I remembering watching this when I was 14 recovering from sexual assault and dealing with the emotional abuse from my family. Being homeschooled, the internet became my sanctuary and this video made me feel heard, like an invisible person comforting me singing this to me. I'm almost 22 now and this video popped up in my recommendations again and I started crying. I imagine myself speaking to my older self now, reassuring her it's okay and it is both beautiful and heartbreaking. Thank you for this. I know this was vent art, but its powerful and helped me through some of the darkest moments in my life. Thank you so much.

yeah, i accidentally killed my friend trying to get their attention in a game, but when i was apologizing on discord, they screamed "I HATE YOU, FOREVER BIRD I HAD SO MUCH YOU-", and left me with my other friend i had known for a year, the one who hates me i known 4 years. i felt so bad, and i just wanted to change the past, what i have done. but its been like a week since it happened. i will never forget it, because, they were basically my first ever best friend. i always go to their dms, hoping they will respond, and forgive me. the game was Minecraft. i try to say that they could easily get their stuff back, and that i even have enough IRON to get it back FOR THEM. what they had was a flint and steel, iron pickaxe, and iron boots. and they will get offended easily. unfortunately, i guess i have not knew them good enough to realize. sorry for the long message, i just felt the urge to vent _SOMEWHERE_ .

I commented a long time ago about how this helped me with my anorexia, and getting over those issues along with self esteem issues, and family issues. Now I can come back, and understand from the other side. It still makes me tear up, but I find it empowering, and it reminds me how much I've overcome and that even if I don't know it people do care.

6 years later and this pops up in my recommended. I went from 13 in middle school. Just survived my second SA, my mom disowning me for being gay, struggling with so much mental illness not thinking of see the day I graduate highschool and now I’m in college, 19, and working as a daycare teacher. I cried my eyes out when my friend Catie Bowman told me her story from her past about how she got Cold Hard Heart Syndrome... and it was because of her times in FosterCare and traditional Schools which are where she was bullied and abused. So I kinda relate to this since it gives me a flashback to that time.... She isn't suffering those pains anymore cause she is living with her real family and she is in a Cyber School.... After going through my grandpas death, this song reminds me so much of him it gives me comfort. He was always there to pick me up and to boost my ego I don’t know what I’ll do without my biggest supporter in life but he was there for me when I needed him but I fear I still need him. My friend at lunch were sitting down.. she got a notification of a picture of me in my bathing suit and I’m very insincere about that. Someone got a photo of me and leaked it saying I was fat... I asked her what it was. She showed me. There were tears forming in my eyes. She hugged me and she said I was beautiful and she wishes should could have stopped the leak. I really don’t get why people dislike stuff (as in hit the thumbs down. Not actually not liking something) because my mum always told me that ‘if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all’ and that is a pretty good thing to say. I thought I could trust my mother, but since i have to deal with manipulative brats all the time I can read it like a whole other language, that's how I realized my mother was using me.. she flaunted my skills around like it was her that did those great things, if I said something embarrassing on accident for example, she would tell friends and family and mock me, she acts like she cares only to break me down again, she says she has "depression" and uses it to make people feel sympathy for her, so whenever we argue no matter how right I am SHE always wins, she tortures me in other ways too. I have EXTREMELY sensitive ears, I'm able to hear the vibrations of a car up to 1/5 of a mile away, she plays rock music at MAXIMUM volume right outside my window or in a room only about 7-8 ft away from mine, and oh lucky day my room is probably the least sound proof room in the entire house, she makes up excuses like "WELL I NEED TO LIVE TOO!" Or "if items are not falling off shelves the music isnt loud get used to it." She also makes me feel sympathy for her, on the outside I may seem like a person that couldn't give two f's about your problems, but on the inside I really care, even for some of the people who bully me, I try to believe they are all good at heart and have reasoning, but... that's not always true, my brain is just so confused.. I'm highly self aware and I know just because my mother didn't have the best past is a good reason for her to use me, but another part of me wants to think shes the mother I remember when I was a lil kiddo. I also never had a true friend until about a year ago when I joined a decently sized group of artists/anime fans, all of the people that were "friends" before that were either using me, just didnt care about our friendship anymore, was forced to not be my friend anymore, or became my friend again later on. Since 80% of people I let into my heart leave me... I mentally cant trust people I'm close with, no matter how hard I try, that's why I open up to people I dont know well or dont know entirely, like what I'm doing right now... not a single soul is likely to believe me about this story if I try to cry for help, because my mother is too "sweet" "trustworthy" they would think I'm lying, I have a history of crying over little things that matter to me more than anyone may realize. My life is just so fucked up mentally, I get headaches trying to convince my brain what shes doing isnt right every day but it's hard to convince my own conciousness everything is not okay. It's fair to say I might be mentally scarred later on in life, I practically have two consciousnesses arguing constantly at this point. I dont entirely think what my mother is doing is bad enough to get as upset that I am about it, but it is bad enough for me to know that it's not all sunshine and rainbows, thank you, thank you so much for listening to me if you did, I just had a lot of build up and I needed to rant, trust me, it means alot to me for someone to at least listen to what I have to say.
I get hurt alot, I act fine cause if I act sad then my cousin would yell at me saying I'm over reacting even tho ppl have touched me in ways I did not like. I dont trust ppl cause they can easily use it against you, whatever you tell them.

This song really tears me apart... I had a friend back in middle school commit suicide because she thought she wasn't good enough or she's ugly. I helped her as much as I could but she still thought she was all the bullies said.....she got in a fight with one of the bullies and had to go to the hospital because of the bully hitting her in the head, instantly knocking her out. I visited her everyday.....I also noticed cuts on her wrist but didn't want to bring it up to her since she was already in a bad state..... She got released from the hospital and instantly went to her room. Her mom said she tried to open the door to get to her daughter because the door was locked. Her tall father kicked the door open to see her on the ground with a empty pill bottle in her hand as she laid there lifelessly on the ground with foam coming out of her mouth, that's how her mom explained it to me....I cried myself to sleep that same night, went to her funeral and everything. I don't know what happened to the bully but the bully never came to school after that...I listened to the song after the thing with my best friend happened everyday. I'd cry all day, I had depression and wanted to be with her to(if you know what I mean)..I decided to live for her because she was the thing that made me want to write this..... My school was having a talent show, they've been planning for weeks even when she was alive. I did not want to go since when she was alive she would jump around in excitement because she signed up to dance, she was into dancing even though I wasn't . I decided to dance to this song for her at the talent show. It was supposed to be in the gym and I didn't know how to dance obviously so I learned to dance for her.(that's now my hobby..) I learned a dance from the dance instructor on this song. I learned it then next month came which was the talent show. It was my turn. I went up and danced, half way through the song I broke down and tears and it was visible. They mentioned before I danced that I would have to make a speech at the end of the song like everyone else. I hadn't planned a speech so I went with the flow. The song was over and I was breathing heavily as the principle gave me a microphone. I said "hello, I'm _______, I did this song because my friend committed suicide because of a stupid bully. She didn't deserve this! The song is ugly and that's what everybody called her but _____ is not UGLY!" I yelled the last part into the microphone as I cried more. I threw the microphone on the ground and ran out the room... I know this was long, sorry!

Clean cut, silicon, shiny and new is all people want to be now because of what their society deems necessary to be beautiful, when in all originality, they were even more beautiful in the first place.

I had a time in my life where I was harassed for my body and I hid myself from the world then I met a guy and we talked for a while. He noticed something was wrong. One day he asked me what was wrong and I explained everything. How they made fun of my body, how they hated me for my body, how I was this big whale. Eventually me and this guy started dating. And he made me feel so much better though yeah I still feel a little insecure, but I'm way better than I was in the past. I'm glad that the thoughts of people telling me all those terrible things didn't get to my head.

I almost cried. This really reminded me when i was in first grade how did my classmates bullied me. They would call me: “Stick! Go eat something!” “Omg look i can hold your hand up with my pinky” “Oh look,the stick is eating something. FINNALY” They even forced me to eat something i could die of. I have asthma,a bad one. And when i would eat penauts or eggs,i could die. It almost happend to me that day. They where chasing me around the classroom,pushing the penaut againts my mouts and saying things like: “Omg its just a penaut,it wont eat you!” When the teacher came in that moment,she saw me,standing in a corner,crying like never in my life,and them,laughing like hell. Im so lucky that i didnt die. Live every moment of your life,because it could be the last

And a lot more... When I went to school some kids actually *THREW* my plate of food on the floor telling me "if you're going to eat, eat like the pig you are! Fatty!" I stopped eating almost anything for a while, and am still doing it... I had boys tell me "I feel bad for any guy that dates you, that dinner bill will be *Huge* no pun intended" I have heard every joke, every mean thing people can say to someone overweight... I'm sorry you had to go through people being cruel... I never would wish what I went through or you on anyone...

This is totally me. My parents always say I'm a little chubby too. I always wear a jacket or sweater to put on my waist or on me whenever I go somewhere. My parents say "it's hot outside, you don't need that!" Or, they say, "Why do you always where a jacket?" I shrug or take it off, feeling uncomfortable. I always feel fat and I feel like everyone is staring at me in disgust. I got depression and anxiety because of this. I wear my jacket over me even when I'm around family. I also don't like to wear shorts anywhere also, because I have a insecurity of my legs. But, I have been been exercising and eating healthy. I'm still a little chubby but I'm much better, and so is my depression, but not my anxiety. I have also been trying to starve myself and saying negative stuff I'm guessing like you. I can't help myself from crying silently in my sleep and in my room. Gods, I'm crying pretty uncontrollably here. I was the curly deer through all of my school life. Even some of my teachers bullied me. Sadly, I didn't have anyone like the white deer to pick me back up, and now I live like a shut-in, because I can't really do people anymore. I try, and any in-person relationships fall apart within a month or two, unless I've got years of online friendship behind me first. The only exception is my future sister-in-law, who I helped rescue from her abusive grandparents, and even then, we got what felt like years of history in only a few short months. From the moment we met at school, to the moment when I went to go pick her up after her grandmother attempted to murder her, to the moment she was finally able to go home to her mother, a year to the day after I met her. We've remained close friends since then, and now she's getting married to my older brother. It's kinda weird, thinking about it. ...I guess, in a way, she was my white deer. She helped me gain a back bone to stand up for myself. Still, it was rather too little, too late. I was already having issues with people by that point, seeing as it was my second to last year of high-school, then. I hope everyone who's suffering abuse at the hands of their peers manages to find their white deer before they become like me, and remember that you are all beautiful in your own way.
I think my favorite part about this, besides the beautiful message and editing, is the fact that they’re deer??? That’s so rare to see for people who like to draw. Normally it’s cats or wolves. It’s just nice to see a change of pace. Obviously this is amazing and I love it.

We need to stop defining ourselves as "less than" and "unworthy" because society doesn't agree with us being ourselves. What society defines as "imperfections", I see is what makes a person unique. Be yourself, love others for who they are, accept them and reassure them that you are there for one another. It can mean everything to them. #SpreadTheLove 🏳️⚧️💞🏳️🌈

I saw this forever ago and it introduced me to this song (and Nicole Dollanganger) and I remember relating to it so much as someone who never was conventionally attractive and singled out for it at school, on top of growing up in an abusive home. I still relate to it to this day, as both characters (the singer + person the song is being sung to)

I learned that the hard way, many, many, times. I lose my temper quite a bit and the only thing that comes from it this horrible feeling of guilt in the pit of my stomach.
