of the Philippines, and your uniform is like this: White nursing cap, a chemise under your uniform, high-collared white uniform made of thick, heavy fabric. A pinafore type apron white with bodice area made of double layered fabric. White stockings made of opaque material...sheer is not acceptable. And of course, white shoes. Just look up Philippine nursing students uniform in google to see. 😁

we wear caps during clinicals. just yesterday, my patient asked me what was the purpose of the caps HAHAHA. the RNs where we had our clinicals also use caps😅

I actually liked the retro pink dress uniform. I would wear them lol. I got my LPN through the Air Force so I missed out on the traditional nursing school stuff like the pinning ceremony and cap. I would love to have a cap.

I feel super lucky after watching this. Haha we can wear any brand/type of scrubs, they just need to be royal blue. No rules for shoes either, just closed toed. And lastly, if you have tattoos like I do, you have to wear a white undershirt.

I have to say our uniforms (University of the Free State Nursing School, which is in South Africa) are pretty to me. It's just very hot and our public hospitals don't have ventilation or air-conditioning so it sucks. Our summers are like 33°C and above.

I wore white dresses when I first started working as a nurse. Scrubs were only for specific departments in the hospital. In school we had cobbler aprons (bibs??) with the school logo applique'd on to wear over the uniform.

Call me crazy but I loved my lil nursing uniform. It was a white dress with white nursing shoes and hose. I wore it at my first job but gave it up when I started working ER. Yeah not good for all of those body fluids lol! I loved the pink dresses with white collars, pretty dang cute😂
